Lauren I may be the only one who thinks this but the last Calvin and Hobbes strip seems to have a bittersweet ending. You want to cry because it's ending but then Calvin says "its a magical world Hobbes" "lets go exploring" like he's destined for great things and it's not goodbye just Calvin going on yet another one of his crazy adventures. you cant help feel happy for him

Yep. Agree. Completely.

Elizabeth Reuter Yes indeed. Do you remember the strip where Calvin and Hobbes decide people dream so they can meet at night?

Calvin and Hobbes, the characters and strip, inspired a million dreams. We the readers miss the heck out of them...but we'll see them again, in our memories, and in dozens of other creative works inspired by what Watterson did.

Nessy96 I havn't read all of them yet, but i can't imagine them ending (becues) they are so funny!

Lucas I haven't read all of them yet either, but I have enjoyed them since I was a kid and will continue until I am unable to hold a book.

Paul Although I think I've read all of them, I'm still saving my loose change for this:
The Complete Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson The Complete Calvin and Hobbes
and then what'l I do? Why, I'll read them all over again! :-)

Martyn Halm Yes, the ending is bittersweet, but it's also 'perfect' in the sense that Watterson ended the series before the quality diminished, as is the case with many series.

Deeptanshu This remains one of my fav series. The ending was beautiful but Frankly I hope it is resurrected someday.

As much as I wish the same.
Bill Waterterson and Calvin & Hobbes go together. I can't see anyone else ever doing this.
Sure if Bill ever wanted to come back, I'd be the first to celebrate. But done by anyone else just wouldn't feel right.
At this point, I'm just waiting for the next great series and creator to come along and blow me away.

brooke1994 I understand that Bill Watterson felt that it was the time for Calvin and Hobbes to end, but that doesn't mean I don't miss it. It's funny, witty, at times sad and philosophical. It's hard to find another comic strip that comes close.
