Michaela Wood I love receiving a poem in the mail, and being bowled over by it's meaning and tone. Unprepared for poetry I am assaulted by the words. I think, "What is this?!! What formal words...", the prose I had expected is melted into beats and stanzas.. then I remember our club!

Giovanna (whenwearebothcats) | 21 comments I adore it. I love the poems I get from Melanie - they are always full of feeling and meaning. I often sit for a while thinking over the words. I never really got into poetry until this exchange came along. I find myself now buying more and trying to make sense of it all.

CleverGirl (stonerfoods) | 1 comments i haven't gotten one yet, but i hope mine are being received with that enthusiasm!

i worry i may not be picking the right style for the mystery person i send to, but i guess trial and error is part of the scheme of it all.

Michaela Wood LOL - there MUST be some cranky poetry to suit you . Does anyone have any poets by whom they were surprised? I really liked Longfellow, and his name always made me think his poems were long and boring. UNfortunate name
