Consider the ending. Did you expect it or were you surprised? Was it forced? Was it neatly wrapped up—too neatly?

I was a little mad at Reyes...He set Charley up and then wasn't there when she needed him. Lelands muck up totally caught me off guard. So we now must wonder if Charley will pack up her office and move...how long will she punish Reyes and how quickly will he be pardoned and how many women are going to mug him as he leaves prison? I don't think it was wrapped up at all...if anything, it left us hanging!

The ending of third grave left me speechless?i was angry at reyes, angryy at charleys dad
I wonder what reyes will do now that he is out of prisiom
I really want charley and reyes to patch things and amd finally get it on in their actual bodies hahaha

I agree with you. The ending knocked me for a complete loop! I was happy with the way the story was wrapping up and then it was a one-two punch from Leland and Reyes and I (and Charley) was reeling. It definitely left us hanging and ready for book 4.

I was sooo glad that Garrett came back at the end-I had been in tears when Cookie and Ubie said he had died.

Then Charley gets such a wonderful guardian with Artemis, and I'm such a dog fan that I think it's wonderful that Charley has her.

I live in australia, no spring break for me its autumn lol
I have two weeks off in april for easter then going to greece may 1st for a family holiday so still have a couple of weeks of assignments to go lol

The end left me an emotional wreck. I was irritated at Leland for having Charlie arrested, disgusted with Reyes for using Charlie, sad because I thought Garrett died, in
turmoil when Charlie kissed the biker, Donovan, especially when Reyes asks her "Is this for me Dutch?". She tells him in her mind, "f**k you" and Charlie feels Reyes's anguish. Then, I am relieved to learn that Garrett is alive but left wanting and needing answers. Finally, I am happy Artemis is Charlie's guardian and the little girl crosses over.

I cannot wait until book four to discover what will happen with Garrett, will any intimate relationship develop between Charlie and Donovan (I hope not), what will Charlie do about good old dad, will Cookie and Ubie get it on, how will Ubie help Charlie, will Charlie even continue her investigative business or will she be too busy learning her reaper skills to prepare for the up coming war the angels keep talking about, will Mistress Marigold assist Charlie...

Ladies, what I should have said is that the end of the book left me "crazed" for more. As you can tell from my gibberish above and this post at 1 am...I can't sleep due to my fixation. ;-)

It did make sense Mel! I don't think a relationship with Donovan will develop much but just because Darynda said she doesn't like love triangles.

Regarding the 27th, it seems I have to either sleep at work on the following morning or just completely ignore the fact that there is a morning? lol

Ines, did Darynda say no love triangles at all or none between Garrett, Charlie and Reyes? I know she said she didn't like them, but could she throw in a new and brief character into the mix just to stir things up a bit? I hope not, but you never know...Charlie is PO'd.

Feel free to submit more than one, but it all depends on how many people we will have active on how many questions will be asked. If it is a small group then we will have more time. It was Annii that wished there wasn't a love triangle in the story, but you're right. Darynda replied Garrett/Charley was just flirting but she also said she tried to avoid love triangles: "Annii, I'm not into triangles either. I try to avoid them." Anyway, she wrote somewhere that she was writing something that seemed to me like Reyes and Charley making amends. I'll search for it.

While we're at it, I read in another Darynda's reply that she wanted to created a being that was a tad more powerful than Charley. It seems that if it gets to Reyes vs Charley, he'll win but he'll be kicked to the bone. She will be almost as powerful as him.

In the Bitten By Books Interview/Chat with Darynda earlier this week Darynda said "I just wanted Reyes to be a VERY powerful being, seemingly stronger then Charley. But then again, is he? Inquiring minds and all…" It might end up that Charley's the stronger of the two.

One of the other questions asked was:
Q-Is there another male in Charley’s near future that may cause some warm fuzzy moments ?
And Darynda's answer:
"I think there will always be males who WANT to cause warm, fuzzy moments and I’m sure I’ll write about a few of them. But in the end, it will all come down to her and Reyes. I love that man. He needs a little redeeming right now, but he’ll always be her number one man."

Thanks Traci! I hate love triangles with a passion...I always have a favorite man and get way too involved in cheering for him. I get turned off the series if my man does not "win" the heroine.

I LOVE an HEA....I NEED an HEA. I know that Charley smooched Donovan, but she was hurting and needed some no complication canoodling and Donovan was there! But now she has Artemis to cuddle when she needs a shoulder to cry on...so F.O. guys if you think you can get in Charleys pants through crying break downs *blows raspberry*

Ines, bejesus was in the last Night Huntress book I read. Since we had been talking about that word, it kinda stuck out at me. Frost uses it to. :)

I also read it in another book (I think it was by Janet Evanovich?), but I immediately associated it with Darynda. It seems to be much more used than I initially thought, which is good - it's such a funny expression! :)

A photographer? Wow, the best of luck Annii! I wonder if you're more of a person or nature photographer, but if it's nature you're in the right continent.

Darynda is such a wonderful story teller and let me be honest here, after I opened up First Grave to the Right, I read the whole series in less than 72 hours! With that I enjoyed the ending, we went on a very emotional journey, but everything that Charley is going through is making her a stronger character. There was a silver lining for her. And the best part about the ending in my opinion... is knowing that we don't have to wait a whole year for the next book to come out!!!
