I have a question...how do you get people to look at your blog? I have had mine for a while it has very little traffic maybe it's because I don't have a niche.

I dont have many followers but I do get some traffic coming through. Use tags, pictures, and back links to bump the blog to the top of search engines. But mostly I just share my blog link on Facebook, Twitter, and any where else I c an

Sounds like good advice. I'm nervouse about pictures though I don't know which ones I can just use and which are stealing. I have a lot to learn about the internet!

what are backlinks? how do you do that?

I have a blog on wordpress currently. Had one on blogspot but I think too many blogs are hard to deal with.

up until about three months ago, i barely ever had any comments or views, but that was my own fault because i barely ever read anyone else's blogs or left comments. then i started reading and reading and commenting and commenting. then i started "following" certain blogs. this is all on wordpress. now i have about 30 or so people following me who get each post in their e-mail.

i also recently learned about "tags," where you put certain labels for each post, and that allows your blog entry to show up when someone searches wordpress for that particular word in their search.

i also make it a point to check out what wordpress calls their "freshly pressed" list. each day they select about ten posts from ten different writers and feature them on a specific page called "freshly pressed."

lots of people build a following by reading these, making comments, and then others who also read those comments will occasionally drift over to your blog and see what you're writing about. it's taken a while, but i'm slowwwly building an audience.

i used to be on blogspot, but i switched to wordpress because i thought it looked more professional and less like a grown-up myspace.

I was overwhelmed with all the choices to decorate the blog spent more time doing that than blogging. I love the crisp minimalist look of wordpress and its very user friendly. Some great tips I now know I was headed in the right direction. Thank.you for your feedback!

Ok, after completely stalking your pages, I have decided to get myself a wordpress blog. But not tonight, tomorrow. It is St. Patty's day and I am Irish. There is no way I can see straight enough to set up a new blog.

oh, but wait!! if you go on wordpress, there's a way you can import your entire blogspot blog, every entry, including pictures, everything. it takes no time at all. my entire 5 or 6 years of blogspot are all on wordpress now.
