I'm probably going to start sometime tomorrow or on Sunday, just so that I can finish it before I go and see the film. But if that's too early for you then just let me know and I'll move it back a bit :)
I want to reread this book too before I go and see it in about a week. Just let us know and I will catch up. These next few days will be crazy, but I can probably catch up on Tuesday through Thursday.
Megan-- I'm going to start it either tmr or Sunday, too. I'm flexible on when we start, though.I'm always super busy during the week, so hopefully I'll have little homework. I'm going Friday night with my BFF for her bday :)
I started The Hunger Games last night. Has anybody else started it yet? :)I only planned to read a couple of chapters last night but once I got started reading I couldn't stop - I'd forgotten how good it was!
LOL! I started last night/this morning. I've only read chpts 1 & 2 so far, but I'll be at least halfway through the book by the end of the day I'm sure :D.What part are you at right now in the book?
I'm already halfway through the book! I've just read the chapter where Katniss and Rue team up, I love Rue - she's just so cute :)
Right?! The actress that plays her in the movie is exactly what I thought Rue would look like. After I get my homework and some chores done, I'll be going right back to reading :D
I just read the first chapter last night. Over the next couple of days. I am going to finish a couple of books then I will make this one my focus book.
I'm kind of tearing through this book!Poor Rue's dead, and Peeta and Katniss have just got that pot of broth from Haymitch. I just can't stop reading :)
Awww poor Rue ): and we completely understand! That's what happens to everyone that reads that book I think.

This is the second time I've read it as well! Granted, the last time I read it was years ago, so a few things had faded from my mind :)
Same here, Megan. I haven't read it in 2 years, and because of all the books I've read I don't remember anything but the main parts.
That is why I love to reread books. I forget all the little details and fall in love with them all over again.
I completely agree! That is why, despite being an avid reader from an early age, I have not read all that many books. Because I simply re-read my favorites over and over and over. Oops. =)Though for me, it has only been 6 months since I have read THG. I jumped on this bandwagon late in the game lol. But I am super excited to start my re-read tomorrow!
LOL! That's okay, Jennifer! At least you're on the bandwagon! :DDAnd frankly, I think that fact that you reread your favorites a bunch is great. I wish I wasn't so OCD about not reading one book so many times haha :)
There are some books that I don't really care how many times I read it. I will read it over and over again. I usually like to put at least 2 years between each one though.
So I started today, and just reading the first chapter, I am very encouraged about this movie. Because the preview scene of the reaping is word for word to every detail straight from the text. And if they are that considerate of the text all the time, then this movie will be AWESOME!I also forgot just how "READYGO!!" this book is. It literally dives straight into the action and it's nonstop until the end.
I am super pumped! They are starting group training now! =)
I know right!!! I'm at the part when they're all about to start the interviews...They are sitting in their chairs now! :D About to go get the book and read for the rest of clasd.

I didn't read it last year, so I'm hoping that I'll get to reread it again this year :)
I've just seen the film and although is departs quite seriously from the book in places both the story and the main characters stay true. I and my teenager companions loved it.
At the part right after she goes to the feast. Going to see it tonight with my friends; so ready!!! :D
In my opinion, I really don't think they could have made this movie any better. It is the perfect combination to please both the lover of the books and those who have not read them. It's actually pretty brilliant.Though caution, don't sit in the front section. LOL
=D
LOL!!!! I know right!! That scared me sooo bad! And we were near the top! :DI really do absolutely love the movie!!!! I think I just wanted a few more details, but at the same time, I can live with what they put. I like how they took some things out, but included wayyy more perspectives than what you get in the book. (Anything pass this, Jennifer, I think we'll just have to PM about. I'm afraid I'll give something "new" away!)
I am glad you liked it too! =) Maybe in a couple of days we can open up a discussion about it. It definitely is a movie that can be discussed!! =)
I just finished this book, and I actually really liked it. I've had it on my self since it first came out, but was hesitant about reading it. I just wasn't too sure How I would feel about it. But than I heard that they were turning it into a movie and figured it was definitely time to get it off my to-be-read pile. I read it a lot faster than I was expecting too, lately because of school I will have a book on the go for months. I'm going to see the movie tonight, and I'm hoping that they stayed some what close to the story line of the book. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

So, with the film coming out in cinemas next week I thought it would be cool if I re-read the book :) So if anyone wants to join in, re-reading or reading for the first time, feel free to post here - its much more exciting when people are reading with you!
