dely | 368 comments Let's see if I have understood everything correctly.

For now I add just the books read this year. If I make something wrong please tell me.

This year I was in:

Italy: Il sangue del Sud. Antistoria del Risorgimento e del brigantaggio (I am sorry but there is no English edition of this book; it talks about the unification of Italy in 1861) by Giordano Bruno Guerri

Bulgaria: Solo by Rana Dasgupta

Italy/Poland: Confessioni di uno psicopatico (no English translation :/) by Michele Ponte

Russia: The Brothers Karamazov byFyodor Dostoyevsky

Portugal: Pereira Maintains by Antonio Tabucchi

France: How I Became Stupid by Martin Page

India/Afghanistan: Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

Germany: The Gambler by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

India: Love and Longing in Bombay by Vikram Chandra

Italy: Tosca, the Cat Lady by Gina Lagorio

Russia: Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin

So it is:
regions: 3
countries: 9 (I count only once the same country)
books read: 11

Have I forgotten something? Is everything right?

You are off to a great start! You can go back and count books you have read as far back as last October.

dely | 368 comments Fine!
So I add:
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (Unites States)

Lifting the Wheel of Karma by Paul H. Magid (Montana)

The Trial by Franz Kafka (Germany)

Justine by Donatien-Alphonse-François de Sade (France)

The House of the Dead by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (Russia)

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich: A Novel by Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn (Russia)

The Prophet and The Garden Of The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran (I don't remember where it is set! Middle-east)

Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (Spain)

The Tale of Hodja Nasreddin: Disturber of the Peace by Leonid Solovyov (somewhere in the middle-east)

Scarface, una storia violenta by Daniele Cavagna (Italy) there is no translation of this book.

Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol (Russia)

regions: 4
countries: 12
books read: 22 (though there are some books I have read in two volumes, I am counting only one)

You must help me with the counting because I don't know the states of America :/

Dely, I have counted The Prophet as Lebanon and The Tale of Hodja Nasreddin: Disturber of the Peace as Turkmenistan. You can also count The Trial as Czech Republic, if you like, since you already have a book set in Germany..

dely | 368 comments Ok, thanks.
The Prophet hasn't a real setting, it is more philosophycal. Can I however put Lebanon as country?
At the end (but I haven't had time to edit) I have found Uzbekistan for The Tale of Hodja Nasreddin.
I leave Germany for The Trial because it is set in Germany; is it set also in the Czech Republic? I don't remember.

As soon as I will have a few time I will post the correct and more ordered list with the right counting; I am sure I have made some mistake (like putting Russia as Middle-East).
