Poppy walked in and took hold of a bow and arrow. She wore jean shorts and a green tank top. Her strawberry blonde hair had been tied back into a braid as she released one arrow after another with a frown on her face. They all hit the bulls eye except for the occasional stray arrow a few inches off.
Cormic walked into the arena and smiled at the girl, her shorts were a bit too revealing for his taste but he watched her curiously. Smiling kindly he walked over and whistled after she had shot a quiver of arrows into the targets. “Shouldn’t you be practicing skills you aren’t good at? Not buffing the ones you’ve mastered?” He suggested curiously and smiling kindly at the female.
Poppy slowly and calmly let another arrow fly into the mark, a frown spread across her face "And who's to say I have not mastered them all?" she asked without emotion. She glanced his way, her eyes hard before she winced. He looked so much like hasting. Poppy released another arrow.
Cormic smiled, “Oh I’m sure you’ve got some flaw. You can’t be perfect, even if you are District 1.” He shrugged, “Not to be offensive to a lady but even one such as yourself can’t be perfect at everything.” He shrugged and picked up an arrow, running his fingers through the little shaft feathers at the end.
Poppy glared at him briefly and picked up a dagger, she chuckled it into the dummy's head before picking up two more daggers "Alright-- come on hot shot." she growled out "Let's have a go at it." Poppy glared at him, not mentioning that she DID have a flaw. Not only could she not swim....but she was terrified of heights
Cormic raised a brow and then shook his head, “No offence, Miss, but I really can’t. My mother raised me to never harm a lady. And as short as your shorts may be, I still believe you are a lady.” He nodded and smiled apologetically. “I do apologize for the inconvenience, Miss.” He apologized again.
Isabella walked in the workout clothes the Capitol had given her and walked towards the bow and arrow station. This was her favorite weapon in the world, and wouldn't know what she would do without it. I'd actually would have starved to death... she thought, but pushed it away quickly, focusing on the task at hand...practice. Glancing over her shoulder, Isabella saw Cormic flirting with another girl...well, kind of flirting, the other girl looked mad. But she tilted her head, watching them intently, remembering how her mentor had reminded her to stay focused and find out as much as the other tributes as possible.
Poppy glared and threw the dagger at the dummy, it went in the stomach and she gripped her nose painfully "Dammit why the hell does he have to resemble Hast so much!?" she muttered to herself before grabbing her water bottle and taking a drink. "Well your momma's lessons are going to get you killed within the first day" she snapped at him.
Cormic smiled politely, “Then I’ll have died to be able to help a lady survive.” He shrugged, “My death would be of little importance.” He smiled and shrugged, spotting Isa out of the corner of his eye he turned and gave her a friendly wave, smiling brightly at her. After all she was a sweet girl and deserved to be treated kindly.
Seeing how she had been seen watching them, and partly for the girls language, she gave a small wave at him and turned around, picking up an arrow and notching it into the bow. Some things she made a mental note of:1. The girl's got a temper
2. Get in her head and make her mad, she might get sloppy
3. Don't do your best tricks now, save them for the actual games
And with that, she let the arrow go and let it fly for the dummy, letting it hit right where it's left eye should have been. Usually you aim for the heart, but this'll do...

Vincent entered the arena, his eyes instantly scanning the tributes already training. Poppy's here, he thought as his eyes landed on his fellow District 1 tribute. He thought he recognized the other two tributes as being from District 12, but he wasn't positive. "The most fortunate, and least fortunate." he muttered with a smile.
Yuki walked in. She was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and some matching shorts that were knee-length. Her hair was up in a ponytail. She surveyed the area, and brightened when she saw some bow and arrows and swords. Better to something I'm not good at, she thought and thought for a while.
Cormic raised a brow, a genuine expression of confusion, “Why shouldn’t I be?” He asked curiously. “I’m not going to win and with it being my last few days alive, I’d like to leave a positive influence behind.” He nodded and smiled kindly at the District one girl, wondering why he bothered her so much.
Poppy glared at him and placed her hands on her popped hips "Yeah well you don't have to be so....so" she waved her hands at him "So pleasant!" she shook her head and cursed over and over WHY DID HE HAVE TO LOOK LIKE HAST!?!
Cormic nodded slowly, “Alright. Here let me try…” He paused and took a deep breath before speaking, “Excuse me, Miss. But I believe your shorts may be a tad bit inappropriate and provocative.” He smiled, “Was that better?” He asked smiling kindly at the girl.
Poppy shook her head in shock "Unbelievable" she muttered with another shake of her head "Even trying to be unpleasant you can't!" she walked forward and punched him in the jaw in attempt to get some reaction out of him.
Cormic blinked, startled and looked down at the girl, “Miss that was highly uncalled for. I do expect some sort of reason as to why your actions came about?” He asked politely and kindly, he couldn’t remember ever getting mad.
((Hehe, Cormic's cute! XD Polite...XP))Yuki looked around, and saw the bickering girl and the boy. She smiled tentatively towards their direction.
Poppy glared at him "Dammit you even act like him" she shook her head "do me a favor and stop being so pleasant" she barked before turning and walking out of the arena, trying to avoid tears the whole way. Poppy was obviously upset as she headed to the pool. [ill make the topic]
Cormic watched the girl confused as she ran off. After a moment he raced after her, intent on apologizing for his actions.
Rose walked into the arena. She decided to learn how to set some snares, and learn a little about the plants and berries. After learning a couple snares and what plants were safe to eat, she decided to see how the bow and arrows felt in the capitol. Her first two shots were a little off, but soon enough they were hitting her target. She set it down and looked at the knives.
((When you say "District 1 Girl" I think you're talking about me and it makes me sad.))
Avalon strode into the Training Arena, shy because she hadn't met any of these people before.
Avalon strode into the Training Arena, shy because she hadn't met any of these people before.
Rose looked at Avalon from the knives station and smiled. Maybe she should get to know her. After all, maybe she'll get to know her weaknesses. "Hi, uh, your name's Avalon, right?"
"So, what are you gonna practice. I don't really know what to do so I guess I can just join you," Rose replied, an innocent smile appearing on her face.
Vincent was getting bored at the knot tying station he had decided to try out. He stood up and left, but said a hasty thank you to the instructor as he walked away. You're supposed to be finding allies or just figuring out the weaknesses of your opponents... he reminded himself as his eyes yet again scanned his fellow tributes.
"Hey I've been doing this for a while too. It doesn't hurt to practice. Besides, the weapons here have a different feel for them." Rose urged.
Avalon shrugged. "No thanks. I need to keep myself safe." She said, not bothering telling Rose why.
"Safe? There is nothing safe here. If you don't want to get hurt, you might as well have never come in here." Rose silently crossed her off as an ally.
Vincent casually eavesdropped on the two conversing girls as he pretended to be learning how to throw a spear correctly.
Avalon laughed again. "Like it was my choice! Believe me, right now, I want to stay as far away from Weapons as possible."
Rose walked casually over to Vincent. "Hey, so what are you practicing? I guess I could try this." She held a spear in her hand. "Is this right? I'm sure a guy like you would know how to do this..."
Vincent looked up at her with a small smirk crossing his face. "Its quite simple. A girl like you should be able to figure it out," he shot back at her with a playful glint entering his eyes.
"Fair point," Vincent smiled as he set the spear he'd been working with down. He looked at the spear she had in hand, giving his head a slight shake. "That spears a little too long for you," he said as he turned to grab a shorter, thinner spear out of the racks. "Use this one."
"Okay," Rose smiled and traded spears with him. She held out the spear, "Is this how I'm supposed to hold it?" She was seriously considering him for an ally.
Avalon watched, clutching her little bump of a stomach. She suddenly longed for someone to hold her through this rough time. She thought of her boyfriend, but knew she was never going to see him again.
Vincent's eyes quickly took in how she was holding it, calculating whether it was correct. "You've almost got it..." he said as he stepped closer to her. He placed his hand on hers to move it farther back, "There. That's better." Vinny took a step back, "And make sure you have your feet spread apart."
Avalon sat on the ground, reminiscing. It wasnt going to do her any good, but she had no good to do.
