Carrie Hanson (meepingmarimba) I just started reading a book called A Beginner's Guide to Reality, and it's making me want to become more interested in philosphy and such. Is anyone else interested in it?

Dayla (daylafm) | 8 comments :( Sadly, after a very bad experience in my class The Meaning of Life, philosophy and I are not very good friends.

Carrie Hanson (meepingmarimba) That's a class? What happened that made your experience bad?

Dayla (daylafm) | 8 comments Yeah, it's a University course... and I tried and tried and thought I got it, but apparently I didn't and did not do so well... it was a daunting class for a first year...

Lovisa (thelovisab) | 5 comments I took a philosophy course when I was 17 (I'm 21 now so not TOO long ago ;)) and my teacher was great! He made me see new ways of thinking and I have a much easier time understanding how other people think, without having to think that way myself. I think that has helped me in every other subject I have studied since then :) Is the book good? Maybe I should read it?

Carrie Hanson (meepingmarimba) I think it's interesting, I haven't looked much into philosophy before, and the author really makes what he's saying easy to understand to people who don't have much background in science/philosophy.
