The man called Axel into the infirmary and laid him on the cot. Axel was slightly awake and completely stressed out as his heart kept picking up every other second.
Marlee waljed over and shook her head, "Axel, relax." she said softly. And bit her lip, her brow furrowed with concern over her fellow tribute.
Marlee nodded, "Deep breaths. Think of happy thoughts." she said softly and looked up to see Lune. She gave a small smile at Lune.
Axel laughed without humor "What happy thought?" his low voice rumbled out. The nurse put small heart monitor tabs on his chest as well as a blood pressure cup that would monitor him. His pulse was outta wack and quick. Weak and his blood pressure was very high.
Marlee bit her lip, "Okay, well think of something you like. The scent of apple pie or the feel of the wind. The sight of a new day as it breaks over the horizon and the sun starts to rise, bathing everything in its warming golden rays." shs said wistfully.
Axel shook his head as a nurse came by again and injected him with a sedative. His heart rate dropped down dramatically before he passed out.
Marlee walked into the infirmary an hour later and sat down at one of the checkup tables. A nurse came over and insurting a needle began to draw blood.
Axel walked back in to pick up medication they had gotten for him before stopping, his eyes like daggers "what exactly happened last night" he half way demanded from her
Lune felt like a dog when she followed marlee. but she was interested in what would happen. "You fainted." she called out to Axel.
Marlee nodded at Lune's statement and flushed, her whole posture was apologetic as she looked at him with her wide brown eyes.
Axel frowned and crossed his arms across his chest. He nodded briefly and walked to get his medication
Marlee's eyes widened at Lune and she shook her head, giving her a look that asked what the girl was doing.
Marlee stood and pulled the IV out of her arm. Quickly she tied a knot in the tube and headed towards the door.
Axel stood in her way and blocked her passage out "Why do you seem to be the first damn girl on this planet that doesn't ever talk?"
Axel watched her slowly and closely "You never talk-- every bitch always talk but you don't. Why?" He asked, his eyes taking note of her every move
Marlee flinched at his language and understood his words, he was inferring she was a bitch too. Silent yes, bust still a bitch. "I'm sorry. I can talk more..." she trailed off and kept her eyes glued to the ground.
Axel shook his head "For once you are giving girls a good name...this time a least" he watched her slowly.
Marlee nodded silently and looked at his arm, which was blocking her way. "Excuse me." she said again, desperate to get out of the infirmary and go hide in her dorm room.
Biting her lip, she replied slowly, "Marlee, Marlee Clearwater." She bit her lip and continued to look at his arm, she couldve pushed her way through, but she was far to shy.
Axel nodded slowly "May I talk to you Marlee?" he asked more gently-- feeling like she may be different.
Marlee looked up, and seeing his hand, bit her lip. Tentatively she reached out and put her hand lightly in his.
Axel nodded Not like her, not like her... he told himself over and over "Where do you want to talk?"
Marlee nodded slowly, and never raised her eyes higher than his hand. She just looked at the ground, mostly. Memorizing his shoes.
"Can you see through walls or something? How'd you find this place," Vincent teased with a grin.
