Which vampire book do you prefer and why?

Haven't read Vampire Academy or House of Night. I have only read half of the Twilight Saga so I can't really decide. My favorite series with vampires is either Sookie Stackhouse series or Mortal Instruments! Both series are fast-paced, exciting and never boring. Another vampire series which I enjoy is Cirque Du Freak (13 books of amazingness)!

You need to go read Vampire academy! It's simply amazing! At first, I didn't want to read it since I read House of Night and many people said there similar but it's not true! Vampire academy is 100000000x times better than House of Night!

House of Night never seems to end and just gets really boring! Plus the writing is just horrible!

Twilight is ok! I think it's kind of overrated!

I never read any of those books but my favorite vampire books are the Night Huntress series

I agree. HoN got dragged out too long. gave up after Awakened, which took me quite a while to finish.
Who in the world says that HoN is like VA??? the only similarities I see is that they involve a school for vampires and a female lead POV. And as far as Twilight goes, it was the movie media hype that killed it for me. I liked it up until Breaking Dawn. That was a crap book in my opinion. but the others were alright..

My favorite is The Morganville Series! It is a long series but there is never a dull moment in Morganville. The author,Rachel Caine, always throws in little surprises here and there.I love all the characters and how they become stronger as the series continues. Love the action! The series is honestly addicting.

I love what I have read so far in Cirque De Freak And the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod..but I havent gotten that far in neither, so I cant add to my favorites..yet :)

The Nightworld Series is great as well but I am so sure the last book will ever be done or published.

How could I forget Vladimir Tod! I love ALL the Vlad Tod books! They're way too short though!!! I am always trying to think who I would cast for Vlad in a movie though.. (dark haired and pale male who has a goth look) The Slayer Chronicles tells of Joss the vampire slayer and is really good even though the sequels are not published yet!

I emailed the author and I believe she told me it would be published in September maybe? I don't remember right now.

I need to finish all these books I have so I can finally finish the series!

I used to love house of night but there were os many books and it just got so boring! Don't recommend it at all!

never heard of it! Anyone read shiver? IK it's about werewolves but ever since Twilight I associate vampires and werewolves together :P

I've read the Shiver series. It was good :) and Night Huntress is a good series too if you don't mind the occasional graphic sex scene.

I need to read Morganville Vampires! I found out my library has it along but they just put it in the kid's room :O

Haha.. happens to me too! I go to the children's section to get some books, and even the librarians are like what.. haha it's not my fault I'm a little kid at heart.

The last time I did that the librarian was like "oh thats the childrens section" im like "uh i know"..she looked embarrassed. Yea not our fault at all!

the 5th was so great!im excitrd for the sixth but i saw some ppl really hate it!

It's really hard to conclude a series.

I always like a good ending, but yes it must be difficult. Especially since you want to keep everyone happy but cant satisfy everyone. I liked the last book. there was still action, rose was still a badass, it was surprising...and ill stop there because i dont want to ruin anything.

yeah alot of endings can be dispointing! I think I'll like the 6th book though. So far I'veloved them all although i thought the first 3 were better than the 4th and 5th.

yeah I think youll like it! I didnt like the 4rth as much but only because Rose seems weak in that one..she annoyed me and I wanted to give up on it.

HAha yeah me too. I always liked Christian and then Adrian showed up and I said "Screw Dimitri. This guy is better!"

He really is! Let him be stroigi who cares and then someone could kill him in the future! I wish she didn' heisiate all the times and killed him instead of Lissa doing it!

When he turned Strigoi I was happy! Yeah I wish she would have just done it. Maybe then again she doesnt deserve Adrain, I mean she oonly used him!

I didn't want him to turn Strigoi but I didn't want those two together either. Yeah she used Adrian and never really realized how great and kind he was to her!

I cant wait until you read the final one!

I know what you mean. I was going to get Bloodlines but I have about 6 books that I havent had the chance to read, plus 5 more on hold that i need to pick up by thursday and a few more that I own but havent read because I keep getting books from the library.

Oh you haven't read bloodlines yet?! I really want to read it! Adrians in it :)

I also have harry potter and this huge research paper due this friday!

Nope not yet...I was going to read it but I still hadnt read Last Sacrifice and this girl told me that I could read Bloodlines without finishing VA series but I didnt trust her.

yup school has been getting in the way a lot lately..sucks!

Oh I was really tempted to start bloodlines even though I haven't finished the series! But I didn't!

Yeah same here! Ill definitely start it as soon as possible...I mean it has Adrain, I have to.

I still have school in summer but I wont be as busy.
