Is there anyone familiar with Kazuo Koike and Lone Wolf & Cub who can untangle this problem? I'm pretty sure that most of those editions are somewhere in the 1-28 numbered series....

These don't quite match up with the Dark Horse volumes - these are from an earlier run of the title as a prestige format comic. They included different stories, censored the art, etc, and were only 64pp or so compared to 200pp or so for the Dark Horse ones. If I still had these I would have added issue numbers to them, but they're probably best left uncombined with the Dark Horse books. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
