Infernal Devices discussion

A large room filled with spoils of wars. There are cases with fey wings, sets of vampire teeth. Silver bullets in a bowl covered with werewolf blood. The claws of demons. Warlock markings and even a lifesize goblin floating in a tube of perserving liquid. Since Annalise took over the Institute this room has been locked up tight, or to her knowledge it has. In truth it's still wide open.

Annalise paused outside the door and turned to Gregory, "Maybe it would be best for you to wait here...." she suggested.

Gregory rolled his eyes "I know what is behind those doors; It's alright. I can handle it" he smiled politely

Annalise nodded and pushed open the door. Walking inside she spotted a young man with black hair and golden eyes. He smiled when he saw her and she tensed. "Jared." she said cooly.

Jared smiled, "Annalise dear. How nice of you to attend our meeting."

Gregory looked around the room with a grim expression-- especially when he saw the wolf spoils. Gregory leaned against the door wondering who this man was.

Annalise sighed, "Yes, yes your here about the arangement our fathers made. The one where you get to be head of the institute." she sighed. "I need more time to consider things."

Jared frowned, "Whats to consider? A few runes. A wedding. I get my spot as head, you keep your head position and we both can have our loves on the side."

Gregory froze and glared at the man "And why can't she just be head all by herself?" he asked with a small growl in his voice at the mention of a wedding ring.

Annalise bit her lip, as Jared spoke. "Because she's a woman. The Concil only allowed things to occur because the York institute is so minor. And she has a certain flair for werewolves. Any affair with a werewolf and it would be considered as her judgement being biased. She could let crimes you commit go unpunished out of love. This way everyone wins."

Annalise sighed, "Jared." she said warningly, "Time. Give me time."

Gregory narrowed his eyes at the man "There is an institution in London run by a woman as well. And you should trust me to make punishments for my own pack. We don't let breaking the law just pass. Obviously Annalise doesn't want to marry you. forcing yourself on her is a punishable crime and could be considered unfit for a respectable nature towards a lady" Gregory growled out slowly, calling Annalise by her first name for the first time.

Annalise blinked, startled by his sudden burst of protectivness.

Jared frowned, "One week Anna. That's the limit or I will be forced to take matters to the Concil." he turned and stalked out of the room leaving a very pale Annalise in his wake.

Gregory's hands were clenched in fists as he tried to control his anger "I won't let that man touch you Miss Ravenwood" he growled out "I promise you that!"

Annalise sighed and shook her head, "Gregory, please relax. His points are valid, but I will find a loophole. I always do." she nodded and walked over to him. Taking his fist in her hand she shook her head, "I prefer Annalise to Ravenwood."

Gregory sighed and looked at her, his hands shook with anger "That man is inflicting himself on you" he whispered

Annalise shook her head and touched the side of his face, cradeling his cheek. "Gregory. Please calm down." she said softly and shook her head, "You're scaring me." she said softly.

Gregory took a deep breath and assumed the face of someone who would be calm "Alright, I'm calm" he whispered though his heart continued to pound "I won't let him marry you Annalise" he whispered

Annalise raised a brow, "Because you want to marry me?" she asked and watched him curiously with wide eyes and a quizatory brow. She sighed and held his hand looking down at their intertwined fingers.

Gregory shook his head "No!" he paused "well yes of course I want to be with you Miss Annalise but I won't let him marry you because it is obvious you don't want to marry him"

Annalise sighed, "What if I do? It's the only way I can keep my spot as Head." she shook her head and frowned, "I just...." she trailed off.

Gregory frowned "Why can't you be head any other way?" he shook her head "You just what my lady?"

"I cant be head because I'm a woman. And I care for you." She shook her head and ran a hand through her hair. "I just can't loose this spot. If I loose my position then I dont know what I'd do with my life."

Gregory frowned "What if you kill me?" he whispered, an idea spreading through him "What if I supposedly break a law and you kill me for it! They would respect you!"

Annalise flinched in horror, "No!" she scowled and shook her head, "No way. I would never kill you." she said her skin paling at the idea.

Gregory sighed and rubbed his face with his very large hands "Alright alright--" he glanced at her "What happened to the cold Annalise that hated every werewolf?"

Annalise smirked, "One very prude gentleman named Gregory imprinted upon me." she said and shrugged, "And that annoyingly prude gentleman proved to me that love still exists, that a universe will always bring the best to those who need it."

Gregory smiled and cupped her face gently, he kissed her forehead with a smile "Oh how I love you Annalise" he whispered

Annalise's eyes widened and she blushed lightly, "I think I'm in love with you too." she whispered softly and then smirked, "Even if you are a bit of a prude." she teased.

Gregory chuckled "You know, no matter how long I've lived, I still do not understand the word prude" he shook his head in laughter

Annalise smiled, "You are far too controlled over your male hormones. You should just let your horomones lead the way but you have ti be all proper." she sighed and shook her head.

Gregory chuckled "Well it is incredibly rude if I were to let my hormones just rage out upon you"

"See! Gentlemanly manners again." Annalise shook her head, "It baffles me and I can hardly understand your control. I cant even hide my emotions."

Gregory chuckled "years and years of practice my lady--it comes with being alpha"

Annalise sighed and shook her head, "Huh, so Alpha. Doesn't that mean you have like a werewolf mate?" she asked curiously frowning slightly but mostly just looking curiously.

Gregory chuckled "Not at all-- the werewolf gene is suppressed by the shadowhunter gene but when the person turns nineteen the gene will come out as well and you will be both. Your young doctor friend seems to be one-- I could smell the genes all over him" Gregory shook his head

Annalise blinked, "Nineteen? And what about this gene being surpressed? Wait does that mean I'm a werewolf? Or Jeremy?" she asked blinking with startlement, "I'm so confused.",

Gregory chuckled and shook his head "Jeremy, your doctor friend? One of his parents were a werewolf so he has a gene-- at nineteen he will turn into a wolf for the first time." Gregory shrugged "Does that make sense?"

Annalise paled but nodded, "So when he's nineteen he'll be banned....." she said softly frowning at the thought. "I wish it wasnt so against shadowhunter customs to be involved with downworlders." she groaned in anger.

Gregory frowned "banned? what do you mean banned?" he shook his head with a sigh "And trust me-- the boy has no clue of what he is."

"Its against the laws for downworlders to be part of the shadowhunters. If anyone knows he's a werewolf he'll loose his shadowhunter rank and be banished from Idris." Annalise said softly and sighed.

Gregory frowned "Then it must be kept a secret...." he muttered "I can find ways to let him change with my pack in secrecy"

Annalise nodded, "We will have to speak with him. Oh dear, could this be what Jared could use against me? If he knows....." she trailed off, "I have to accept.", she whispered.

Gregory shook his head fiercely "no, no you can't!" he took her hands "Promise me you won't except Jared's marriage-- if you do I don't know if I will be able to keep myself from tearing his throat out" Gregory whispered in fear

Annalise bit her lip, "I have to protect Jeremy. And Jared knows that I would. He knows my every weakness. Especially you." she said and exhaled loudly. "I can't be selfish anymore."

Gregory frowned and shook his head "Jared doesn't even know who I am Annalise-- other than the fact that he knows I am a werewolf"

Annalise frowned, "He knows I'm attatched to you and u fortunately he knows my history with werewolves. He knows everything about me.....Our parents have wanted us joined since my birth."

Gregory growled deep into his chest "If that man lays a hand on you I'll kill him"

Annalise sighed, "He'd never harm me like Nicholas. He'd only control me through political word play, and sadly the only way to defeat him there is to outplay him."

Gregory smirked "Then we must outplay him yes?" he looked around at the spoils room "Dreaded place really"

Annalise nodded, "I usually keep it locked." she muttered, "We should go somewhere else to talk. Where do you want to discuss our plan of action?" she asked.

Gregory nodded "Yes please-- and I do not mine though I have to say I'm famished"

Annalise nodded, taking his hand she smiled, "Dining room then?" she asked curiously moving towards the door already.
