“Are you implying that shreds of my reputation remain intact?" Will demanded with mock horror. "Clearly I have been doing something wrong. Or not something wrong, as the case may be."
He banged on the side of the carriage. "Thomas! We must away at once to the nearest brothel. I seek scandal and low companionship.”

I've always loved how Jace and Will hate ducks so this is some of my favorite quotes about ducks!“Jem and Will had set up camp on one of the long tables in the back of the library, ostensibly to help advise her, but more likely, it seemed, to mock and be amused by her consternation. “You point your feet out too much when you walk,” Will went on. He was busy polishing an apple on his shirtfront, and appeared not to notice Tessa glaring at him. “Camille walks delicately. Like a faun in the woods. Not like a duck.”
“I do not walk like a duck.”
“I like ducks,” Jem observed diplomatically. “Especially the ones in Hyde Park.” He glanced sideways at Will; both boys were sitting on the edge of the high table, their legs dangling over the side. “Remember when you tried to convince me to feed a poultry pie to the mallards in the park to see if you could breed a race of cannibal ducks?”
“They ate it too,” Will reminisced. “Bloodthirsty little beasts. Never trust a duck.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Angel
Jem,Tessa and Will
I absolutely love this, because Jace doesn't like ducks either. Lol.
Here's some more quotes-
“Tessa touched his wrist lightly with her hand. "Be brave," she said. "It's not a duck, is it?”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Princess
Will and Tessa
“Their oldest child, James, had spoken laughingly about Will's unrelenting fear of ducks and his continual battle to keep them out of the pond at the family home in Yorkshire.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Princess
Tessa and James
The duck quotes never get old I love them so much I don't know why.
This scene always makes me laugh. Shows how well Tessa deals with Will. Will: " I have an assignation in Soho this evening with a certain attractive someone."
Tessa: "Goodness. If you keep seeing Six-Fingered Nigel like this , he'll expect you to declare your intentions."
Jem choked on his tea.
my favorite quote is from my charming man, Will Herondale! " We live and breathe words. It was book that kept me from taking my own life after I thought I could never love anyone, never be loved again. It was book that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me and I with them. "
Described me perfectly like. I think it described a booknerd like us. Oh Wil♥♥
"There is no great secret. You endure what is unbearable, and you bear it. That is all." - Magnus Bane"I am catastrophically in love with you." - Will Herondale
There are so many more incredible quotes. Cassandra Clare is a gem. No pun intended.
This series is full of gems (see what I did there). I love the this one: "Life is a book and there are a thousand pages I have not read."
There are so many I love, but here are a few of my favorites:"Whatever you are physically, male or female, strong or weak, ill or healthy - all those things matter less than what your heart contains. If you have the soul of a warrior, you are a warrior. Whatever the color, the shape, the design of the shade that conceals it, the flame inside the lamp remains the same. You are that flame." - Jem Carstairs, Clockwork Angel
"Our hearts, they need a mirror, Tessa. We see our better selves in the eyes of those who love us." - Jem Carstairs, Clockwork Prince
"If no one in the entire world cared about you, did you really exist at all?" - Tessa Grey, Clockwork Angel
"The good suffer, the evil flourish, and all that is mortal passes away." - Magnus Bane, Clockwork Prince
"Nothing ever disturbs your circles, does it, Henry?" - Wil Herondale, Clockwork Prince
"And what color do you suppose the inner depths of your soul are, Will Herondale?" "Mauve," said Will.
"Mrs. Branwell, we fear, has run mad with power. She must be stopped before it is too late and many brave Shadowhunters have fallen by the wayside for lack of feminine care." - Gideon and Gabriel Lightwood, Letter to Consul Wayland, Clockwork Princess
I also love the literary quotes she includes. They fit perfectly with the characters and story. One of my particular favorites is when Will quotes Milton's Satan when thinking about how Jem's "expansive kindness" makes him feel: "Abashed the Devil stood,/ And felt how awful goodness is." - Will Herondale, Clockwork Princess (from John Milton, Paradise Lost)
My favorite quotes are:"One must always be careful of book and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us. "(Tessa Gray)
" A name you choose for yourself could tell you the story of what your destiny will be and who you intend to become."( Tessa Gray)
“Demon pox, oh demon poxJust how is it acquired?
One must go down to the bad part of town
Until one is very tired.
Demon pox, oh demon pox, I had it all along—
Not the pox, you foolish blocks,
I mean this very song—
For I was right, and you were wrong!"
Me sitting here and worrying about what else Will might be right about.
On page 45 of Clockwork Princess and I NEED TO FINISH.
