Matthew Weber (789matt2) | 31 comments I am at chapter five right now in the Hunger Games at this moment and I think the book is actually getting pretty good now. For the first three chapters I think that the book is kind of boring and slow-paced, but now it has started to speed up and become better. I have already read the book and the one after it and I think they are both very good books!

message 28: by Mason (new)

Mason Cothran | 14 comments I have already read The Hunger Games, but it is nice to re-read it. It is truly an amazing book! Collins doesn't skimp on the detail, nor do we get a detail overdose. The grammar is not perfect, but then again, we are "listening in" on Katniss's thoughts. People don't generally think in complete sentences, so it's okay. I DON'T like how Katniss seems so girly when she sees her dresses, after being so humorless and indifferent. Albeit, the change is gradual, but when you look at the bigger scheme of things, it's just wierd to see the dramatic girl I had liked to read about reduced to a giggling... well... girl.

It IS an amazing book. It's something of a page-turner, but it doesn't go by fast. It's a pretty cool book.
