Sarah-Elizabeth walked through the park. Annoyed with the heavy and large cream skirts that weighed her down she bunched the fabric in her hands and hoisted the skirt up as she walked. Not far enough to be indecent but enough so that her ankles showed and that she was able to move faster without tripping over her godforsaken skirts all the time.
Christopher was walking through the park, looking for any sign of where Christine had gone. She had said she was going to the park, but he had a feeling she had been lying. Now that feeling seemed to be confirmed. His sister had never lied to him before and this worried him... It wasn't like her. Not having secrets was part of being twins. Suddenly a terrible feeling of guilt overcame him. He himself had been keeping a secret from her for years.(Should I make him have the Sight?)
[If you want sure] Overcome by the joy of the sunshine above her and the sound of children laughing at the park, Sarah began to twirl and spred her arms out as she spun. She laughed and then crashed into something warm and living. Stumbling she flushed, "Oh dearie, I'm so sorry. I'm usually not so clumsy. Are you alright?" She asked sweetly, her eyes wide at the idea of hurting or offending this stranger.
(I decided he should, after all, Christine's his twin so...)Christopher stumbled slightly. "Oh, no, it was totally my fault, I'm sorry miss," he said unable to allow a lady to take the fault for anything. He was too much of a gentlemen. "I'm Christopher," he said, bowing slightly. He was always formal about introductions and his sister was constantly teasing him about it. Of course he ignored her and never held it against her. It was just who he was.
[okay. cool]Sarah blinked, and froze for a moment before remembering her lady training and quickly cutseied. "I really must take the blame though, I was the one spinning like a child's top toy." She said and shrugged before holding out her hand and shaking his, "I'm Sarah-Elizabeth. Most people call me Sarah though. Nice to meet your Chris." She said shortening his name and smiling before letting go of his hand.
"It's pleasant to finally meet someone with manners," Christopher said and then quickly added. "Not that I didn't expect you to have anything, it's just my sister... Well it's not that she doesn't have any either she simply- oh forget it," he said, his face reddening slightly. He didn't often stutter, and he knew that Christine would laugh if she saw him right now... He knew she'd simply be joking, but for him it was a matter of pride, dignity, and honor.
Sarah bit her lip and held in a laugh until he finished talking and then giggled, seeing his blush she hurried to explain, "Oh, none offense to yourself. Merely that the fact of me having manners. I've spent my whole life trying to run away from them and come crashing into you like a silly school girl and yet I have manners. I'm startled to see the company you surround yourself with, Chris." She laughed again, laughing at herself rather than at Christopher.
"That sounds like my sister. She's nice, but she doesn't do it the way rules and etiquette teaches... You'd probably like her, but then again, everyone does," Christopher said, thinking of his twin. This also led him to begin to worry all over again. Where is she? he fretted. The whole lying thing made him nervous... The two of them had long given up trying to keep secrets from each other, and so this surprised him quite a bit.
Sarah nodded, "You look worried. Perhaps I can help?" she asked curiously, knowing full well her cousin wouldnt want her to home so early and that if Christopher told her no she'd be rather bored until ahe would be able to return to the house. Judging from how his expression had chaned with the mentioning of his sister she could only guess that it had something to do with her.
"Maybe... It's my sister, Christine. She said she'd be here, but... She's not and I'm a bit worried. She's always so sure of herself I'm afraid she might get into trouble," Christopher admitted. He didn't mention that she had been leaving the house a lot lately, or that he often smelled a bit of alcohol on her. It was a fear that he hid from even himself that kept him from saying this, the fear that he was loosing his sister, bit by bit.
Sarah frowned, "Hmm alright. Well, lets go search the streets of London." she smiled and grabbing her skirts and hoisting them up slightly she walked purposefully across the park, heading towards two demons that were lurking by some bushes. She smiled as she headed towards them, seemingly oblivious to the two loathsome creatures.
Christopher spotted the demons and searched for any excuse not to go near them. He hated the creatures that seemed to be invisible to anyone but him. Perhaps they weren't real, but he had once gotten scratched by one and the wound had been real enough. "Perhaps we should take a path that's more open? You never know who lurks in the shadows..." he asked, slightly nervously.
Sarah shook her head, "Oh no, we have to go this way." She nodded and headed towards the demons. Stopping in front of them she bent dwon and spoke to the nearest one, "Have you seen a girl like this guy but as a girl?" she asked sweetly an frowned when the demons both raced off. Sighing she straightened and shook her head, "I hate it when they do that." she muttered crossly.
Christopher was staring at the girl. He had no idea that other people could see the demons and monsters that he saw. He also could never imagine speaking to one. They always either ignored him, stared at him, or attacked him. None of them ever looked at him in any way that could be described near friendliness either.
Sarah looked at Christopher an raised a brow, "You look like my hair turned pink. What's wrong?" she asked, having always thought everyone could see what she saw. After all, Jared saw what she did and so did her Aunt. She had always had the creatures run away from her.
"You see them... The creatures..." Christopher whispered, generally shocked. Never had he met someone that could see them before, at least not knowingly. Perhaps he did know someone, but they didn't tell him, but he had no way of knowing about that. He also didn't expect her to react as if they were... Normal. That surprised him the most.
