((I like all of your awkward entrances :P))Hayden walked into the garden and set Ginny down on one of the benches. He sat down next to her. He had a feeling this was going to be a long night.
((yup!))Hayden was leaning back on the bench, arms folded and hat pulled down to block out the sun. He had been utterly exhausted last night and had fallen asleep waiting for Ginny to wake up. He stirred slightly in his sleep as afternoon sunlight streamed through a thin gap between his hat and his face.
Ginny sat on the other side of the bench, watching the flowers around silently. She stifled the urge to yawn, and ran her fingers through her hair. She had only woken a couple of minutes ago, and closer to Hayden then she would have liked. "Morning sunshine." she commented, his movements catching her eye.
Hayden jerked awake and took his hat off of his face. He looked around, momentarily forgetting where he was. "Morning? More like afternoon," he said, glancing up at the sky. He turned to her. "You okay?" he asked.
"I'm perfectly fine." she said, stretching out her arms dramatically. "Splitting headache gone, hairs still red, your were being quite. It was nice while it lasted." Ginny said, meeting his eyes with a genuine smile.
Hayden returned her smile. "Yeah, well I'm glad you enjoyed it because it's not goign to happen again," he said.((gotta go eat))
"I figured as much." she sighed, rolling her eyes. Ginny face became more serious. "I do want to thank you though. I don't really remember...everything." she said, hesitantly. It did tend to happen when she got those kind of headaches. "But I know you helped me."
"You're welcome," Hayden replied, nodding to her. He had actually been pretty worried about her last night and was glas she was okay, but he wasn't about to tell her that. "So the Destroyer shadow things? They're gone now?"
Ginny blushed, realizing he probably thought she was crazy from some of the things she must have said. But why did it matter? She shrugged, "I guess. I've never, you know, not gone out to them."
"Well I'm just glad it's all over," Hayden said, running a hand through his dark hair. "That kind of thing doesn't happen often, does it?"
"No..." she said, dragging the word out. Ginny looked at him curiously, "Why did you help me? And your still here." she said, raising her eyebrows, baffled.
"I helped you because, no matter how warped or twisted it may be, I still have a soul and I wasn't going to leave you there unconscious," Hayden replied. "And I'm still here because I fell asleep and just woke up about five minutes ago," he added, smirking.
Ginny smirked back, "Oh. And here I thought you were too cool to care." she laughed, running her hands through her hair. "I don't need someone to take care of me." she added, becoming uncomfortable that he had helped her that way. She saw it as her being weak.
"I'll keep that in mind next time you're laying unconscious in the mud," Hayden said a little bitterly. "It doesn't mean I don't think you're perfectly capable," he told her.
"It doesn't mean I'm not thankful." she snapped, disliking his tone. Ginny glared out at the flowers. Did he know he was just impossible to be around sometimes? She sighed, her hands tightening into fists.
Hayden rolled his eyes. "Then what's the problem?" he asked. "Everytime I do something decent, you complain about it. Why can't you just accept help?"
Ginny's eyes flared, "He knows." she hissed. "If I can't do things on my own, how am I supposed to defend myself? No one else will do that."
"Who knows- Oh," Hayden said, realizing who she was talking about. "What happened last night was a very different circumstance. That kind of strength and the strength you need to defend yourself at home are different," he said. "And for the record, I think you're strong enough to deal with whatever comes your way."
"Physically." she muttered, barely audible. Ginny tapped her fingers on the bench little, slowly calming down. "My gosh. I really need to control my temper." she commented, smiling in the slightest.
Hayden heard her and frowned, but didn't say anything. He laughed at her next question. "Well, if you're looking for advice on anger issues, I'm definitely the wrong person to ask."
"Figures." she said, giving him a smile. "Were probably the two worst people to be around each other." she said, honest. They were to much alike to stand each other.
"Yeah, probably," Hayden agreed. He'd never really thought about that before, but she was right. "We're both too angry, too stubborn and frankly, way too attractive for our own good," he said, nodding his head gravely.
Ginny snorted, amused at the last part. "I'm sure. I think you think your to attractive for your own good. I think your mildly delusional." she stated, trying to keep her tone serious.
"That is also very possible," Hayden said. "Although there are way worse things than being delusional. At least I'm confident in my delusions."
"That isn't something to be proud of..." she said slowly, grinning. "Sounds like a bit of a mental case if you ask me." Ginny was surprised to find herself enjoying this...
Hayden shrugged. "I've been called worse. Maybe we're all just a little mental." He turned to face her. "Look me in the eyes right now and tell me you're completely and one hundred percent sane," he challenged.
Ginny turned to him fully, folding her legs in front of her on the bench. She met his eyes, and it was odd to just outright look at him for so long. Okay. So maybe he was super attractive. "I'm completely one hundred percent sane." she said slowly, clearing enunciating the words. She kept his gaze, but her lips twitched with a smile.
Hayden didn't break eye contact, although it took some self control to only look at her eyes. He raised an eyebrow. "Either you are totally sane, which I find incredicly hard to believe, or you are an amazing liar," he said, cracking a smile.
Ginny felt her face go warm, but she was determined to make him look away first. "Or I'm simply excellent." she retorted, cocky smile in place. She wasn't being serious of course...she was in fact a decent liar though.
"I guess I can believe that," Hayden admitted, still holding her gaze. "But I always assumed excellent people were always slightly insane," he said.
"I guess they do come one in the same. But I am sane?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. Ginny hadn't yet looked away. It was getting weird, and more embarrassing by the second to read all the amused emotions emanating from his dark eyes.
Hayden laughed as he watched her. He was completely comfortable, she was extremely pretty and he didn't find it hard to stare at her. "Oh, so now you're asking me? In my professional opinion, you are anything but sane. I'm sorry but it's incurable," he said with a smile.
"That was cute." she remarked sarcastically, "Want a cookie?" Ginny tucked a lose piece of hair behind her ear, and continued the stare down. Now it was as if he was mocking her, daring her to look away. But she didn't. "And what makes your opinion professional?"
"Do you really have cookies? Because I don't approve of empty promises," Hayden said in a mock scolding tone. "And I'm a self-proclaimed professional," he replied.
Ginny scoffed, "Well considering you are the person on question, your opinion is considered biased. On prior records of arrogance, and exceeding amounts of incorrect opinions preceding this event. Your objection, is overruled." she said, eyes amused.
"I saw the opportunity, I took it." she replied, as if it was simple. Ginny shifted, wondering when he would just look away. It had been at least 3 minutes already.
((So are we gonna' RP Spencer and Mandy? ))
((So are we gonna' RP Spencer and Mandy? ))
"That tends to happen when someone stares at me like I'm a giant billboard." she commented, cheeks going light pink. Ginny couldn't help but being embarrassed, she normally avoided looking into people's eyes...it was just one of those personal things...if you could read her eyes, her thought would come shortly after. And his eyes were doing funny things to her thoughts.
((Doesn't matter to me. :P ))
((Doesn't matter to me. :P ))
"I don't think they make billboards as beautiful as you," Hayden said, still refusing to look away. "Feel free to compliment me back," he added with a smile.((Kay, I'll post somewhere))
Ginny rolled her eyes, and looked away pointedly. She never did take compliments well. "You have no boundaries." she commented, stating fact. "And that was probably the worst pick up line I've heard in my life."
Hayden smirked. "I win," he said, sticking his tongue out at her. "You're right. Boundaries are meant to be crossed. And if you'd like to hear more bad pick up lines, I have an extensive collection."
Ginny shot him a quick glare. She wouldn't have looked away if he hadn't said something about her like that. "I never said they were meant to be crossed, I was implying you have no sense of them." she commented, not to be confused. "And I don't care too."
"You don't care about my lack of boundaries?" Hayden asked, surprised. He slid closer and leaned in so that they were only inches apart, testing her. "Because I always assumed you were more of the distant type," he mused, cocking his head to the side a little.
Ginny gasped, and leaned away, almost off the bench. "I meant I don't care to hear you pick up lines." she said, sourness lacing her tone. She actually didn't mind him in her space, that was the problem.
