I have currently finished the fiction book The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket, the first book of the Series of Unfortunate Events. It is about the three Baudelaire children who face unexpected, bizarre problems that they themselves never thought they would encounter. These unfortunate events started when their house set on fire by a mysterious man that they tried to get a hold of throughout the entire book. When the house was on fire, their parents were inside and burned down along with the entire house, their belongings, and their only source of shelter that they had ever been exposed to. The Baudelaire children, however, were one hundred percent safe because just a second before the fire started, they left the house to go on a walk along the beach. The antagonist, the mysterious man who had burned down the house, had never showed his face to these kids (yet…). The oldest of the Baudelaire children, Violet, and her younger brother, Klaus, are attempting to uncover who this mystery man may be. The youngest of the Baudelaire children, Sonny, is merely a baby of at least two years old, so she, unfortunately, will suffer the most in this series. After the Baudelaire had discovered what had happened to their parents and their house, they start to go on a bewildering journey that faces the dangerous risk of losing lives, along with the encounter of multiple unfortunate events.

I loved re-reading this book because it was like I had never actually read it before! I encountered new things that I never actually gave a single thought about and I noticed the subtle details that Lemony Snicket had put into the book to make things more anxious and exciting. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery or is in for a good read. And there is always the option of reading just for fun. This is definitely a very delightful book and I recommend you all to read it!!

I have currently finished the fiction book Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. This book is about a seagull named Jonathan who experiences life in different matters and weighs options differently than we do. Over the course of time and his physical strength to fly and be free, he learns that being given a chance to live is something remarkable, and that we must not take it for granted. There is not really a lot to summarize about this book because it is short and includes some pictures of actual seagulls… But basically, to sum it all up, it is about the protagonist named Jonathan who learns to live life freely, although many people hold him back from doing so. He has a flock of seagulls that he flies with everywhere, but eventually begins to roam off and live freely without following the acts of others. This was Jonathon’s dream: to live freely because he feels that he should not take advantage of what he is already given.

This was a beautiful book. I really liked it because it showed me that life is more than just a simple thing that we are given, or chosen, to live. It showed me that we are all living for a reason, and we must not take things for granted because some day, it might all just disappear within the blink of an eye. I know this sounds corny, but this book is actually really poignant and I recommend this to anyone who is in for a simple, but moving read.

I have currently finished reading the non-fiction book Marley: A Dog Like No Other by John Grogan. This book is about the protagonist/the author, John Grogan, who plans to develop a wonderful family after his marriage with his wife. First, he goes out to buy Marley, a sweet, innocent dog, born only a couple days before they bought him. The wonderful couple thought that he would be the most obedient dog; however, they thought wrong. When they gave birth to their first child, Marley caused more problems for them than they had actually hoped for. He slobbered all over the place and ate so sloppily that their house was almost covered in dog food. He ate so much that he grew incredibly big, and pooped so frequently. And when the couple finally adjusted to this chaotic environment, they decided to conceive two more children. Thus, their family was almost always busy. However, one day, Marley got very sick. He was so sick that he had to sleep in the ER at the vet. They soon delivered horrible news that could change Marley’s family forever. Their family soon learns that although Marley was a handful, he was a part of their life that would remain forever.

This book is amazing. I read it in fifth grade, when the book first came out, along with the movie. It was so good… It put me to tears. I never thought that a dog could teach humans to love like they do. The ending was so sad. I really wish that things would’ve turned out for the better for their entire family… However, their family has learned to love and live like they could never learn from anyone but Marley. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sob story and also enjoys the company of dogs.

I have currently finished the realistic fiction book Matilda by Roald Dahl. It is about an intelligent girl named Matilda who lives with her horrible parents who mistreat her, even though she is actually a sweet, wonderful, bright girl. Matilda, the protagonist, practically lives in the library and always has her nose in a book. She doesn’t have many friends because they all despise her parents. She doesn’t want to stay at home because she knows that her parents will mistreat her. She also likes to go to the library because she loves the librarian. She is practically the only girl who treats her like she deserves. Matilda expands her knowledge through books, and also learns the sense of revenge towards her parents. Matilda learns how to be independent and intelligent at the same time, which are the key characteristics of becoming mature.

I loved this book because it is actually really adorable. If you think about it, you can picture yourself in Matilda’s shoes; your parents are evil like the devil and all you have left is books, revenge, and curiosity. This is actually very different from any book that I have ever read. I would call it distinct because I have not read one book where such a young, adorable girl could go through so much and learn so much at the same time! Even as a teenager, I admire Matilda’s intelligent characteristics and her wonderful eagerness to educate herself, as well as others.

I have currently finished re-reading the book The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. It is about a china doll named Edward who is owned by Abilene Tulane, who cherishes Edward as though he is her own son. She dresses him, takes care of him, and feeds him! The Tulane family is very wealthy, and buys gold watches and silk clothing for Edward. This causes Edward to have a selfish manner and must have all the attention on him, although he cannot speak. One day, Abilene takes him on a cruise where he experiences new things, such as observing the sea for the first time. However, when Abilene hands Edward over to a couple of boys who asked to hold Edward for a bit, he gets thrown off board and into the sea for many, many years. Edward waits and waits. Until one day, a fisherman happened to fish him out and brings him home. He shows him to his wife, Nelly, who dresses him up in girl clothes that are too small to fit their daughter. Their daughter, a stubborn teenager, soon decides to abolish Edward because he is taking up all her attention in the house. So Edward is again abandoned. Then he is picked up by a homeless man and his dog. The abandoned feeling persistently catches up with Edward, no matter how comfortable he is feeling with an owner. After having multiple owners, he soon ends up in a doll shop where he makes conversation with other dolls who were abandoned. He soon learns that love is an important factor in life and that everyone living must have in order to feel complete.

This is my favorite book of all time. I love it because it actually taught me something, although the book is easy and there are pictures. I learned that love is very important to life, and without it, there is no point in being alive. I read this book when I was in fifth grade. Anything I read before this did not teach me as much as this book did. This book was the first poignant book I’ve read, and thus, it will remain to be my favorite book ever. I learned so much from it. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read something about love without the actual kissing, groping, etc. It actually teaches the moral of love.

I have currently finished the fiction book The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. It is about a group of children named Reynard, Sticky, Kate, and Constance, who are chosen to go on a dangerous mission that involves mysterious things that need to be uncovered. They will have to go into an institution to uncover certain things about the students who attend this school. The only rule here are that there are no rules! This makes things difficult for Mr. Benedict, the man who is controlling the entire mission. After spending multiple weeks of attempting to pass difficult tests, learning Morse Code, and doing more intense things than regular kids do, they uncover something that could change the world and Mr. Benedict’s fate, as well as the four intelligent children that were involved in this perilous mission.

I personally thought that this book was just like any other book. I read it before with Max B., I think it was, in the sixth grade. I thought it was alright… I never got to reading the other ones because I personally didn’t like the first one. The only thing I learned from this book is that knowledge overrules everything. If you have the knowledge to do something challenging, don’t hesitate. JUMP AT THE CHANCE! I admire each and every one of the Mysterious Benedict Society’s members because they are all intelligent by nature, and have a distinct eagerness to learn more.

I have currently finished the realistic fiction book Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. It is about a girl named Esperanza who has grown up in a wealthy family. Her father owns a grape field and her mother takes care of their house, along with their house servants. Esperanza’s thirteenth birthday was coming up and her father was out to work, like usual. However, that night, he did not come back. Their family was so worried, especially when it got dark. The news was delivered that their father was murdered by Esperanza’s uncle, Uncle Tio. He is the owner of a bank, and he declared that now that the bank owner had passed away, he must have all their money, as well as their house and grape field. Esperanza was devastated and overwhelmed. But then, Esperanza’s family decides to escape their living environment and so they moved to a field far, far away from them. Riches to rags, Esperanza must work to get wealthy, and soon learns that money is not everything. She also learned that family is what matters the most.

I loved this book! It was the book I read right after The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. I learned something as deep as I did in Edward Tulane, thus making this one of my favorite books! I thought this book was amazing because I actually observed how Esperanza experienced helping her family out. I recommend this book to anyone who would like to learn something emotionally moving.

I have currently finished the realistic fiction book Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney, otherwise known as the second book of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. It is about a teenager named Greg Heffley who just had the worst summer of his entire life. He definitely doesn’t want to talk about it, according to this book. One event in particular, involving his older brother Rodrick will be forever engraved into his mind. He attempts to forget and have a wonderful, fresh start at his school. Similar to the other Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and like most teenagers who relate to these books, Greg tries his best to just fit in, make friends, impress girls, and, most importantly, keep his summer secret.

This book was amusing in so many different levels! I loved it because it isn’t a serious book like every other book in the entire world. The cartoons make things fun for the reader and, although it is a frivolous and childish book, we all know that deep down, we can relate to Greg’s fear of fitting in and being “normal” along with everyone else. Jeff Kinney had the nerve to right something that many people cannot admit themselves, no matter what. This is what I like about these books, and this book I n particular. I recommend this book to teenagers, and teenagers ONLY!

I have currently finished the realistic fiction book Charmed and Dangerous by Lisi Harrison. This book is about the protagonist, Massie Block. This is a remake of the first book of The Clique series. It is actually very interesting because you get to see very different sides of each of the members of the PC (Pretty Committee) before they met each other. You have to read all the books before, however, or else you won’t see that this book is the missing puzzle piece that connects all the points together. Massie, Alicia, Kristen, Dylan, and Claire are all a part of the PC. The antagonist is nothing because no matter what, the PC was meant to be together in some way or form. However, this is the beginning of the beginning… A book you won’t ever forget!

I liked this book because it is very amusing. This series exaggerates (A LOT) the female characteristics of teenage girls. We don’t always go shopping or hang out with friends. However, this book illustrates multiple things (such as boys, school, etc.) that involve the logic of teenage girls, which are true. One thing I hate about this book is the common stereotypes that the author makes towards teenage girls. However, this book is fun to read and actually a laugh-out-loud book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read books about teenage girls and their social problems that involve crazy, (and if you think about it) stupid things that we all learn to regret in the future.

Lydia I have just finished reading the realistic fiction book "Prom & Prejudice" by Elizabeth Eulberg. The protagonist of this book is Lizzie Bennet, a music student currently enrolled in Longbourn Academy. The antagonist of this book is Wick, a former student at Pemberley Academy. The major conflict in this book is when Lizzie a girl attending Longbourn Academy on a scholarship believes that she is against all of the students attending Longbourn because she isn't as rich; however, Lizzie then captures the attention of a rich Pemberley boy named Will as well a former Pemberley scholarship boy named Wick. Wick seems perfect on the outside but the more Lizzie learns about Wick the more unsure she is about him and what he did in the past to have such a bad history as well as to have been kicked out of Pemberley.

I really enjoyed this book because in Pride and Prejudice it involves all of the same things; however, instead of reading a book written the 19th century Elizabeth Eulberg takes the plot into modern time. In this book it includes what every girl dreams of prom, dresses, and snagging the perfect date. However, it get's even more interesting when there are those who are against the idea of having a scholarship girl take the attention of the most-wanted boy in Pemberley. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a classic story get brought into modern society. In Prom & Prejudice this is exactly what Elizabeth Eulberg does, she takes a classic tale about forbidden love and brings it into this tie period and add all of the problems that we(age group) face(s) today.

Ronnye G | 35 comments I have finished the book "Cherub:The Recruit" by Robert Muchamore. The protagonist of this book is James Adams, who is an undercover agent who works for a secret organization called "Cherub." Cherub has teens and kids go to missions to try and fight terrorists, drug dealers etc. James, started off living a "normal" life in London England with his mom and and sister. His mom was kind of like a con artist who made people steal things and give it to her so she could make money. But, when his mom dies, he goes to a foster home where things take a turn for the worst. He gets in huge trouble with the police because of what he did with a group of boys, which is rob a beer store. When he is taken by the police, they are not exactly the police. They are Cherub agents who take him to their headquarters, Mac, the leader of Cherub tells him to join Cherub. James returns back to his foster home and thinks about what to do. He chooses Cherub and goes through a test in order to join Cherub. He paces and after a while he meets Amy who is responsible for teaching him how to swim. After this he goes through basic training. In this training, there are some amazing and unbelievable things that occur.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. The reason is because their is a lot of action that occurs in this book and I enjoy that. They also teach you some pretty cool things in this book which is pretty fascinating, but now to the bad things. This book sounded pretty dumb in the beginning because they used elementary language in their descriptions of the setting. I would suggest that the author stop trying to make pointless jokes and start becoming a better author in descriptive language. Although, I do see what he is trying to get at so it is do able. He also makes everything so convenient for James, I mean what other kind of skill does he have? Can he read minds to? I mean make it realistic. This is what I recommend the author to do, to make his book series better.

Lydia I just finished reading the fantasy book "Avalon:Web of Magic Circles in the Stream" by Rachel Roberts. The protagonist of this book is Emily, Adriane, and Kara. The antagonist of this book is the beast and Beasley Windor. The conflict is this book is when Beasley Windor wants to cut down the Ravenswood Wildlife Preserve in order to build a country club; however, Adriane, her grandmother and the rest of the animals all live there and will lose their homes if this happens. The is until Emily moves into town and with the help of the mayor's daughter, Kara they just might be able to save the forest and everybody living in it.

I enjoyed this book a lot because it was about three girls coming from different backgrounds and different interests and coming together to save a piece of the wildlife and the magic that is hidden within it. I would say that i did make some personal connections with this book because it's similar to making friends as well. For instance when you make friends you don't look at their race or what culture they believe in but what you both have in common (and making a chance). In this book Emily was shy, Adriane was very outgoing, and Kara was spoiled girl; they are all three very different but when they needed each other they were there and was lending their hand out, just like best friends are/friends.

I just finished the book 1984 by George Orwell. I am not really sure the genre because the author is describing as what the year 1984 is going to be like. The way Orwell describes that year as being a dystopia. This comes from the point of view if the character Winston Smith, but he is not really the good guy. Some of the examples of this dystopia is that there is a dictator called Big Brother, there are telescreens that watch everyone's move, there is a language called Newspeak and many other things that are weird. I can't say more because now I realize the book is like a journey but maybe not. The book is confusing and if
I try to explain it would make no sense.

I would recommend this book to anyone that would like to read anything that is out of the ordinary. I am really telling anyone that reads 1984 it is not like any book that you have ever read. Even though I haven't read any other book by George Orwell I am wondering what went through his mind while writing the book. How can anyone understand the whole moral of the story. It is a predictive story like the movie 2012 it s all a prediction. What I am really trying to say is that George Orwell is an out of the ordinary author. My own interesting question is: What made you think that the year 1984 would be the way you described it?

Lydia I have just finished reading the realistic fiction book " Because of Winn-Dixie" by Kate Dicamillo. The protagonists in this book are the India, India's father, and Winn-Dixie the dog. The antagonist of this book is the landlord(in my opinion). The conflict of this book is when India has to face all of the obstacles during her time of getting to know Winn-Dixie. India has just moved to town with her father who speaks at a church, India sees Winn-Dixie in trouble at he supermarket she tries to help him by saying that he's her dog; and then the journey of India and Winn-Dixie begins.

I really enjoyed this book because it was a classic tale of a girl trying to learn more about her mother who abandoned them years ago and a girl trying to get along with her new dog. I did not make any personal connections to the book because none if my parents abandoned me or left. Also because I don't have a dog who I can have all the same adventures with like India can.

Luca | 27 comments I just finished reading the fiction book, "Mocking Jay" by Suzanne Collins. The main protagonist is Katnis Everdeen. This book is about the fictional country of Panem rebelling against the capitol who has been oppressing Panem for over one hundred years. The main antagonist is president snow, the leader of the capitol who is in charge of the death of millions.

I liked this book more than any book I have read this year. It is full of excitement and has so many scattered emotions that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. This book is good for anyone who likes a fast paced, action filled book.

Aren Marfey | 34 comments In the book i read named "Ghost of War" written by Ryan Smithson the main character in the book, Ryan, went to the war in Iraq. Ryan joined the army reserve once he got out of high school when he was only 19 years old. He worked as a heavy-equiptment operator in Iraq and it was a very dangerous job to do. While in Iraq Ryan lost friends, almost died, and made friends with some kids from Iraq. Ryan risked his life in Iraq to save american people.

I thought this was a very interesting book but it was good. At the beginning the book is slow but as you get more into it the better it gets. I did not relate this book to my self because i did not really do anything heroic to save peoples lives. I would recommend this book to people who are interested in stories of war and what it is like out on the battlefield. If i would give some advice to Ryan Smithson i would ask him to put an awesome hook page at the beginning of the book so that people don't put the book down by getting board.

Aren Marfey | 34 comments In the book i completed called "Lockdown"written by Alex Smith the main character Alex was sent to the furnace which is the world's most secure prison in the world and is located 1 mile beneath the earths surface. Alex was acussed for a murder he did not even commit so he was sent to the furnace. After discovering the cruel things that happen down there he is going to plan an escape. So Alex and his roommate and a couple others group up and plan a way out. They find balloons and a gas that causes an explosion. So they fill up the balloon with the gas and then float them up a huge vent. When they had enough the blew up the roof and climbed out as fast as they could. And when they got to the top they realized they were out and got so happy they forgot to run away. While they were at the top celebrating the man eating dogs were climbing up the vents and killed everybody except for Alex, Alex was the only one to get away and survive.

I thought that this was an extremely good book it is filled with action, horror and a hint of mystery. I would recommend this book to people who love horror and who don't get grossed out by things very easily. I would not give any advice to the author because i think that this book is really good the way it is. I can relate this to me getting grounded and not being allowed outside and i always tried to sneak out and go outside.

Aidan Farrell | 26 comments I read the book Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This is book number 2 in The Hunger Games trilogy. The Capitol is livid at Katniss Everdeen who made a fool of the Capitol by making there be two winners. The Capitol is so mad that they send Katniss back into the games just because she made a fool of the Capitol. After near the end of the games, the rebels stopped the games and rescued peeta and katniss from facing the games. Katniss figures out that there is actually a district 13 that exists and she goes to live there. She is pretty much the leader of the whole rebel group and she didn't even know it. The reason these people started the revolt was because katniss revealed what the Capitol was doing wrong and how horrible it was. So she is the role model for the whole rebel people.

I really loved this book. I think that the story was just perfect and that the whole science fiction thing was just amazing. I love the ideas that Suzanne Collins comes up with I think that they are very creative in their own special way. I would recommend this book to anybody that I know. This by far has been my most favorite book to read, and definitely the most interesting and creative.

Luca | 27 comments I just read B.F.G by Roald Dahl in one day. It is about a girl named sophie who gets abducted by a big friendly giant (not knowing that he's a friendly giant). But becomes friend with the giant. Later he shows her the other bigger, meaner giants who like to eat people. Since the BFG can create dreams, and nightmares. He creates a nightmare to make the queen of England to capture the Giants.

I love this book I have loved it ever since I was in second grade. It is funny, exciting and just wonderful. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone this is a great, quick read that everyone in the whole world should love. This book is the most silly and most funny out of all of the great Roald Dahl stories

Audie Suydam | 29 comments I have recently finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. In this famous novel, a poor boy named Charlie who has a sweet tooth must do his best to live without the candy he loves so much. However, one day he finds a dollar on the street, and the first thing he does is buy candy bars. Before he knows it, he finds a golden ticket, which was placed in 5 candy bars by Willy Wonka himself to give 5 kids the chance to have a tour around the factory.

I enjoyed this book very much because it is most likely the best book I've ever read, probably because I love Roald Dahl's imagination, and I'm pretty sure all kids do.

Audie Suydam | 29 comments I have recently finished a book called The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. This is the beginning of a thirteen book series about the Baudelaire children, who were messing around at the beach, when they recieve the news that their parents were killed in a cosuming fire that burned down their whole mansion. The kids are then stuck with an evil relative that will soon be figured out to be the perpetrator that ruined these three childrens lives. Now having to deal with the ruin of the life that they once knew.

I enjoyed reading this book because I always like books about kids having to deal with their problems themselves without adult's help. However, I can never imagine a life as terrible as theres, which makes this book even more interesting.

Audie Suydam | 29 comments I have finished a novel called The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. This is the second part of the maze runner trilogy. In this installment, Thomas and the remaining Gladers are tested yet again when a man who is part of WICKED states that they must go through a wasteland to a safezone before the disease called the Flare kicks in and shows the symptoms. Thomas is worried about his friend Teresa, who was abducted before they were told about the task they must complete. Thomas goes through many hardships, and meets many new characters who help them go through the many people that have been effected by the flare who want to hurt the other Gladers. There is many plot twists in this book, that surprise many people who are interested in this series.

I enjoyed this novel because it is another novel about kids who are stuck in an unfriendly enviroment, and have to deal with how to get out of it. I enjoy novels that show kids in control of themselves, and would recommend this trilogy to anyone who agrees with me.

Audie Suydam | 29 comments I have read The Hunger Games. This novel is a very fascinating read, and an exellent modern novel. In this story, a girl named Katniss Everdeen volunteers to be the tribute of her district in place of her sister in a fight to the death against 23 other kids. Katniss understands the unfairness of her government, and begins to think that she must do her best to change the way things are done. Katniss uses what she knows about hunting on the kids around him, and finally (view spoiler).

I enjoyed this book because dystopian novels are some of my favorite kinds of novels, and I always think about a different government then what we have now, and think about if it would be any better than it is now, or perhaps it would be even worse. When thinking about our government now, and all of the people who think this government is terrible and it should be destroyed, how would they think that it would get any better? That is something I thought about after reading this novel.

Guillar K. | 21 comments I finished reading the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I really liked this book because it made me think of how I would feel or what i would do in the type of situation that Katniss Everdeen or Peeta Mellark was in. It made me think of how fortunate I was because the Katniss and Peeta were in a lowers district they practically lived in poverty after their dad died. A personal connection i made with this book is how after my little sister started going to middle school I had to watch after and take care of her kind of like the way Katniss took care of her sister, Primrose. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy suspenseful fiction novels because this book is both suspenseful and fiction.

Max B | 31 comments I just finished reading the book The Wave by Todd Strasser. The book is about a high school history teacher named Ben Ross who starts to teach his senior class about the Nazis and Hitler. The class is interested in the subject and Ben decides to do an experiment. He decides to create a new group called the Wave that is based on three principle: "Strength through community, strength trough discipline, strength through action." The kids are super interested and actually expand the group into a group much like the Nazis, making Mr. Ross the dictator. Only two kids realize that the Wave isn't right, Laurie and David. They set out to stop the Wave and inform Mr. Ross and telling him what's actually happening. Kids are getting beaten up for not joining the Wave, students are not working on their school work and are being anti-semetic.

I loved the book. I thought that the topic was extremely interesting and original. I can't say that I totally relate to the topic but I have seen some cases like it. Sometimes people follow a certain person because they're cool or they think the person is admirable. The person could then force these people to make bad decisions and get them into some trouble. I think that one thing the author could've done better was the writing. I felt as if he didn't put a lot of feeling into the writing. I know he was sort of just re-telling the story (because it was based on a true story) but he could've used more advanced language and more interesting dialogues. Besides that, it was a great book and I recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, fast book.

Aidan Farrell | 26 comments A while ago I finished the book the witch and the wizard. It is about these two kids that get arrested because they a accused to have magic powers. They get sent to a prison and they were assigned to be executed after they turn 18. They keep trying to break out. They figure out that they do have magic and they use that to their advantage. Soon they are put on the highly dangered list and are to be executed I,mediatley. The story takes on from there.

I would recommend this book to anybody that likes fantasy stories. I thought that this book was pretty good. It wasn't my favorite fantasy book but it wasn't my least favorite either. Ilked this book enough to read more books by the same author. I think that the author could have worked a little more on what was going on but overall I think it was pretty good

Cheyenne Brown | 27 comments I have currently finished the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger games is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen that volunteers to be in the Hunger Games. Every year a challenge called the Hunger Games is performed. In the Hunger Games there are 12 districts and two tributes from each district are chosen from each district and they go to a ring to fight and kill each other until 1 person is left standing. Katniss's sister Prim was called to be a tribute so Katniss volunteered. In the ring, Katniss was given and 11 out of 10 and became quickly famous. Katniss became the girl on fire and the other tributes hated her. In the games Katniss and her partner Peeta fought to protect each other and feel in love.

I would recommend this book to anyone because the book is very interesting. I thought this book was amazing , I could not stop reading. I think the author did a great job explaining the scenes and the book was way better than the movie.

He has a device on him that glows blue when a demon is around him. Th e device will take time just for him to get use to shooting it and making sure it shoots out the blue ammo. After a while he started to shoot the weapon and he was able to kill the demons forever.

Guillar K. | 21 comments I recently finished reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This book is the second in The Hunger Games trilogy. In this book Katniss realizes that on the victory tour she must act like she is irrevocably in love with Peeta although her feelings for him are unresolved and unsure. Later she is alarmed by a visit from President Snow who tells her that rebellions are starting in other districts, woth that news Katniss must do her best to actually make it seem as if shes in love with Peeta for the cameras and districts watching. If she fails she could risk the lives of her family and Peeta's. After her victory tour Katniss and Peeta go back home to district twelve and find that the Quarter Quell, an event every 25 years where there is a change in the Hunger Games, is going to have all the victors of the Past Hunger Games to compete. Katniss is distraught and filled with fury since she knew the Capitol did this on purpose. As Katniss and Peeta re-enter the gaames they make mew allies and because of her allies she discovers that the arena is like a clock and adds new obstacles an a scheduled basis. With this information Katnoss takes one of her allies wire coils, ties it aroumd her bow and shoots it at the arenas force field.

I really enjoyedd thus book because it depicted a futuristic nation which makes me wonder if that maybe one day our nation will be as vulgar as this. If I could make a connection to this book it would be how Katniss is always looking out for herself and for other people, especially her sister. For example Also take great care for my sister, cske sacrafices for her and always make sure she is ok.

Cheyenne Brown | 27 comments I have finished Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This is the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy. Now that Katniss and Peeta have arrived home they have been completely famous because of their " love" for each other. President Snow arrives to visit Katniss to tell her that because of her rebellion the districts are now rebelling. President Snow tells Katniss she has to do her best in making the districts believe her and Peeta are in love. If not, her and Peeta's family is at risk. When Katniss and Peeta return home they find out there will be a Quarter Quell. The Quarter Quell happens every 25 years when a change happens in the Hunger Games. Katniss knows the Capitol did this intentionally to see if her and Peeta really love each other. When Katniss and Peeta re-enter the games they have to make new allies. During the games because of her and her allies powers she discover that they have set the games in a order so that every couple of hours they face a new obstacle.

I enjoyed this book because it was very interesting towards the middle and the end. However, the book was not so interesting at the beginning and very hard to grasp on to. I would recommend this book to anyone because it is interesting but you just gave to be patient and it will get interesting.

Cheyenne Brown | 27 comments I have finished reading the book Monster by Walter Dean Myers. This book is about 16 year old Steve Harmon. Steve Harmon is currently in jail for a murder charge and probably will be sentenced to 25 years to life. Steve is in jail because a drugstore robbery happened on December 22nd where money was stolen and Alguenado Nesbitt was killed. There has been many going back and forth and other criminals are coming forward and testifying in court about the robbery scene. Steve is not feeling so confident and thinks he might lose the case. Will he ?

I would recommend this book to teenagers because the book relates to us in many ways. One connection I can make to the book is Steve running away from the problems. I do this when I don't want to believe I am wrong about something. This book is very interesting and I enjoyed reading it.

Jamie G | 31 comments I read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It was about a girl named Susie who was talking a short cut home from school and a guy named George Harvey tells her to at his underground den that he built. There he rapes and murders her with a razor. Throughout the book Susie's parents try to find out what happen to her. They don't want to believe that she died. The protagonist was Susie and the antagonist was George Harvery. The setting was mainly George Harvey's house. The primary conflict was that Harvey murder and raped Susie on her way home from school, and her parents do know what happened to her.

I liked this book because it was very mysterious. I don't think anyone can really relate to this book or make any person connections. I would recommend this book to someone who likes to find out mysteries because the book was a whole mystery to what happened to Susie.

Jamie G | 31 comments I read the memoir Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. It was about Jeanette Walls telling the story of her life, and how she and her family struggled. Jeanette's dad Rex Walls was always drinking and he would disappear for days and steal the grocery money. After a while Jeanette couldn't take it any longer so she left and is telling her story throughout this memoir. The protagonist was Jeanette and the antagonist was Rex. The conflict was that Jeanette had to go through so many struggles with her family.

I liked this book because I liked knowing that this was a true story and it was not fiction. Also I enjoyed seeing how Jeanette Walls wrote about her life and how she changed around her life by leaving her family. I would recommend this book to someone who is going through struggles and problems because then they can relate to Jeanette Walls.

Alice Chen | 33 comments I finished the book Four To Score by Janet Evanovich. This is the fourth book of the series. In the book, Stephanie Plum is a inexperienced bounty hunter. She now has to find this guy called Maxine Nowicki. She is wanted for stealing her boyfriend's car. While following her, Sephanie is shocked when she is threatened by a person. She get messages that they her to back off. Stephanie's car blew up and her apartment blew up too. Stephanie had no choice but to move into Joe Morelli's house for a little while.

I really enjoyed reading this book so much. All the book from book one through book 4 all tell a different story and all have me laughing! It is extremely hard for me to choose between these four book so far. This book compares to the other Janet Evanovich books because this book further invests in the relationship between Stephanie and Morelli. I would recommend this book to people who wants to start reading a funny series.

Alice Chen | 33 comments I have finished the book High Five by JAnet Evanovich. This is the fifth book of the series. okay so in this book, Stephanie Plum's uncle disappeared. Her grandma thinks he was abducted by aliens. HAHAHA. When her uncle disappeared, he left some pictures of what looked like body parts in bags. A whole mystery popped up. Plum then asks Ranger to help her out. He led her to dangerous people/gangs.

This book was amazing which I say about all the books in the series! but this book made me laugh even harder. One thing that I would like to change about this book is how Ranger comes in. It was really confusing and if someone didn't read the previous books, they would have no idea who he was. I would give more background information on him. Other than that, this book was perfect. I would recommend this book to anyone who read the other books.

Alice Chen | 33 comments I read the book Hot Six by Janet Evanovich. It is the sixth book of the series. In this book, both Joe and Stephanie work together to find out the mystery of the murder. They are trying to find out the killer that killed the son of a black-market dealer. This started out like any normal case but then she finds a video where Ranger is there when the killing happened. She is confused whether or not Ranger is innocent because all the evidence points to him. Ranger helped Stephanie a lot on all her other cases.

I liked this book a lot but this book is very different from all the other books. I read this book a while back so I don't remember every single little detail but I know that I didn't laugh at all reading this book. This book was more about the serious mystery and suspense more than the comedy. This would bother me if it was any other book in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who has read all the other books or wants to read a book where Janet Evanovich does not use humor.

Alice Chen | 33 comments I have finished reading the book Seven Up by Janet Evanovich. This is the seventh book of the series. This book brings out her grandma in a more serious way. Stephanie had to bring in this 70 year old man named Eddie DeChooch who didn't go to court when he was suppose to. Her grandma actually dated him a while back and is helping Stephanie in trying to find him. he may be old, but he knows how to hide. Also, Stephanie's parents set up a wedding date for Joe and her but Ranger also wants a single night with her.

This book was okay. One thing I would change about this book is that Joe doesn't appear that much in the book. I was actually looking forward to reading about him!!!! I was so disappointed! I was so excited that he was going to marry her but I felt like Eddie was more important in the book. I recommend this book to anyone who want a REALLY GOOD BOOK!!

Jamie G | 31 comments I read The Future Of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler. It was about two best friends in 1996. Josh's family gets a online CD and Josh's mom tells him to bring it to Emma's house. They install it and they see there Facebook pages fifteen years into the future. Emma and Josh don't know what is going on because Facebook was never invented yet, and every time they refresh there computer there future changes. The primary conflict is that Josh and Emma have to see what they did right and wrong with there lives in the future. The setting is there futures.

I liked this book because it was very interesting to see what there futures were like with using Facebook, since everyone now uses Facebook and they had no idea what it was. I would recommend this book to someone who likes a interesting fiction because this book was not real at all. I think the most aspect of the text was conflict because the book was about Emma's and Josh's problems in the future.

Sebastianlikespie13 | 18 comments In the fiction book that I have currently finished called Solitary by Alex Smith, the main character Alex, has failed to escape his prison Furnace and is now in a hole alone going mad. he still hasn't given up hope with escaping and he's thinking of a new way to escape. Alex also has a friend to help Alex called Simon who he too wants to escape Furnace so they work together to beat the system and find a way out of Furnace. The problem is is that Alex has failed, again and is now caught. What would be his punishment now?
I really liked this book because it was a book that really got me to think a lot and be in Alex's shoes a lot of the times throughout the book and I really enjoy that and find that the author did a splendid job writing this book.
