"Nice catch, Jadefeather!" Foxclaw called and she trotted over to join her friend.

Foxclaw twitched her tail. She didn't know her leader had been watching. She dipped her head."Hello Spiritstar"

Foxclaw trotted away to chase more rabbits. She found one chased it down and collected the rest of her fresh-kill and returned to camp.

Foxclaw grabbed a piece of fresh-kill and quickly finished it off. She curled up in the warriors' den and fell asleep.

Maplenose watched as Foxclaw caught the rabbits. Thinking why is it so easy for her. Then he mumbled to himself "Well I'm a better fighter".

The next morning as Maplenose woke((sp?)) up he decided he was to go out and catch some rabbits for hias clan. He went over to Foxclaw nd asked " Do you want to go hunting with me?"

"Sure" Foxclaw said.

"Okay" as they headed out onto the moor Maplenose said " I know I'm a warrior, but do you think you could teach me to hunt rabbits better. Because you are really good at hunting." He felt a little akward saying that to Foxclaw>

"Sure, I wouldn't mind." Foxclaw said.

"Thanks...umm...could we maybe...um start with catching rabbits?" Maplenose said, feeling stupid cause what else would they try to catch, Fish.

"Sure, that's the only thing to eat around here. First find your target. Then you sneak a little closer, finally you make a break for it. Just remember to step lightly and keep downwind. It's easy said but not done. Most of my talent comes nautrally" Foxclaw said.

"Okay" said Maplenose a little discouraged.

Maplenose looked to his leader and thought this is really embarrassing and said" Thanks, but I don't think I will ever get the hang of catching rabbits." He thought well if I can't do that what use am to the clan?

"Okay, so I just have to find my target and sneak up on it and then make a break for it right?" he asked the two she-cats

As Maplenose was walking he spotted a rabbit munching on some grass. He got low focused on the rabbit, took a few steps closer and then he charged straight at the rabbit and before the rabbit even noticed him he had killed it.

"I... I did it" stammered Maplenose. While he was carrying his kill back to camp he was happy he kept on tredding on Spiritstars tail "Sorry, Spiritstar"Maplenose said through his rabbit.

As Maplenose was setting down his rabbit in the fresh kill pile((sp?)) He decided he wante dot go for a walk out on the moor. As he was nearing the entrance to the camp he thought well maybe I should invite someone to go with me.

(( I am going to sound stupid but , how do you do italics/))

((okay)) Maplenose saw Spiritstar just sitting by herself so he went over and asked " I was going to go for a walk and I was wondering if you wanted to come too?"

Foxclaw just followed the group. She hated following. She loved to lead, so Foxclaw turned right at the next peice of heather.

"Great" Maplenose said. As they set of he said " Do you want to go down by the creek? It is so beautiful this time of year."

As they set out Maplenose asked " You don't have to answer, but I was wondering is it hard being the leader of a clan?"

Maplenose thought about her answer for awhile and finally asked "Did you want to become the leader of the clan?"

"Oh"said Maplenose said." I think I would like to be leader someday but I would want to be a deputy along time before I became leader." Maplenose confessed to Spiritstar.

When they got to the creek Maplenose took a long and refreshing drink. " Do you think I might become leader someday, Spiritstar?" Maplenose asked.

"Okay" said Maplenose knowing he would probably never bbecome leader. " It looks like the sun is about to set. Should we head back to camp so they aren'y worried about were you are?" Maplenose said. Then mumbled to himself " They probably wouldn't even notice if I were gone."

" You know what you are a really good leader and sometimes t gets annoying but in the end you are the best leader" Said Maplenose feeling akward and embarassed about what he had just said.

Feeling a little embarassed he said " Like when you know exactly what would be best but we don't think so. And you know everything about everything. It gets kinda annoying but we live with it."

" I know I was just saying" Maplenose said exasperated((sp?)).

But then Maplenose saw the humor in her eyes and thought she doesn't mind that I said that to her." Do you think we should catch some prey on the way back to camp?" Maplenose asked.

"Okay" Maplenose said while yawning." I think I am just going to head back to camp."

When they entered the clearing Maplenose bid Spiritstar goodnight and went to the warriors den to get some sleep.

While Maplenose was falling asleep he saw Spiritstar gazing up at the stars " I am going to be able to talk to starclan someday" he whispered to himself.

Spiritstars song was so beautiful that as Maplenose was sleeping he started humming it in his sleep.

As Maplenose dreamed he dreamed of becoming deputy and then leader and being a even better leader than Spiritstar.

Maplenose woke up with a hop in his step thinking *I will be leader someday*.(( I still don't get how to do italics?))

Maplenose walked over and dipped his head "Yes" he said.

Maplenose was so surprised he blurted out " What did you say?"

" But why I mean don't get me wrong I'm grateful but why not Fox((sorry forgot the rest of tha name))? Or somebody else." Maplenose asked out of breath((sp?))

" No I accept I would love to be deputy. WHat should I do first?" Maplenose asked a little overwhelmed((sp?))

"Okay, I think I will organize a hunting patrol" He said hopeing that was okay with Spiritstar.
((g2g be back later tonight))

"Okay,Foxclaw and Jadefeather will you two go on a hunting a patrol and take your apprentices along with you please." Maplenose said then noticed some cats enter ing the camp and said " Will you two please come with me and check the Thunderclan border."As he set out towards the Thunderclan border Maplenose thought This isn't that hard

While on the patrol he got to think about what he was going to do as deputy. Well I would like to have an apprentice and have respect from my clan and loyalty he thought to himself.

Foxclaw followed the new WindClan deputy. Humph, I don't need it! Who really cares about power when you can sneak around without anyone noticing you're gone!? she thought. She continued with a scowl on her face.

Maplenose had also noticed foxclaw was in a bad and stopped and asked"Yeah whats wrong?"

"Umm... I was thinking about how I didn't finish my rabbit, now I'm hungry." Foxclaw said quickly.

"Uh... sure." Foxclaw said, surprised.

Foxclaw watched Crystalheart run off.

"Okay" he called after Crystalheart. "Lets keep on heading towards the border though" Maplenose called to Foxclaw.
