Actually, I didn't like Rue all that much.

It's not that I didn't like her - I did - but I just don't see what the big deal about her is. Like, she was nothing special to me. I do think she was a very sweet character and all. She's just not a personal favorite.

Cecilia | 25 comments I guess but she was so little and vunerable and stuff and then she just dies in the games and she was nice to katniss she was a good tree climber and I just imagined (even though she's like 12) her cute as a button!

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Yea, I like her, but it's kind of annoying that everyone is going gaga over her. I personally like Cinna and Finnick. Even though his net costume would have made me barf in real life, I actually liked him :P

Yeah. I mean, nothing against Rue, just kind of the fans that go so overboard about her.

I really have a liking for the careers. I love how they portrayed it in the movie as Cato dies, how he says he doesn't know how to do anything but bring honor to his district (via Hunger Games) because that's how he was raised. I cried when he died. It really touched me in the movie.

My Algebra/English teacher (she teaches both) tells me I just cried because I thought he was hot. (I did think he was hot, but that's not why I cried.)

That was SO sad!! I felt so bad for him, even though everyone else was happy and said stuff like, "he deserved it". I was like :(

This will sound really lame and mushy and "Kat, it's just a book, relax" but I don't think anyone would deserve to be raised that way, to be raised just to fight. It's one thing if it's for defense and there's nothing wrong with being able to survive, but when it's taken to that extreme... it's just mad, and honestly, although the other districts are in poverty, I think the career districts have it the worst. And people think, "Oh, poor other districts getting killed right away!" But would you really rather go through what the careers have gone through? Would you want to be raised to be a killing machine? I'd choose to live in a career district in hopes someone would volunteer for me if I was reaped. But I just think that people don't really take the time to consider what the careers have been through - these are reasons that Finnick, Clove, and Cato are some of my favorite characters.
