It's not so easy to change the course of a relationship when it is dependent upon your actions. It definitely requires divine supplication. It's premise lies in "The laws of attraction."

Is this based on the movie?

NO, it isn't easy. I think that just like all good things God gives us, we find a way to mess it up. (At least I do)
A good book on the "laws of attraction" is Tough Love by James Dobson.

Fireproof communicate the message that there are things you can do to protect our marriages, but it takes work, descipline and investment of time. Love is not a response to an outside stimuli, but motivated from within. Only marriage with roots -- spiritual roots, survive the droughts and storms of life. That is the type of message communicated by the book "Roots -- a metaphor and acronym for the Christian life." Give me your feedback on that book.

The story presented in Fireproof, brings out the purpose and need to have a spiritual mentor, a person whom you have a lot of respect for and can constantly keep you in check and give you guidance. Knowing God is key as it enables one to be convicted and Walk back into his Courts

Theists have a higher divorce rate than non-theists. I don't think the supernatural has anything to do with successful relationships.
