World Burnt discussion

Are you brave enough to wander the lonesome road? This is the main, as it's called, 'highway' between towns. Out here there are bandits, radiation spikes, and, maybe, the odd friendly adventurer. Best of luck to you.

Julia had been walking for days. She had to find a place with food and fast. Her's was depleting fast, and she didn't know how long she could stretch it out for. If she kept eating so little, she wouldn't make it to her destination, and she would never find out if her friend was alive.

Lucas passed a sign stuck into the ground. He read it, then kept walking on. He shook his head.

((Why on earth be using a bow? And this is a radioactive wasteland. No deer here.))

((I like bows. I'll fix it, what could she be hunting?))

((Nothing. There are no animals within a dozen miles. Sorry if I seem strict.))

Lucas saw a girl a bit further on. His pace quickened. "You okay?" he yelled.

Julia turned quickly and pulled out her hand gun from her pocket.
"Who are you?" She said cocking the gun.

Lucas raised his hands quickly. "My name is Lucas Kopp! I'm just a traveler!" He turned around to reveal that he had no gang symbols on his jacket. "See?"

She squinted her eyes at him.
"Show me your arms." She said.

Lucas raised his eyebrows, then raised his arms. "What for?"

"I've seen them with the symbol on there arms as well." She said. "Now show me or I shoot."

Lucas looked annoyed, but took off his jacket anyways. All there was were a bunch of scars. "That good enough for you?"

She sighed and put her gun away.
"Sorry." She said. "Can never be to careful."

Lucas nodded. "I agree," he said, putting his jacket back on. "I was gonna offer you some food, but it looks like you have what you need."

"Um...I don't actual." She said. "I really only have food for today. "But I've been stretching it since five days ago."

Lucas looked at her, then took off his backpack. He rooted around for a little bit, then tossed some food to the girl. "What's your name?"

"I'm Julia." She said. "Julia Anderson." She smiled at the food in her hands. "I thank you very much for this."

Lucas smiled a little at her response. "Can I just say that you're really, really cute?"

She looked up at him quickly and then smiled blushing and looking away.
"Um...thank you." She said.

Lucas smiled. He saluted her and started walking again. "Good journeys!"

"Hey wait!" She said. "Your just going to say that and then leave?"

Lucas paused briefly and looked over his shoulder. "You're new at this, aren't you?"

"Not really." She said. "I just never met anyone so far that would give me food." she looked at it in her hand then back up. "Why would you do that? "I mean you don't even know me, and these are dangerous times."

Lucas smiled. "Because you looked like you needed it. And you're too young to die out here." He looked back forward and started walking again.

She sighed and sat down, she was exhausted. She opened the bag and started putting it into other bags for other days. She put the bags away and kept one so she could eat while she walked. But she knew that if she didn't rest now she would fall asleep on the road. She sighed and started looking for a place to sleep.

Lucas stopped and looked back. "Do you have a companion?"

She looked back at him.
"Not at the moment." she said. "I'm looking for my friend, she's probably gone, but I'd like to know either way."

Andrea Grasse knelt to the ground, resting momentarily. She couldn't see anyone, not yet anyway. 'Course, that could change...
She stood, tucking a strand of red hair behind her ear, hoisting the sack of her belongings onto her shoulder, and continued on. The rumbling feeling in her gut struck again, louder and more desperate this time. It was like inside she was screaming for food. Andee's finger dug into her leg, her way of telling herself Not until later.

Lucas's shoulders sagged as a sign of sympathy. "Well, unless you want to join forces, good luck with finding your friend."

"You'd really be willing to?" She said trying not to smile.

Reaching a fork, Andee turned left. She always turned left. Probably something to do with her dominant hand...
Up ahead she could see two people, conversing. Yes. Warning. Yes. Warning. She'd finally found people, but they could either have been travelling together or two of a group of bandits nearby. She reached inside her jacket pocket, fingering the pistol and old dagger hidden there.

Lucas nodded. "Just don't shoot me in the back. Speaking of shooting me in the back..." He casually pointed to Andee approaching them.

Andee froze. If there was one thing she hated((it was cabs that take 1 1/2 hours to arrive and then end up cancelling!!!)), it was people she couldn't hear talking, and then pointing at her. She didn't pull the gun, but instead of fingering it she held firmly.

((Saw photo of you shooting rifle, MoP. Hit anyone anything?))

((Yeah! I made two heads targets explode!))

Lucas gave Andee one last look, then turned around and started walking once again. "Come on, Reba, whatever your name was," he said to Julia.

"Julia." She said quietly. "I just said that." She said to herself.

"Sorry. Bad with names."

She didn't say anything but looked back at the girl who was standing a ways off.
"I don't think we should turn our back on her." She said. "Last time I did that I got shot in the back, literally." She said rubbing the spot that was now a scar.

Lucas slowed down and started walking right behind Julia. "Now you won't."

"No you will." She said obviously. "And it doesn't seem right to me.

Lucas stopped. He looked back at Andee. "Hey! You! Miss Andee! Let's go already!"

"How the hell do you know my name?" Andee asked, quirking an eyebrow. But she did start walking towards them, wondering who they might be.

Lucas looked at her, obviously disappointed. "You don't remember me? Lucas! We met a while back?"

"Uhm..." Andee looked closer. "Yeah... Sorta. Bad with faces, sorry. Yeah, you seem more familiar now... Hi." She loosened the grip on her gun.

Lucas looked relieved. He waved her over.
