Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments This book was so much fun to read, and if I am completely honest much better than I expected.

I really liked the idea that there were these 2 assassins and that they were pitted against each other, but it wasn't like they were enemies, just in the same profession with vastly different ways to go about their jobs.

Misha was raised as an assassin and in the guild, almost like their golden boy, one who always followed the rules. While Rikki, is more about who she kills, she always goes for the bad guys, those that have hurt so many people, those that when they are dead no one is sad to see them gone, more like celebrating that they won't bring their brand of evil to others.

I thought the way that Misha and Rikki met was funny. Here he was helping her and she didn't want his help. Then later after things got topsy turvy and we learned things Rikki's reaction made me laugh, I wouldn't have thought she would run.

But Misha wasn't about to let her go or let her get the better of him. I found it funny as he tracked her down, he was so patient, you could see why he is successful at his job.

I found the way things happened from this point to be interesting. Things didn't happen the way that I thought, but I was happy with what happened. Misha and Rikki had to find a way to trust each other with more than their bodies. Towards the end, the new target and who was behind it was pretty easy to figure out, but it was still fun to see how things were stopped.

I look forward to reading more in this series!

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Is this heavy in the romance or have a PNR feel to it? If so I will probably skip it. I am not big on any PNR I have read. Specifically the ones where each book has a new couple, but in the same world (BDB). If it is more UF like Elemental Assassin, I might try it.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I would say about half and half. Not sure if there will be a new couple each book, as this one is the first one.
