Susan By far, one of Grisham's better books. The characters
are real, lots of drama and lots of humor. Brings us into the real world of hard core. I read this book over the weekend and mumbled many times...WOW

Dar This was a fun book to read; lots of laugh-out-loud moments. My book club read this and we all enjoyed it.

Joy Sarcar I did not like Litigators to the slightest amount. After reading Confession, I thought that Grisham has not lost his deft touch of writing thrillers. But I was crestfallen after reading The Litigators. The characters were very boring and I completed the novel in one night not because it was a fast paced one but I wanted to get rid of it at the earliest..........

I agree, I think this was the worst of his novels that I've read. It was bland, I read it quickly too, but only because there was nothing really to follow and it was just fluff, basically - and I am a Grisham fan, just not this book.

Susan I did not read Confession, but I am putting it on my list. I enjoyed the humour of the setting, running to the window to see the ambulance, fighting to get the piece of the pie,over-indulgence of the characters, and
waiting for the big break. I didn't think that this
book was a thriller, just an enjoyable read shedding light on the legal world.

Swagata This is nowhere close to Grisham's best work, but it was a fun read nevertheless. It was funny, well paced but yes at the same time predictable.

Katherine I'm normally a Grisham fan, but I couldn't finish this book. It was too fluffy and over-the-top for me to buy into it, and the whole drug lawsuit was too similar to some of his earlier books. All in all it got one star from me.

Harley I thought this was a fun read. While Grisham books are rather predictable, this one made me chuckle on several occasions.

Christine I am about half way through the book, and I have yet to figure out where this is going. Most Grisham books catch me right away and keep me interested, but the last few, I have a hard time pushing through it.

Anne-Marie Eberhardt I loved this book! It was different than many of Grisham's book. I thought it was a refreshing change! Really hope he writes more like this.

I also enjoyed this story as a welcome detour from some of his more recent books.Seemed a little more lighthearted...not quite as dark.
Soon after finishing Litigators, I read his newest title,"Calico Joe" (with zero lawyers)which has probably become my favorite Grisham work.

Anne-Marie Eberhardt Really?! Ok, I've seen Calico Joe, but couldn't decide if I would like it. I think I'll give it a try this summer. Thanks for the recommendation!

Lorna I thought this book was contrived and boring - alternating between being predictable and/or unrealistic. Waded through it.....

Donna I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't my favorite John Grisham work, but I enjoyed the humour. It had the recurring theme of the young bright optimistic inexperienced lawyer coming in and working for two tired jaded close to retirement lawyers. But lots of laughs.

God I hope its not one of the better books. This was my first Grisham book and I must say I was a bit let down. All the talk of Grisham books and when I read this one, it was so anticlimactic that I came away a bit upset with the author. I felt played. I swore I would give him another chance, but if the next one is like "The Litigators" it will certainly be my last.

They took you on an adventure that took for ever; drawn out and very detailed. Then in a matter of two chapters brought everything to a crashing end.

*** SPOILER ****

I would have wanted David to hook up with Nadine in some extra marital affair or at a minimum win the case. For a moment there when he was cross-examining the witness I was sweating hoping it was the coup-de-gras and then as quick as he blew up, he fizzled back down. Then the lead case was resolved in just a few pages.

Oh well. Lets see what happens.

Arun I enjoyed reading the book mainly due to its humorous and fast paced style. Though, I wish the law firm could have won its lawsuit which I thought it might do due to the David's cross examination towards the end. But it does show that a lot of initial research was needed at the beginning by the law firm and was missing.

Dawn Good book with court room drama as well as the typical Grisham type characters. David leaves a big firm to end up in a rag tag two man dysfunctional shop with Wally and Oscar.

Waiting for Grisham to write another book as good as "The Client"
