Hey!
It's time to pick a theme for June! I need some suggestions from the group to help me choose one.
Thank you
Heather :)

Ya, I think I'll give it a few more days to see if anyone has any suggestions for themes and then if not we will for sure go with this one.
Alright, well it looks like some people want to do it. So why don't we start getting some suggestions. Max two books per person, and I'll post a poll once we have a good list of books.
Hello Ladies! I have been silent for some reason (probably because I'm very involved in another group) but I'd love to join in!So you just want us to post two suggestions here? In this thread??? Is that how you want to do it Heather? I'm thinking yes...so here are my suggestions...(nothing like jumping in and being all bossy eh?)
and um...
Those are kind of general type books. I look forward to hearing/seeing everyone else's suggestions. :) Thanks for the invite!

I just finished reading a wonderful book "The Light Between Oceans" by M.L. Stedman. Wonderful book about a war hero returned from WWI who becomes a lighthouse caretaker on a small island off the coast of Australia. Sometimes a decision can change life forever and end up harming everyone including yourself.
I've seen "The Light Between Oceans" advertised a lot and I have it on my TBR. It looks very good. You already read it though Tema? Bummer! You should recommend some books that you haven't read and then join in the read. :)
Suggestion Heather? If you have 15 books to choose from (as an example), the poll is going to be all over the place. I would suggest that maybe you pull 3 random choices from the group and then we vote from that.
Just a thought. :)
Well no one did suggest two more and it's Friday so I'm just going to put up what we have so far. I may decide to take only one of each persons suggestions instead but I'll see.
Is it just me or is the link to vote not working?Heather wrote: "The poll has been posted for September!
Vote HERE"
Nope Renee...the link isn't working. Here's a correct link: http://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/28... Then you have to scroll down to Poll #6. It's very confusing in there because there's old polls and whatnot. Just make sure you read the poll title.
I fixed the link everyone. For some reason the polls have been acting weird lately. But it works now.

I would like to get the group reads back up and running for the month of May. I think I'm going to try to restructure the way they are run though. I want to have a specific genre each month and have books suggested from it. I would also like to have discussion leaders for each novel. They would work alongside me to keep the discussion moving and to stimulate peoples thoughts on the novel as they read it. This would have to be someone that is going to read or has read the book that is chosen.
To get things going again though I am going to pick a theme for this month and get suggestions from there. However, after next month I will be asking for genre suggestions from everyone. Also, for May's suggestions I would like everyone that suggests a novel to let me know if they would be interested in leading the discussion if that book were to be chosen.
I hope that this will work better for the group.
