I have read this book so many times that my copy is exhausted from having me lovingly turn the pages so many times! I have NEVER EVER read a book (besides Harry Potter, just barely) that could compare to the brilliance of this book. My library now, after my ardent recommendation, has four copies of it which are constantly on loan. Thank goodness I have my own copy or I would never get the chance to read it!

A heroine as fiery as her hair, a mysterious marquis, a people who delve in magic and reside in the woods, an evil king, bloody battles, special friendships, bitter rivals, court intrigue, gossip, beautifully executed one-liners, betrayal, friend vs foe, a joker for a brother and a land in need of saving. This book has it all!

Definitely! Their courtship was pieced together so brilliantly that in that tent scene, where he goes "And this was the more spectacular of my mistakes" (quoted from memory!) and takes of his glove, I had an inner fangirl squealing moment - I was so excited!!! Everything in that book is like a giant puzzle - every plot, subplot, character, conversation and each piece of background information fits together and seamlessly becomes apart of a beautiful picture which is the book itself.
