Sidewalk
Josh walked out of the cafe and turned right, all thoughts occupied on the not-as-young-as-he-thought Kurt. He headed to his appartment at the lower-end. He didn't mind it, it was small but quaint. Though he had hopes of eventually moving into a bigger complex or a house of his own. He had to first wait for for his vet clinic to pick up. He saw the little yellow signs on street lamps as he walked by. He stopped in front of one and smiled. He didn't do a bad job, advertising the clinic's opening times 9am to 9pm, monday to friday. Saturdays and sundays 12 noon to 6 pm. He left his cell phone number: 647 293, 4810 That was for emergencies in case he was closed and someone needed extreme medical attention to their animals. He had some equipment set up at home. He left the clinic number: 905 123 PETS. He opened tomorrow and he was excited, as there was nothing better than helping animals. "Tomorrow's going to be a big day. I just hope I get some customers."
George ran down the street, pushing past people and laughing. She had been running from her friend and had just officially lost her. "Ha! Gonna catch me, huh? NICE TRY!" She screamed and looked back, not paying attention. She collided with some guy (Josh, lol!) and made both of them hit the sidewalk hard. "Ah!"
Since Josh was standing right in front of the post, he did not see what was going on behind him. However, he did hear some yelling. Just as he turned his head, a girl smacked right into him, effectively making him hit the side of his temple right into the street lamp before falling to the ground with the girl falling on top of him. Josh groaned.
"Oh my god, i'm SOOO sorry!" She said, eyes widening. "Please be alright, please be alright!" She got off him carefully and helped pull him up from the ground carefully. She looked truly sorry.
He almost blacked out but he vaguely heard someone mentioning Kurt's name and it was enough to bring him back to earth. Looking up, he came face to face with an apologizing girl with very long hair. She offered her hand. She's pretty. Wait, what? Did I just think a girl was pretty? Taking her hand, he came to his feet and swayed. He diregarded the thought because he was dizzy and he chopped it up to a possible concussion
She looked like she was about to cry as she paced back and forth. "Ohmigod, i'm so sorry! Do you like, need to go to the hospital? Medical attention? I'll do anything, just say the word...Are you hot? Cold? Vision blurry?" she stuck the back of her hand to feel his forehead. "Don't like, pass out! You might have a concussion! Ohmigod, this is BAD!"
"Calm down, girl. I know what to do." She made him sit. Follow my finger. She moved her finger back in forth
George looked at Rachel and rolled her eyes, stepping back
She stared at the two girls telling her to sit. Kurt's friend? Thinking her advice was good considering there was really only one of her not two, he sat down. Suddenly the pretty girl was there, touching his forehead. Again with the pretty? "Well, I think I most definitely have a concussion..." He said in a calm voice. Giving his head a shake, he felt a stab of pain. Reaching up, he felt wetness trickling down his temple, and his hand came away filled with red, coupled with a booming headache.
Rachel tookout her phone, dialing 911. "I've got 911 on the phone, okay?" She also texted Kurt.Your friends hurt.
What friend
The friend from the cafe
IM ON MY WAY
Reaching up, he gently grabbed the girl's hand so as not to frighten her. "Oh, please. I am perfectly alright. Well, not perfectly. But you don't have to call 911. I just need some gauze to wrap my head..."
"Ohmigod! Blood! What have I done??!" She wasn't squeamish, she just felt horrible. She started pacing again, talking to herself. "This is all your fault! Pay more attention on a busy sidewalk! You're lucky he's so cool with it; He could've been one of those crazy, angry guys..." She looked down to her hand, which was spotted with his blood, and wiped it on her jeans unceremoniously.
Josh began to chuckle. Well maybe He wasn't so right in the head considering he was laughing while his head was split open. Looking past Rachel who was still on her phone, he looked at the girl who collided with him. She was freaking out, talking to herself. "Excuse me, Miss? Are you alright?" He found it hysterical that he was the calm one taking care of these girls...
Rachel watched the girl like she was crazy."Rachel what happened?" Kurt walked up pretending it was accidental
She looked to Josh and felt her head spin. "I...No, i'm not. I'm so sorry, whoever you are..." She wanted Rachel to go away, all of a sudden, even though she couldn't handle this on her own. When she saw Kurt, she closed her eyes and felt tears slip all of a sudden.
When Josh saw Kurt approaching with swaying hips he thought it was his lucky day, despite the current circumstances. Two times in one night. Getting up really quickly, "Hey Ku-" He swayed again and sat back down, elbows resting on his knees
George thought she could slip away now, move on with her life, but the tears held her firmly to the ground. She stopped pacing, taking measured breaths. Obviously, Josh knew this guy. He was okay, right? Din't need her here?
When the dizziness died down again, Josh chanced moving his head to look up and saw tears from the girl who was freaking out mere seconds ago. Oh God, she's about to break down. If He was able to get up, he wouldv'e walked over to the girl and offered her a hug. He had the strange sense of wanting to comfort her and protect her. "Hey, Miss. Don't cry. It's alright. I'm alright. See? Look at me." When the girl still had tears in her eyes, he repeated gently, "Look at me."
George looked at him, opening her eyes. She looked pretty when she cried, more so than when she was not. The tears fell in heavy droplets, landing on her arm. The blood stain on her jeans looked large and menacing. "You aren't okay. You're just a good actor. Look at your head! I did that to you! I'm sorry!"
Domino caught the next bus back to the lower-end. As she got off the bus, she saw a big scene in the middle of the sidewalk. 1 girl was crying, the other was the perky girl from japantown. She rolled her eyes. The guy who seemed to be causing the scene was sitting on the floor, looking rather nauseous and bleeding. The other guy was clearly gay and she guessed on first impression, head over heels for the injured guy. 902-goddamn-10. Is there no escaping it? She walked by the injured guy and the rest and flicked her cigarette ash in his genral direction. "You might want to wrap that." She said as she kept walking by them straight into her shitty apartment.

George looked at Kurt and sighed. "You're right. I should just...go..."

SF is filled with all kinds of people. He thought as the girl with the cigarette and bad attitude walked by. When the girl finally looked at him, he was captivated by her eyes. With tears in them, her pupils had a nice wavering effect and her eyes were large ad shiny. "Well, yes. You did do this to me." He felt the only way to calm her down was to take alittle advantage. "And, if you want to help me, you can. By taking a seat and calming down as well. All your pacing is making my headache much worse." Turnign to Kurt, he gave a special smile and said, "fancy meeting you here. I'm sorry, I was delayed in giving my friend the message about you."
George took a seat, doing as he said and taking measured breaths. She felt so incredibly horrible.
((@Clarrinette: YES TOTALLY))((I answered Embry))
"You don't need to do that anymore Josh. I know the guy is you."
((Okay!
Meet me...where do you want to go?))
Meet me...where do you want to go?))
When she sat down, Josh turned to her and smiled. "Thank you. That's good, take deep breaths. Relax. We're all going to get through this." He was always very cool and collected, and of course, charming. Especially when it came to emergency situations. It was years of practice in vet school. "There. I thnk you're making my head feel better already." When Kurt spoke, Josh blushed a little. He wasn't expecting him to be so blunt, and thought he would have to be the one to make the first move. "Good, I'm glad. And I am definitely interested"
The way Josh looked at Kurt...It shocked her, to watch it unfold. Oh, so he's well enough to flirt? God...
He smiled one last time before turning back to the girl to see a shocked and somewhat horrified expression on her face. "Hey, are you okay? I mean, i know im a little dizzy but you did take a fall too. I hope I didn't hurt you?" He asked and put a hand on her shoulder. Again, the need to protect her was very strong. But her expression was so shocked, he was a little worried. "Kurt, maybe you should help her up...?"
"Okay..." Josh's head was spinning. The girl who knocked him over was glaring at him a little, and the boy he liked wasn't even talking to him right now...How is everyone mad at me when I'm the one who hit my head? Josh was majorly confused. This was the first time he felt flustered in a situation, the first time he felt like he couldn't handle one. Getting up despite his head protesting, he fought off the dizziness and helped the girl up to her feet. "I'm okay. I hope you are too. I'm sorry to have caused all this mess." He always felt being respectful and reassuring in these types of situations was the best approach. "I have some gauze at home, and I can wrap and ice my head. Don't worry about me." Turning, he walked to Kurt and knelt in front of him, glad to be lower to the ground again. He wasn't sure how long he would last. Since Kurt wasn't really looking at him, he put his hand under the boy's chin and tilted it up. "Hey. Are you alright, Kurt? Was it because I said I was interested because I'm sorry if I was too forward. Have I offened you?"
George didnt want to watch this unfold. She said nothing as she stepped into the street without looking either way and ran across. She felt hot tears roll down her cheeks again as she raced off
While waiting for Kurt to answer him, Josh heard the hurried steps of the girl running away. Completely confused, Was it something I said...? He watched her leave with a sad look on his face. ...Because I'm sorry. He turned back to Kurt and forgot about the girl as he realized Kurt STILL hadn't answered him. He was worried he ruined his chances with this cute boy all in the span of an hour of meeting him. Looking down, he really wanted the comfort of his husky beside him. Eyes casted away he replied softly, "I'm sorry..." to Kurt and got up, thinking he destroyed any chance of them dating. He began slowly walking away, fighting off the growing nausea and dizziness, just managing to make it to his apartment.
She started pushing past people again, trying to make her way up the street. Her tears never ceased and her breath shortened to where she was panting. All of a sudden, someone grabbed her by her waist an pulled her against the wall. She screamed out, surprised. She wasn't that far from Josh.
Josh was about to walk into the apartment doors. He looked up sharply, as he heard a familiar scream. It's that girl. Completely in control again, he forgot about his concussion and began running back the way he came. He had a habit of playing hero, some called it a bad habit, but he thought it was good. He wasn't sure if Kurt heard the scream or not, but he had no time to check if he was okay. Running by him he yelled, "Kurt call 911!" He continued down the street, shoving past people, no time for manners. Finally, he saw the long haired girl shoved up against the wall. Anger siezed him like no other he's ever experienced. Josh didn't even bother looking to see who the person causing her harm was. "HEY! GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER!" He ran up to them, grabbed the stranger by the back of the collar and yanked the person off of her, feet a couple inches off the ground...
The guy choked and sputtered. "Meant...no...harm...let...go...!"
George stared in fright, tears drying. The situation was so...weird. The guy hadn't tried anything, but he wasn't acting friendly, either. She had marks on her wrists where his hands had held her back. Josh was a sight for sore eyes, that's for sure

Now that he took care of the immediate threat, Josh assessed the situation. Looking over at the girl first, he saw some bruises forming on her wrist and arms. He was trying to keep calm, but he was so pissed off at this guy for hurting her. He didn't have time to analyze his strong feelings for her well-being though. So he chopped it up to his hero complex. Still not letting the guy go he said in an uncharacteristic savage voice, "Oh really? You meant no harm, huh. Then why are their marks on this girl's wrists?" Adressing said girl he said, "Do they hurt, Miss? Were those marks there before because I didn't notice them. And I would have back there." Not hearing her response he turned back to the guy and gave him a shake, "Look at her wrists! Does that look like no harm?!"
The guy's eyes rolled back in his head. "Just wanted...her wallet..."
George shook her head. "He made them. But, please...don't hurt him..." she looked down to the sidewalk, feeling so weak and stupid. "Just let him go...I'm begging you..." her wrists ached now, feeling as if all the skin had been rubbed off.

Hearing the plea in the girl's voice shook Josh to the core. Nodding, he released his hold slightly on the mugger and placed his feet on the ground but still held on. Josh knew what it was like to need money, but he lucked out with school. Well it wasn't luck, he had to study his ass off and got a scholarship. "If I ever, EVER, catch you trying to mug this girl - or ANYONE else - I will make you wish you hadn't. DO you understand?" Shaking him by the neck to reinforce his words, the mugger nodded. Reaching into his back pocket, he took out 40 bucks and handed it to the mugger. He knew he couldn't guarantee everyone's safety, or guarantee that this guy would listen to him and wouldn't go off to the enxt girl he could find. So, he hoped the money was enough to satiate whatever his need was. "This is called being a good samaritan, buddy. Learn from this. Learn from me." He still held some venom in his voice, and as he turned the guy around and let him go, he gave him a small boot in the behind to send him off running, just for good measure. Noticeably trying to relax himself, he took a breath, turned to the girl, smiled, and offered his hand for the second time that night. "you okay?"
She took it, pulling herself up and into his arms. "N-no, but...it'll pass. I'm so so sorry...and...thank you. For everything. For that. For telling me to relax..." she held onto him tightly, wanting the comfort of another body next to hers. She missed this, this intimacy with others.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm here." He slowly rubbed her back as she held onto him. She smells nice. But again, he was just making an observation. In emergency situations it always seemed like all his senses were heightened, on high alert. So, he thought, that's why he noticed her smell. "Hey, you're shaking." Taking off his jacket, he moved her away from him so he could wrap it around her. He was still fighting off the effects of a concussion but he couldn't think about that right now. "We should get you inside. Where do you live?"
"I...I live with a roommate, but she's...she's busy." Doing what, i'd rather not say she blushed, and zipped the jacket up. Her small chest trembled as she tossed her long hair out of her eyes. "I...I don't know where to go now..."
"Well, I think your roommate should be able to understand what you've just been through. Otherwise she wouldn't be a very good roommate or friend." He said unkindly. He wanted to protect her any way he could, and if her roommate was too "busy" to be their for this girl, he wanted to fix that, even if it meant busting down their door. But, he sighed, knowing that would be unacceptable. "Well...I guess you can come to my place for a little bit and when we get there, you can use my phone and give your roommate a call, okay?" That being said, he began walking back the way he came. I'm so sleepy. And I've got a splitting headache.
She stood there for a moment, so confused. Then, when she realized his offer, she caught up to him. Her head hurt and every step she took left a pounding in her head. "T-thanks,...whoever you are..."
