I read this book not long ago. I don't think I'll read it again so soon, but I'll discuss if that's okay with people. No spoilers :)
I read it last month. I thought it was done well, realistic and at a nice steady pace. Melinda's narrator's "voice" was very good.
I also really enjoyed the voice. I think it's great that the club is reading this so soon after Thirteen Reasons Why, which deals with a lot of the same issues.
I haven't read Thirteen Reasons Why, been distracted by other books. My daughter wants to see the movie when it comes out as it's supposed to have Selena Gomez in it.
I did not like the way Asher portrayed girls or people with depression. I had some serious issues with the book and its overall message. I think Anderson dealt with the issue of bullying in a way that is much healthier to read. I would say Thirteen Reasons Why is probably more 'edgy' though.
