Josh Dorian Grey
George walked with Josh here. "That's good...You still have a gash, though. If you have anything, I can help fix it?" She bit her lip and looked him up and down. He's gay. Remember that. She sighed when he said anything about her name. "It's...it's my insecurity. I mean, i'm sort of...manly in a sense, just not appearance wise, so...it fits..."
He chuckled. "You don't have to be insecure about something like that. It's just a name afterall and you can't help what your parent's named you. You were a defenseless baby at the time remember? Besides, i think it's nice, it suits you." When he stepped into the apartment, Maple, his only female companion, ran to him and jumped up. He loved that husky so much, and named her Maple because of the maple leaf design on her forhead. "Easy Maple, down girl. Where are your manners? This is George. She could use a good friend right now, so why don't you go say hi." Maple had a routine introduction that Josh taught her. She sauntered up to George, politely sniffed her hand and gave one lick, then stepping back a couple feet, she dropped to the floor, rolled on her back with her paws up in the air, waiting for a belly rub. "Go on. She's big but gentle as a butterfly." He said, giving George a nudge.
George smiled and got down on one knee. George suits me. He's right She didn't have issues with dogs, though she hadn't grown up around them. She rubbed Maple's stomach in between gentle and harsh, smiling the whole time. She patted her head afterwards before standing.
"She likes you, you know? I taught Maple that trick but she doesn't willingly do it to everyone. The stomach rub is extra for her." He gestured her to sit on the couch in the living room, and he went to the kitchen. Coming back, he grabbed a bone and gave it to the dog. "Okay now. Here is my cell phone, you can call your roommate." He gave her the cell in his back pocket. Pointing to the kitchen, "There's some tea in the pot if you would like, you can pop it into the microwave. I'll give you some privacy, I just need to take care of something." Thinking about his head, he walked into his office and grabbed his emergency first aid, human and animal, and walked into the bathroom door, leaving it ajar. He chased down 2 tylenol with a glass of water from the sink and assessed the damage. With a wince, he was right that it needed two stitches.
Josh took out the needle and was about to begin the slow routine of stitching up his wound, when he suddenly heard the "Defying Gravity" song from his cell phone. Rushing out he said to George, "Sorry, I have to answer that. Nobody knows my number yet so it could be an animal emergency. I'll let you call your roommate after I take this."
George looked up at him, feeling nervous. She didnt want to talk to her roomate right now. She didnt want to go home, actually. She was grateful for him taking the phone.back
Hearing the "Defying Gravity" ringtone, George handed him the phone and he picked up on the third ring, "Hello, Dr. Grey of the Local veterinary Clinic speaking. Is this an emergency?"
((Defyin Gravity! That's Kurt's fav song, lol!))"It's not an exact emergency, but the sign says your open, and my cat is sick." Kurt said
((hahah i knoww thats why i did it. a little joke to show that Josh has good taste XD))Looking over at George, Josh saw the relief all over her face. Odd. Maybe she doesn't like her roommate, she seemed happy not to call her. When the voice on the other line spoke, he stopped pacing. That voice sounds strangelly familiar... "Kurt? Kurt! Oh my God, where did you go?" Realizing he was squealing like a girl, he forced on his professional voice and said, "Sorry, we can discuss that later. Oh yes, I am open until 9pm but opening day isn't until tomorrow. You said your cat was sick. Can you describe the symptoms for me?"
Hmm cloudy eyes.. "Has she been scratching them lately or rolling around in anything she shouldn't be? If around the eyes, they look a little red and inflamed, she may have gotten an eye infection."
"Okay Kurt, I want you to grab the address off the door of the clinic and come on over. I have some emergency equipment set up at home." Hoping Kurt wasn't too scared, He added, "Don't worry, I'll take a look at her when you get here. It sounds like it's a simple eye infection to me."
((omg she's so cute!!! Hope shes not too scared of dogs:http://www.google.ca/imgres?hl=en&...))
Josh snapped the phone shut and took a deep breath. He mentally calmed and prepared himself, a trick he learned in vet school. Turning to George he said, "I'm sorry, that was my...friend Kurt, the one who was there during our little accident haha. He has a cat that needs some medical attention so he's coming over. You can call your roommate or..." Thinking about the look on her face when he took the phone he said, "Actually, if your roommate is too busy, you can just crash here tonight? I'll take the couch, you can have the bed. But we'll discuss that later, I have to prepare my equipment." Walking into his small office he yelled, "Oh, yes there's the tea there. ANd help yourself to whatever is in the fridge!" Josh walked into his office and unpacked his veterinary kit. Most of the good equipment was in the clinic but he had some emergency small travel sized materials with him...
George took this as her time to leave. She didn't reply as she collected herself and stood, walknig to the door. He won't notice my absence. he's too busy with him...I'll just go... Where, though, she had no idea..
As Josh started unpacking a thermometer and some equipment for examining eyes and ears, he heard someone walking, but it wasn't to the fridge. He was not a very observational guy but when he was on high alert and in "vet-mode/hero-mode" as his friends back home called it, he noticed everything, heard everything, smelled everything. It was like he was tuned into everything around him. So, he walked back out into the living room area to see George with her hand on the doorknob, ooking uncertain if she was going. "Hey, George. Where are you going?" He could tell she was the type who thought she imposed on everyone so he knew the only way to get through to people like that was by taking advantage, and he wasn't proud to admit it but by acting on her guilt. "You knock me over, I save you, then give you a place to crash for the night, and you try to sneak out without a word to me like this is a one night stand?" He asked jokingly, "That's not very nice. Where you planning on running to?"
Not very nice...heaven's, he's right! "uh...I...I'm sorry. I just, it's not wise for me to stay here, is it? And you're busy. How can you trust a complete stranger with keeping your house while you're out? not like i'd do anything, but you never know! And...And I know...I don't want to piss that guy off again! I know you like him, and...And if he kenw I was here, judging by the way he treated me out on the street, I don't think he'd like to know that i'm 'crashing' at your place for the night! You know, it's best that I just suck it up and interrupt my roommate's make-out session with her bastard boyfriend and just....charge right in. It's my place, too...even thoguh she pays for everything...ughhhhhh!" She slapped herself hard, groaning slightly. "Josh, forget it. I'm sorry."
Despite her obvious anxiety attack, Josh laughed. "'It's not wise?' Hey, first of all, you need to relax. Second, he's coming here so you don't have to worry. I'll be here to watch in case you decide to steal something hmm." He winked adding, "And yes, I like him, but he's coming here because his cat needs my help. And it seems like you need my help too because you need a place to crash. And clearly i'm guessing you have a little money trouble considering that your roommate pays for everything, and so you feel you can't exercise your authority. I'm quite sure kurt will understand that you are not my girlfriend and not interested in me that way and i'm just helping out a friend. That is, considering everything that's happened tonight, I hope we can be friends. What do you say?" He stood with his head cocked to the side wearing a very charming and persuasive smile. "Did i mention there's tea on the stove?" He waggled his eyebrows.
The thought of seeing Kurt again only made her head hurt. "I...I guess. Yes, to all of those...Except the one about you being unwise..." She smiled coyly, then laughed breezily. "Thanks. For your hospitality and everything...I extremely appreciate it..." She thought about being his friend and felt butterflies form in her stomach; not the love-sick kind, but the nice kind. She nodded and tried to smile wider. "Friends. I'd like that, yes."
She has a nice laugh. He thought. "Good, you're smiling. You look prettier when you smile." He said matter-of-factly but then wondered to himself why he even said it at all. He guessed because it was true. "Okay well, first things first. Friends accept tea when their gracious host is offering them some. You also look like you could use something to eat. I dont know what I have because I havent gone groceyr shopping yet but I think there's some instant noodles you could make yourself. Also feel free to use the washroom if you'd like." Walking back to his make-shift office, he stopped and popped his head in the living room. "Oh and friends don't sneak out on each other. So let's just say if I were to check up on you tomorrow, I shouldn't find an empty bed and a hastily scribbled note that both thanks and apologies to me. Got it?" HE asked with a raised eyebrow.
She nodded, understanding. "Got it, Chief." She said, saluting him. Chief...Hey, that suits him! She knew she wouldn't eat or drink anything, though. She felt a little ill, to tell the truth.

((Nah, she's good, probably just not at first))
Kurt arrived and went up to the right door. He knocked and called through the door. "This is funny. I live directly beneath you."
Josh broke out a grin when she called him chief, but then noticed the slightly unhealthy shade of green on her face. He was just about to inquire on it when he heard Kurt's voice from the front door. He Jumped up and ran a little too excitedly to the door. Visibly trying to slow himself down, he opened the door with a wide smile on his face. "Hi Kurt!!! Wow no way, you live a floor below me?? Cool" Then noting the white cat in his arms, he became all business. "Oh, come in. is this her?"
Josh softened. It was always hard to stay professional in his job because he loved all animals so much. "Snow White. I like that." He reached out and scratched behind her ear, enjoying the purring noise she made. "She's a beauty. I have a husky but she's in my bedroom right now because I didn't want to frighten your cat." Gesturing to follow him, he led the way through his living room and stopped in front of George. "Kurt, this is George. She was the one who kinda knocked me over, remember? George, meet Kurt, my...my friend." He blushed at this because he suddenly realized he wasn't sure what terms he was on with the boy, remembering how they left off. Rushing on he said, "George is here because she was attacked by a mugger and I got to her in time. She couldn't go to her apartment because her roommate is sort of occupied with her boyfriend. I was just about to offer her some tea..."
George shook her head at the tea offer and stood up. "nice to meet you again, Kurt." She said, ioffering her hand to him.
"You realize your mumbling on and on, don't you?" Kurt said plainly cutting him off. Snow White hissed at the mantion of a dog.
"Oh you hush up." Kurt scolded the cat who immediatly stopped hissing and jumped from his arms and circled her way around Josh's leg
She hated how he ALWAYS ignored her. "Fine. Forget it." She said, and turned away, walkign off into a different room.
Josh gave Kurt a very curious look as he clearly ignored George. Turning he saw that George left the living room. He was about to go after her to see if she was okay when Snow White started walking circles around his leg, rubbing her head into him. He forgot what he was going to do and picked up the cat, "Hey kitty. You're a cute one, aren't you. Let's take a look at you." He wave of his hand, he gestured for Kurt to follow him. "Hey, George. Kurt and I will just be in my office. Lemme know if you need anything and remember what I said!" He yelled. He walked into his office with Kurt behind and placed the cat on his "operating" table. "Alright let's see if we can find out what's wrong with you." Adressing Kurt he asked, "How old is she and how long has these symptoms been going on for?"
((It adds drama if he ignores her, lol!))
"She's a little over a month, still just a kitten. And it's been going on about 2 days. I didn't think abything of it at first until she started scratching." Kurt said putting a hand on his heart
Josh was nodding and making agreeing noises as he tenderly felt around her stomach for any lumps. It was the first thing you do during any examination, check for any weird or oddly shaped lumps on the body. He scratched behind her ear with one hand to distract her, while with another he picked up a thermometer and inserted it gently into her behind, leaving it there for a few seconds. "Good kitty." Taking it out he read it, "Well, it's a little warm. But that is normal if she has any infection." He already knew her eyes were infected when he first saw the cat, noting how puffy and red they were, with the cloudy film over the pupils. It would be the last place he checked. He grabbed the othoscope and gently looked in her ears. "Alright your ears seem to be nice and clean. Now let's check out your eyes, Snow." He completely forgot Kurt was there. This always happened when he was working with any animal, completely in the zone.
Hmm where did I put my- He vaguely heard someone talking. Not someone. Kurt. "Oh." Looking up, he laughed. "Yeah I guess. Sorry, I tend to get into my own little world." Sighing he thought, I can't let him distract me just because he's cute...Where was I? Grabbing another instrument from the table he continued. "This is a Ophthalmoscope. It'll help me see inside her eyes. Okay, Snow, let's see what's causing this film over your eyes." One hand holding her eyelid open, he used the other to look through the instrument at the cornea of her eye. He could see some little objects of dirt and saw the infection. "Alright, I'm going to put a few drops of fluorescein stain in her eyess. It's an orange dye that will make anything that's not supposed to be in there turn green. So don't be alarmed when her eye's change." Adding 1 drop in each eye, instantly he saw the green specks swimming in the orange pools. "Hmm. Kurt, you have nothing to worry about. It's a mild infection, not unlike when humans get a sty in their eye. The infection was causing her temperature to rise and that's also why she hasn't been eating, as it often causes them to get a little sick, like with kids and ear infections. Lucky for you, I have some drops in my pack here that I can give to you. I want you to administer 2 drops in each eye, 3 times a day." Picking up the cat, he kissed her nose and handed her back to Kurt. "She's gonna be just fine. I'd give it two weeks. If you see her scratching try and stop her. Also, I suggest you drop by the clinic tomorrow because I also want to prescribe some mild antibiotics but I don't have them here with me." Josh finished and let out a breath, all professionalism gone out the window
"Thanks so much.' He picked up Snow White and nuzzled her. "I don;t know what I'd do withiut my litte Snow."
"I know the feeling. I'd be lost without my Maple." Turning around and walking over to his desk, he searched inside the pack for the drops. When he found them, he walked back to Kurt, took one of his hands and placed the drops in it, folding Kurt's fingers around it, and tightly wrapping his own hand around his too. "Hey, I want to apologize for anything I did. You looked pretty mad at me before and so i thought I sort of ruined any chances of us...and then when George was getting mugged and We came back, you were gone." Closing his eyes briefly and squeezing Kurt's hand, he said a little awed, "To be honest I didnt think I'd see you again..."
((I get email notifications on my phone. So most times i just respond from there lol))He flashed a dazzling smile and dropped his hand. "Good." Petting the kitten one more time, he suddenly remember that George was still here. Well, somewhere. "We should probably check on George. I'm not being a very good host. Come on." Walking out of the office, he saw that she wasn't in the living room anymore, nor was she in the kitchen. There was only one other place she could be. "She's probably playing with Maple. You should meet Maple, too!" Josh headed for his bedroom.
George was sitting in his room, looking out the window from his bed, not really paying attention to anyone.

this is Josh's apartment. He also has a small office type area set up for emergencies if in the middle of the middle of the night someone needs to go to the vet. he'll either make house calls, or they drive here, or he and the person will both have to drive to the vet
