AH! I love S.P too.... Skulduggery is my fave character, he has such a sarcastic sense of humour.

I have only read Scepter of the Ancients but I can't wait for the next book!

I thought they got better...but at around just before Deathbringer Valkyrie starts to annoy me. She gets to self-centred and horrid to everyone who cares about her and needs a serious attitude adjustment!

I'm currently waiting for Dark Days, and I cannot wait for it to come. I'm taking all the buzz on the later books as a sign that Valkyrie will indeed rescue Skulduggery.
Ah. Well, library systems and I don't get along. I could be there for years and never find a book I know is there.
I haven't finished the series yet, but I love it, mostly for the banter.
I'm weird because I love reading whilst surrounded by noise. If I have a free period at school, I'll go down to the band hall, even when I don't have my instrument, just to sit in the corner and read. I love reading in crowded auditoriums. None of my friends or family can stand reading with even the radio on, but for me, it's almost a requirement. But I do like the quiet. Just not all the time.
:) Sorry, I love the school I go to. And I want to get out of Iowa, believe me, but not till college. :)
That sucks. I've got a grand total of three friends, but a lot of the time they haven't read the stuff I've read, or they just don't get it. And I was a total outcast with no friends for years and years before now (still kinda am, with the exception of those three), so I know the feeling.
And you know what? There is nothing wrong with choosing your people carefully and sticking by them till the end. The friends that stuck by them at the end of the day are the ones they're gonna keep close, and the people who are with you at the end of the day are the ones you've gotta hold on to.
Exactly. It's not gonna matter in ten years. They're not gonna remember who was in what group. But making friends who you love, and who love you back, that's what stays with us, even if those friends don't.
Not yet... It's on order from the library at least! They're scary and humorous, adventuresome and dire. Derek Landy is a fairly brilliant author!
The Reveal at the end of Death Bringer was... was... I stared at the wall for thirty seconds opening and closing my mouth like a beached fish!

So here are some of my fave quotes since I can't think of what to say: these prove the awesomeness of this series!
- “Are you going to shoot me?' Vengeous sneered. 'I wouldn't be surprised. What would a thing like you know about honor? Only a heathen would bring a gun to a sword fight.'
And only a moron would bring a sword to a gunfight.”
- “What is it?' Stephanie whispered.
'That, my dear Valkyrie, is what we call a monster.'
She looked at Skulduggery. 'You don't know what it is, do you?'
'I told you what it is, it's a horrible monster. Now shut up before it comes over here and eats us.”
- “That's beautiful,' Valkyrie said, looking at it.
Isn't it? This necklace has cost two very fine men their lives. At times, I wear it in tribute to their sacrifice. Other times, I wear it because it goes with this skirt.”
- “Stairs," Valkyrie said, disappointed.
"Not just ordinary stairs," Skulduggery told her as he led the way down. "Magic stairs."
"Really?"
"Oh, yes."
She followed him into the darkness. "How are they magic?"
"They just are."
"In what way?"
"In a magicky way."
She glared at the back of his head. "They aren't magic at all, are they?"
"Not really.”
- “Kindness suits you."
"Really? I think I'm quite allergic to it.”
