I have already read the entire series multiple times and love every book, except for the last three as I felt they were awful and not up to her usual standards. One thing that you will notice in reading them is how much Lillian Jackson Braun will mention what everyone is eating. Every time I read one of her novels I start salivating. What Mountclemens creates is just a precursor for all the wonderful food we will be hearing about in books to come.

Oh sweet, I love food so that's exciting. I've only actually read the first one so far. But I did read up on her and with no less than the last three books she well past 80 and also suffering from a lot of health problems. She died of cancer. And I think those issues took a toll on her writing. There was supposed to be one more in the series but she was too ill to write it or even dictate it.
Yeah I know. My mom and I read through the series and that was our consensus as why the last few books were really bad.
I've read that there's a 'Cat Who ...' recipe book available in the US which features all the recipes mentioned in the books. Unfortunately though I'm in the UK and it's not available here, so I can't be 100% sure of it's exsistance
It does exist. I've made quite a few dishes from those recipes and they all are good. My favorite being the "Nasty Pasties". I haven't yet, but really want to make the chocolate whoppers from The Cat Who Moved a Mountain

What's the book called?
