Book Haven discussion

I need help finding a book.I don't remember title or author but, I believe it was a romance. I don't normally reread books. I have read soooooo many in my life that I don't remember them all. so, I have reread by accident wondering why it sounds famililar. :) Anyway there is one book in particular that I have read several times. something about it compels me to reread it and it has been on my mind for awhile now.I haven't read it in over 20 years.
I need your help in remembering the title and author.
It was about this family that breed all white horses. They were the only ones in existence. They were huge animals and everyone was always trying to steal them or the secret to their breeding process. I don't remember what era the book was set in but it was a long,long time ago. I remember people wearing capes made out of animal fur. and of course there was the man and woman.
I am sorry I can't remember more but if this sounds familiar to anyone please let me know.. I would love to reread this book

If no one here recognizes this, look for a goodreads group called What is the Name of that Book. They are really good at reuinting lost plots with titles.

Was the setting modern or historical, realistic or fantasy?

This may be from out of left field but if the horses were Lipizzaner then it might be Airs Above the Ground by Mary Stewart.

@stormhawk thank you for the lead on the group, I will post there too. I am not sure of the era. The picture roaming in my mind is like barbarian/and russian seems to be in there too

@KarenM. From what I could find on mary stewart, I am fairly certain it is not the book I am looking for..I don't remember any modern convienences but I ordered the book anyway just to check it out. Thank you for the suggestion,

I need help in finding a book I'm starting to obsess about finding. It's about a blonde woman who goes back to her grandmother's hometown where she used to live before leaving because of a scandal. She meets with the man she lost her virginity to, which was her boyfriend's brother. She comes back because she's broke and needs a place to stay in. She goes to jail twice & is accused of murder. The guy she lost her virginity to is now a lawyer & helps her out. Ohh yeah, & the town's people think she's a porn star. It's a romantic comedy type of book.
