Speaking of books that are Devoid of Thought, the British chick lit market exploded like an H-bomb after Bridget Jones. Did anyone notice that? I've read a number of these books...some were better than others. I absolutely LOVED The Little Lady Agency, for instance--the main character did some silly things, but she had more depth than your average mud puddle. I was disappointed in Mr. Maybe: A Novel, though--I thought the heroine was BEYOND shallow, to the point of being utterly asinine. Any recommendations for fun books without idiotic heroines?

I have heard of the Little Lady Agency but haven't read it yet. I am going to the library today so I think I might put it on my list. I'll let you know what I think. I liked Austenland. Not a thinker by any means but kinda fun if you like P&P and the likes. I really liked The Bee Apprentice. It is a spinoff of Sherlock Holmes with girl as the main character.
