Anthony Hudson What do you think would have happened to Harry, and most of the other characters if he never went to Hogwarts?

Catherine Wow, I never thought about that. I'm not sure!

Jonny Holstead i know

Badgerlord Would Voldemort have ever gotten anywhere? I mean, he couldn't get the Philosper's Stone because he could only see him with it.

Dani Neira He'd probably get arrested for accidentally doing something bad with magic, and then when the visions of Voldemort started, he'd be sent to a loony bin. That's what I think. Good thing Hagrid got to him first :)

Ellie Marc One of two things would have happened in my opinion.

1- Nothing. Voldemort never would have received the stone and would have spent forever trying to get it. He'd live on 7 times over as nothing but a shadow, leeching off others, trying to find that stone and failing every time.
As for Harry, he would have grown up depressed or killed himself from the execessive bullying. He'd get a lackluster job or maybe go to college and meet new friends if his life turns around with the new start, but the odds of the Dursleys letting him go to university seems low in my mind unless it's to just get him out and better chance of supporting himself so they dont have to feed him. It would look bad for someone of Vernon's work position to kick a family member out into the street, after all.

2- Voldemort would find a way to gain power and promptly kill Harry. Lots more people would die and he would either win or Dumbledore would manage to stop him.

Or perhaps harry does well in exams, gets a temporary job in a local supermarket or something, leaves home by his own decision to to to uni, then uses the money to pay off half of his uni fees, gets a job as a very succesful lawyer, pays off his uni debts, marries a redhead called ginny weasely who has a mysterious past but doesn't find harry's talents strange and lives happily ever after!

I love that!!

Kerri There wouldn't be a story!

Amanda If Harry had never gotten his letter then the protective spells on his aunt and uncles house would have worn off, as they did, on his 18th birthday and Voldemort would have just been able to kill him like that. Although maybe Sirius would have been able to get to Harry after he broke free of Azkhaban. Hermione, Ron, etc. would have had a relatively normal time at Hogwarts and Voldemort would probably have eventually ended up ruling the magical world.

In other words, it would have been a really boring story and JKR wouldn't have the career she has today.

Marisa There would not have been any kind of story at all.

Wouldn't it be a laugh if he was accidently using his powers in court? He's defending someone innocent, and suddenly the real offender just appears?

Badgerlord Marisa wrote: "There would not have been any kind of story at all."

There would have, it just wouldn't be very interesting; "Harry Potter and the Pharmacist's Case".

Robert Lent Harry would take up stage magic as a career, as his magical aptitude bubbled to the surface. After Voldemort ruled the world, he would make Harry be his court jester.

Jane He would be the janitor at my library.

Vrushali if he hadn't got the letter, the dursley,s would have been spared the trouble of paying up for the door of the house on the stone island...

Julia I'm pretty sure muggle-borns would be non-existent.

The End!!!!!!!!!!!"

I find this highly amusing. haha

Koyasan In my opinion, there is no way this is would have happened because Dumbledore would have made sure Harry got it. He is, after all, the chosen one, the boy who lived.

Mikaela I reckon Harry would have become mentally instable and started torturing animals and murder people, then be a serial killer get caught twenty years later, sent to jail and committed suicide. just a thought lol

LOL I LAUGHED SO HARD AT THIS!!!

Angelique "You're a muggle, Harry."

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ Then the story would end on page 25. "The boring life of Harry Potter."

nah, it would turn into a drama, perhaps revolving around the way people reject him from their circle of friends because of the talents that set him apart from the rest of society, he may end up living a life similar to young Voldemort's, an outcast, in fact he would almost be a doppelganger, since he can talk to snakes.

I bet you i could write a 300 page novel about that, just let me finish the current one and give time to re-read some of the harry potter books :)

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ i wouldn't mind reading that, as long as there IS some fantasy in it. like maby he sees something fromk the wizarding world? your choice.

Kalob Meaning he's a squib? Or that he just never got his letter...?

could see figures at night, things he never deemed possible, in fact he could discover magic and train appropriately by having flashbacks of the night his parents were killed, then as it comes back to him, so do the spells they used. As the world begins to collapse around him and Voldemort- assuming the events in the original series went to plan just without harry- introduces his reign of terror, harry sets out to stop him, only this time the 'muggles' will be fighting back too, although without harry, their efforts would be futile... that said i probably won't remember to write it, though if i do ill be sure to post it on goodreads, chapter by chapter.
Because i doubt jk rowling would sell the rights of her book to me for free, judging the oppotunities already open to her

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ You could Post it on Amazon, or iTunes. Except with iTunes they have to accept it first. Once you write it, tell me the title, i would definitely read it!

Anthony Gramuglia Harry Potter would've faded into obscurity, since Wormtail would've never resurfaced. Either that, or Harry would've committed suicide in deep depression. I mean, I know it sounds dark, but let's be fair: a if you lived in an abusive household without knowing any love long into your teenage years, you're either going to end up abusive yourself (which Harry wouldn't turn out due to his nature), a bit of a loner (possible), or deeply depressed. Harry would feel no sense of self worth, and end up killing himself.

Then the power of love would possibly save him. That seems to be how the universe functions in the Potter verse...no, wait, he'd come back to life after trying to kill himself since he has the Horcrux inside of him--wait, no, that wouldn't work...would it? I DON'T KNOW! I'M JUST A TROLL ON THE INTERNET! I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWERS TO THESE BIG QUESTIONS!!

Haha, you are very funny.

Emma voldemort would have taken over the world, and killed all muggles, and all would not be well.

message 32: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma it also would have been the worst book ever, luckily he did get his letter and it is the best book ever!!!!!

Sabine Augustin This wonderful series would not exist!!!

Jonathan Poku Jonathan PokuWow that is a interesting concept. I think harry would have been killed by one of voldermorts followers once he came of age and his mother's protection spell wore off. Why? because although voldermort would not have been able to regain his powers he still would have been able to use the likes of professor quirrel to act out his revenge.

Gloria the buks or movies wud not hv been made....so simple!

Priyanka umm well voldmort wouldn't come back to life and really nothing would have happened and he would have probably went off to some O.K collage, got married and had kids who maybe/possibly got accepted to Hogwarts!

Simple!

Samiyah Well their wouldn't be much of a story if that happened, now would there! Although the question is "what if Harry never got his letter to Hograwts". Which means that Harry could still be a wizard and Voldemort might still come after him and he would just be more vulnerable so the book could take on a whole new twist about a boy who didn't know how to use his magical powers but was being hunted down by a really powerful wizard who wanted revenge! Just spit balling......

message 38: by Amber (last edited Jun 14, 2012 09:36AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amber The series would be called "Harry Potter and the Insane Asylum" for kids who think they can talk to snakes, thinks they have magic temper tantrums, and see visions of grumpy old guys who can't stop thinking about murdering people.

Although it does make me question whether or not Ron and Hermione would have still gotten together.
