this mental illness in Nash was frightening. He was such a smart man-there was no price he had to pay-he was simply very unlucky to get so sick.

This book forced me to take the pattern in madness concept more seriously. At times we must look beyond the obvious logic and trust our intuition for solutions.
I loved this book, being a memoir/true story always is a win/win for me. Dr. Nash's mental illness with Schizophrenia was very real for him, as it is with most others who are diagnosed with this mental illness. The part that I found interesting was Dr. Nash figured out a way around the halucinations and voices. For someone who is suffering from Schizophrenia this is not an easy task and most of the time impossible. I loved this story and it gives me hope for my own son who has delusional/paranoia schizophrenia.
