For that time, the only sound that Nero noticed are from some birds cripping to each other from tree branch above him. Sometime, comforting summer breeze passed by while rubbing the tall grass. Nero sat around the edge of the forest that surrounding the Riverton, leaning to his favorite tree trunk while reading Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. Some moment ago, there were a girl sitting around in the porch of 116 South Riverton Dr, but she already gone. Nero never really talked to that girl, even tough they lived not so far.
"Simian.." said Nero, murmuring to himself. "No, that's a monkey. Simia, I guess.. Maybe."
Nero got up, scrubbed the dirt from his pants and looked around, trying to find Titus, his brown owl, among the branch. "I'm going back, Titus. See you at home." He shouted randomly toward the branch. "Dad should be home by now, and I am hungry." he added to himself. Across the small field that separate the Riverton from the Forest, Nero walked toward his home at 117 South Riverton Dr.
Symia smiled at her father as he walked out of the large hearth that housed a small green fire as it died out. SHe hugged him, then realized that she was covered in the residue of the Floo Powder. Wonderful... She thought, but did not really care much. They did their 'greeting ritual' and then she went back outside to see if anyone was outside.
Nero opened the garden gate. Titus arrived earlier than Nero, and sat on the edge of the fence while tidying his wing feather."Bet you have eaten, eh?" said Nero to the owl. Titus stopped for a while, stared back at Nero a couple second and resumed his activity.
The distance from the gate to the front door only a couple yards, but Nero took his time to observe the surrounding. Dad hadn't back yet, he thought, noticing the windows on second floor still closed. Nero groped inside his pocket to find the housekey, while that girl from before come out from her house.
Symia looked around and then saw Nero, she smiled at him, but kept walking. She was on her way to the small park that was closer to the outer part of the community.
Their eyes met, and Nero smiled back, but that girl just kept walking. "Some other time, then." he murmured to himself. Nero put the key in the keyhole. The moment the key entered the keyhole, it was followed by some vague mechanical click which meant the door unlocked itself."Coming in?" said Nero to the owl, while turning the handle. Titus tilted his head sideways, and flew away as if asking Nero to follow him. Nero watched Titus flew toward the direction of the girl. Nero sighed. "If that what you want, all right. But let me have something to eat first." he murmured again.
Nero entered the house, and finding a jar of cookies on shelf above the fireplace. He reached inside the jar, picked up some cookies, and stuffed it to his mouth. He picked some other for the road. And then, Nero headed outside.
After he locked the door the same way he unlocked it, Nero walked toward the park while munching his cookies.
She sat down on one of the swings and pushed herself off with her feet, swinging higher and higher. She smiled as she looked over the park as she hit the highest point on the swing's arc.
By the park, Nero just watched that girl swinging. Smile was on her face Wonder if she goes to Hogwarts too, he thought. And then, Titus landed on the top edge of the swing.
Symia smiled, "Hello Owl~" She said in a cheery tone. She looked at the owl with a mild curiosity. "Are you here to give me a letter?" She joked. "I'm just kidding, If I were to get a letter, Shii would bring it for me."
"His name it Titus. His is a cape eagle owl, an African origin." said Nero from afar. He took three steps closer and stopped leaning to a merry-go-round. "Sorry, didn't mean to disturb you."Words felt like stuck in his throat, hard to come out for Nero was not a talkative person. "I'm Nero, by the way. I lived next door."
She smiled at him and jumped off the swing. "He seems like a very well behaved Owl." She held out a hand for him to shake. "I'm Symia, Nice to meet you Nero." She said with a big grin.
"He is." Nero replied. Sudden emptiness of mind stroke him, only left the shrieking of the rusted swing chain to be heard for that moment. Nero reached out his hand, nervously, and shake the girl for a while. "Nice to meet you, too." Nero drew his hand, instinctively covering his scar with his long bang. "You spell your name with an 'i' or 'y'?"
She smiled. "You spell it with a 'y' S-Y-M-I-A. It is a strange name but I like it." She said. She brushed a tendril of her long brown hair behind her ear, getting it out of her face.
Faint smile appeared on the corner of Nero's face. Fascinated by glittering of summer sun reflected by those hair. "I'm used to it. Everyone around here have a strange name, not like in the Muggle world."
"I think it is the Muggles who have the strange names. They are all so bland and boring." She said with a smile. "Being unique is a good thing though." She said.
Nero shrugged. "Being unique in the Muggle world is as good as being a freak-of-nature." said Nero, while looked away toward the forest. Titus hooted some short tunes in the midst of silence."Say Symia, you go to Hogwarts too?" He said, facing Symia again. "Dad said I will go there this year. Supposely, I guess."
"My parent's said I probably am going, but I haven't received my letter yet, so I am not sure." She said, looking up.At that moment, an owl carrying two letters swooped down and dropped them in front of the two of them. "Well, lookie here~" She said with a smile as she picked up one of the letters. The Hogwarts seal was on the back of the letter.
"Blimey!" Nero amazed by the perfect timing. He picked the other letter, reading the front of the envelope.Mr Nero Abraham Drakeskin
117 Riverton Drive
He flinched reading his middle name. Another thing he didn't quite fond of. Nero turned the letter and saw the same seal as Symia's. "So, I really go to Hogwarts. I mean, we." He smiled to Symia.
Nero caught the excited tone from Symia. He can't help but to smile. "Do you have any idea how Hogwarts looks like?" said Nero, while reading the first page of the letter. "Dad said it is a kind of boarding school, a big boarding school." Nero sat on one of the swing, gazing aimlessly. "And must be full of people," he added with a low tone, as if talking to himself.((Wait a minute, Shadow. When is our timeline? Is it before Potter or after Potter?))
((After Potter))"I heard that it looks like a really big castle and there is a forest around it." She said, looking ahead. "I am really excited for this school year now." She said with a happy smile.
"Castle?!" He said, half shouting. "Well, this magical world never cease to amaze me." Nero chuckled, putting the letter back inside the envelope. "We will learn a lot there. Never crossed my mind to study magic at a castle."Titus flew away, heading home. Nero just stared at him. He actually like having someone at his age around, but he just couldn't find anything to talk about with Symia.
Symia smiled "I wonder what houses we might get into." She said in a hopeful tone. "I am a little timid of the Slytherin house, but the others are okay."
"House? What is this 'house', anyway? And what bad about Slytherin?" said Nero. He stretched his legs, and let the swing rocked him back-and-forth. "I'm Muggle-born." He added after a moment, as an excuse to his lack of knowledge.
"Well, there are four different houses in Hogwarts and each student is assigned to one of them. There is Griffyndor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Slytherin is mstly a 'pure-blood' house, and apparently, a lot of bad things happen because of that house...but It is nothing much more than a rumor."
"Ah, I see. I won't be placed there, I guess. For being a Muggle-born. And Griffyndor seems cool." He said, while staring toward the sky. "Dad never really talk much about Hogwarts anyway. He been too busy at the Ministry. Usually he comes home for having lunch with me, but seems like he skipped it again today." Lonely expression drawed upon Nero's face.
She frowned. "I'm sorry...." She said, an idea dawned on her. "Hey! Would you like to come have lunch with me?" She asked. "I'm positive that my mom won't mind."
"Really?" Nero caught by surprise. Staring at Symia, he realized that he might just made his first friend. "I mean, I would like to."Nero stood up from the swing.
She smiled, "Alright~ Let's go then." She said and turned towards the gate of the park. She waited for him to catch up and then walked towards her house.
Nero fold the letter once, and tuck in inside his pocket and followed Symia's lead back to her house. On their way, he couldn't but to notice the upper floor windows of his house still closed. Titus nowhere to find, Maybe he hunting again, He thought. They reached the front porch of Symia house. Nero stepped forward hesitantly as Symia opened the front door.
She smiled and invited him inside, "Mom! I'm back, and I have a friend with me!" She called out. She led Nero inside the house and into the kitchen. Her mother was a bright and cheerful person. She smiled at Nero, "What is your name?" She asked politely.
Nero bowed a little bit, "I'm Nero Drakeskin. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs Spring." He said, giving his best smile at her.Mrs Spring bringing is calming, as if she spreading joy around her which reminded Nero of his mother while the kitchen of the Springs emitted a kind family aura that made Nero unable to stop smiling.
"Nice to meet you, Nero." She said with a cheerful smile. "Would you like to stay for lunch?" She asked.Symia smiled, she knew that her mom would ask that.
"Er- yeah, I would like to." he said, shyly, "Symia asked me thought." again, he murmuring to himself, cluching both of his hand together in front of him.Nero awkwardly placed himself. This is the first time he been invited into someone house and having lunch with them, so he really don't know what he supposed to do.
"Is there anything I can help, Mrs Spring?" asked Nero.
Symia's mom just smiled and shook her head, "No, I am almost done. Thank you for offering though." She said, pulling a few plates down from the cupboards.
And Nero just stood beside a chair. He observed around the kitchen. Sunshine fell upon the counter giving bright reflection that light the kitchen. Sometimes a gentle breeze came from the opened windows bringing a comforting air along with a vague scent of grass. A distant birds chirping added the auditory beauty of the moment.
Symia's mom placed a sandwich on two plates, then handed them to Symia and then she carried them over to Nero, handing one of them to him. Symia smiled. "Here."
Nero picked the plate handed to him and sat on one of the chair. He bit the sandwich, savoring the taste of a homemade sandwich. "It's good." he said to Symia, half whispering. "This is delicious, Mrs Spring." he replied it to Mrs Spring.
Symia's mom smiled at him. "Thank you Nero." She said happily. Symia nodded. "Yep, My mom makes the best sandwiches~" She said, taking another bite.
They enjoyed that lunch when a brown shadow landed on the windowsill. That was Titus with a piece of paper between his beaks. He hopped and stood still at the kitchen counters."What is it?" Nero stood up from the chair. He picked the paper and read it.
Where are you? I'm home but nobody here.
Dad
"Well,Dad already home. I should go back now. Thank you for the lunch, Mrs Spring." said Nero. The owl hooted, and left.
Mrs. Spring smiled and nodded, "It was nice having you over, Nero." She said happily.Symia got up. "I'll walk you home." She said, smiling as well.
"The pleasure is mine. Thank you for the lunch, Mrs Spring." said Nero as he bent a little as sign of respect and gratitude. Nero turned and headed outside. On the front porch, he stopped a while, "Thanks, Symia. For everything." he said, smiling. "Probably Dad will take me to Diagon Alley for the school stuffs, it would be fun if we get it together." Nero surprised himself by that proposition.
She blinked, pausing for a moment, then smiled with a light blush on her face. "That sounds like it would be a lot of fun~" She said happily. "I would love to go with you." She looked out off of the porch and smiled, "I haven't been to Diagon alley before..." Symia said after a moment.
"Great. I've been there a couple of time. Dad took me." said Nero. "Well then, see you around, Symia. I got to go now." Nero waved a bit, and walked away.

Symia Spring; 116 South Riverton Dr
Evie Callaghan: 119 South Riverton Dr
Nero Drakeskin: 117 South Riverton Dr
Joshua Roby: 120 South Riverton Dr))
Symia sat outside her front door, listening to the sounds that the birds from the forest around the community area were making. She smiled, enjoying the summer breeze. It was too bad that the summer was about to end, she was not really too excited to go back to school, that was...unless she was allowed to go where she really belonged. She looked over at the kitchen window and saw her mum who was making lunch for the family. Her father was supposed to arrive by Floo Powder in less than 5.... There was a loud rush of air coming from inside the house. Okay, I take it back. 0.3 seconds. She thought with a big grin and then got up to go greet her father.
