Say it on your own,
Say it in your head,
Say it on the phone,
Or say it before bed!
Just say it the whole way through --
Say it 'cause it's true :)

The Not-So Austen Bookworm Pledge:

I solemnly swear I will read because I want to, not because I have to.

I promise to treat books with respect.
I will talk about fictional characters and fictional happenings.
I will never utter the words "But that is not real."
I will own more than 1 book.
I promise to try and buy out my local bookstore.
I will never put anything else before reading.
I will do my best to make sure that the next generation of bookworms have a deep appreciation for fine literature.

I will now go forth and pick up a book with the blessing and good wishes of my fellow bookworms. I pledge this pledge with fervour as only a bookworm can.

(Now you can crack a smile. Whilst saying the pledge you must remain upright with a stoic expression.)

Thank you for taking the pledge - now go out into the world as a fully-initiated Not-So Austen Bookworm!! <3

Kristi (derek1) | 46 comments I pledge to it but I sadly have to put homework before reading. Some of my teachers get scary when angry when you dont finish homework....

Sue (youvebeensued) I will abide by my bookworm pledge forever! :)

message 7: by Kristi (new)

I certainly remember that! Xx"

Yeah, same here. Ma will get red like Hell fire and to be honest, that look of Ma's scares the hell out of me! *shivers down her spine just thinking about it*

Kristi (derek1) | 46 comments My mom is a colleage professor and she teaches how to teach so shes very strict about school.

message 10: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 46 comments Lolz. 2 thing.

1. You spelled my name wrong. Its Kristi not Kristie.

2. I do remember that.

3. (oops. Guess it actually 3 things) ok

message 11: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 46 comments Its alright. My friend whos like a sister to me cant spell really anything even at our seventh grade level and shes proud of it. Its odd though since her mom is an English teacher. AND is our english teacher at school....

Its impossible to forget that!

message 13: by Sue (new)

Sue (youvebeensued) Kristi: About school, I'm not scared about homework at all. I basically do all my "home" work in the class! :D

message 14: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 46 comments Lucinda: Its okay. My moms laptop hates me. It doesnt load for me but as soon as my mom comes over.... it loads! Its like, cursed or something.

Rimpy: I would except I sit all the way in the front so I cant exactly sneak anything in...

message 15: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 46 comments lolz. My friend hits the computer to make it work. Most of the time I scream, yell, glare, or (depending on the situation) curse at my computer. (The only times Ive cursed at it is when it deletes an entire full essay due the next day and it was about 10pm and I was about to go to bed when the computer froze and automatically deleted the whole essay)

message 16: by Sue (new)

Sue (youvebeensued) Kristi: Do you have permanent seats or something like that? Can't you go sit at the back?

message 17: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 46 comments Ripley: Our seats dont really get changed except everyonce in awhile.

Lucinda: I just hate it when stuff like that happens to me.

As were mine! I thought for the longest time that my letter to Hogwarts had gotten lost in the mail and was very discouraged when I figured out that I was, in fact, a muggle, and would never be able to go to Hogwarts.

It's funny because I always believed that in the back of my wardrobe was a secret passageway so I was always confused when I tried banging at the back wall of my wardrobe wondering why the door won't open.

That also reminds me of when I started reading the rainbow magic books when I was younger and I told my cousin who is a couple months younger than me that evil human eating monsters lived in her backyard and it was hilarious because she believed it for like a whole 3 years before she actually read the book I got the idea from and then realised I was lying.
