I'm finishing a reread of The Good Earthfor book club tonight. Also just started The Sociopath Next Door (thank you, Caroline for the recommendation!) It's great so far and Die for You.

It was just okay I am going to try to finish it thoug..."I love the scrapbook cozy and they keep getting better with each one. Have you readThe Violets of March? Now THAT'S local! It transported me right back home.
Finished Still Alice and Lottery this weekend.Started Envy by Sandra Brown. Can't wait to get into it.
Started, "Blood Meridian," by Cormac McCarthy last night. It's been on my list for a while but I pace myself with him. He will most likely be abandoned for 2-4 days starting tomorrow when I get my Amazon order contains 2 and 3 in the Shades of Messed up I mean Grey trilogy. I am by no means saying they are high quality but they are addicting and what I needed after so much gloomy reading lately.
Me too Gretchen. This is only the third one I've read though by him. What is your favorite? I have read The Road and No Country for Old Men and like The Road a little but more.
All the Pretty Horses is my favorite so far. Just love No Country for Old Men too. Both movies are great compliments to the books. The Road was good and liked the movie but not my favorite.
Tried reading The Crossing which is the second in the border trilogy. All The Pretty Horses the first. Struggled with The Crossing and had to put it down. Hope to give it another try some day.
I'm reading She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. I'm halfway through and enjoying it, but man, is it sad!Stacey, glad to hear you're liking The Sociopath... :)
I've finished The Drowning and have now moved on to The Vanishing Cyclist. I'm also planning to read For Whom The Bell Tolls and The War of the Worlds over the weekend too :-)
I'm listening to my first audiobook, Defending Jacob. Question: Do you count them in your books read?
Laurel wrote: "I'm listening to my first audiobook, Defending Jacob. Question: Do you count them in your books read?"I would as it is still a book and had to be written before it could be read so go for it :-)
Laurel- I always count audiobooks. It takes hours to listen to one:). It's my favorite way to spend my commute.

Considering abandoning Shades of Grey. Whatever it's about, it's starting off so slowly that I keep losing interest. I have Blackout on hold at the library, which sounds very interesting.

Just finished Catching Fire in two days. I liked the second one better than the first. Reading The Lady in Gold: The Extraordinary Tale of Gustav Klimt's Masterpiece, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, after receiving it as a gift.
Have you watched The Rape of Europa?
Klimt's famous painting "Portrait of Adele" is discussed in that very enlightening movie about Hitler's plans to steal all the art and create the largest museum in the world.
