What are you reading, and how do you like it so far?

I just finished and , the second book in the Wondrous Strange series.

Ever Shade was pretty good (though it read a little more like it was geared toward younger teens, maybe). I'm intrigued enough to want to know what happens, and will be keeping an eye out for the rest of the series, anyway. :)

Darklight was great, though maybe slightly less so than the first one (probably because of the "noooooo!!" ending). ;)

Trying to read now (had it on hold at the library), but I'm a little slow getting into it, so far (have just been on a fae/PNR kick lately, I guess).

I just finished the last installment of Wings called Destined. I won it on the giveaways from the publishers and goodreads. It was really good, and tied up all the loose ends. After reading it, the whole series made sense and you understand the reasoning behind the titles of each book. I would recommend this series. It has less sex than Karen Marie Moning The series I am reading now is by Cheyenne McCray and it is very descriptive, and I find crude.

Cool! I need to go back and finish the Wings series -- I really liked the first one.

If I have my preference, I kinda like to have some of the more explicit details left to the imagination, but that seems to tag along in many of the non-YA series.

I also recently finished Angels' Blood and Archangel's Kiss. Similarish to KMM's series in adultness (i.e., has the occasional "TMI" moment), but a good story, so far.

I found the angels in this series to be kinda comparable to the fey (rather than "angelic" in the traditional sense), in that they're seductive, powerful, beautiful, and dangerous/lethal, kind of all at once.

I just finished:

In this one, the fey are divided into two main political groups who disagree on taxes, relations with humans/technology, and various other things. The main character gets kidnapped by the rebels and has to figure out whose side she's on. It reads as YA to me (probably because there's a love triangle), but I don't think it technically is. I enjoyed it -- was fun to find a new series that I didn't already know about. :)

I also just finished the last book of this series:

There aren't any fey in these (just "feylanterns" which are used as a magic light source when tech is down), but I'd put it in the same tier with the Fever series as one of my favorites.

I also read a series and in which it had fey in it, plus a character of death. It is a love triangle. I really enjoyed this and there is another book in the series called grave memory to come out.
They are by Kalayna Price. I also Liked KiKi Hamilton
Fairy Ring and she has another one coming out

I have an ipad, and i have the kindle app on it and desktop. What is booklending.com? I've never heard of it?

Booklending.com is an online Kindle lending site... you can lend books that you own and borrow them from others. I haven't made it all the way through borrowing one yet (I'm waitlisted for all of them), but supposedly the more you lend, the higher you move up on the borrow list. Kindle books can only be lent one time, so once you submit it and somebody borrows it, you can't lend it to anybody else.

If you'd like to borrow it, I just need an email address to give to Amazon to tell it who to send the loan to, and Amazon takes care of the rest. You'll get an email with a download link that will let you put it on the device of your choice.

Speaking of lending, my library seems to have gotten a new influx of ebooks. I found there in Adobe format, and the last time I checked, that one wasn't available digitally at all.

Yay for free books. :)

I liked Halfway to the Grave, but I'm not sure yet about Sookie... I'm worried it's going to be corny, but I'll try to give it a chance before I judge. Not sure if there are fey in it yet. :)

Don't give up on Sookie. It is well worth the read. In fact I liked it a lot more than Mortal Instruments. The books are different than the tv series. Both are good though. If you liked Halfway to the Grave you will like the rest of her series. It is my favourite.

I just try to browse the freebie ebook sites, as you don't have to lend and there is no time restrictions.

Hmm... like Project Gutenberg and such? I haven't had much luck finding free ebooks (except for classics). Any good site recommendations? I'm having the best luck with my library, so far, and occasionally Amazon Prime will come through. Booklending.com must have long lists, because I haven't gotten any there yet.

Sookie turned out to be pretty good! I actually didn't know there was a TV show (or if I did, I'd forgotten).

Next up is . It's been a little while since I read Beg for Mercy, so I don't remember if these have fey... the main character is a half succubus, and if I remember correctly it was a fairly typical PNR. Good story, though. :)

So it turns out Waiting for Mercy actually (view spoiler)[does have fae in it. There was only a general mention of them (didn't actually meet one), but some elves did make appearances late-ish in the book. (hide spoiler)] (Just a minor spoiler... doesn't give away too much)

Reading Hex Hall now. I love the voice of the main character, and have laughed out loud already just a few chapters in.

Just finished the Iron Fey series (which I absolutely LOVED) and I am eagerly awaiting The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa. But I am trying to find another book to read. I'm in a readers block if you will lol :)

I didn't think I'd like it this much (even after posting before that it grew on me), but about four books in I got quite hooked. :) I'm waiting for #7 to pop up at the library now.

They're not fae novels (magic/shapeshifters), but I just finished and and really liked them, for many of the same reasons I liked the Kate Daniels series (except it's a new story/world, of course).

I am currently re-reading Splintered which might actually be better the second time around. =w=

oooh I want to read splintered! But I have two ARCs to read them I'm going to dump a bunch of money on books at the RT Book Convention

I really like re-tellings that's why I'm so interested in Splinter. But I just finished Cinder a little while ago and it's great.

Is that the one with the sort of see-through leg in the red pumps...? O.o

favorite read of the year so far

Well I just put a hold request for it...and since all of the normal versions of the book were taken, I had to opt for the LARGE PRINT edition...I guess I'll be able to at least trick myself into thinking I'm reading faster...xD

I'm currently reading two books at the moment.
