Your thoughts on the era explored in "Space"

Having grown up during the active "Space Race" I found many parts of this book to be reminiscent, while others were historical.
It brought a lot of things to mind which I hadn't even remembered. It was a wonderful experience.
(I may even read this again!)

I was drawing Mercury capsules when I was a young boy. Had a GI Joe with a Mercury capsule and would play splash down while taking a bath. Read the book and it was the first time I became aware that a long distance relationship was possible.
