KaDee I've been on a lot of Tamora Pierce fan websites, and it seems like nobody there likes Aly! I, for one, loved her (But, I love all of Tamora Pierce's characters). But I was wondering what you thought. =)

Rebecca Douglass I'm with you. She gets jarred out of her adolescent obnoxiousness in a hurry, and from there out she's a very smart young woman proving you don't have to be a bruiser on a horse to be a hero.

Kind of wish Pierce hadn't felt the need to marry her off, though.

Anna I loved Aly. She is smart and knows what she is doing. I can't believe that those people don't like her.

νєяαℓι∂αιиє Daughter of the Lioness was my least favourite series. I didn't mind Aly so much, but the way Nawat treated her was bad in my opinion.

Madeline i love the books. Aly is great like all of the charaters

Totally agree! In most sequels, I generally dislike the children of my favorite characters, but I think Aly is the exception!

Bad Wolf I liked Aly a BUNCH, but Nawat was my favorite.

Amy I liked Aly, more than a few of Tamora Pierce's other heroines too, it's nice being able to read about someone succeeding due to brains rather than brawn from time to time!

Bad Wolf She was too perfect, though.

Amy I felt the same way about Daine but it didn't really bother me since they're both cool enough for me to forgive it.

Rebecca Douglass Well, Aly no question has far too many of exactly the right skills. But I'm glad she has a few teen moments when she lets her feelings get in her way.

Heather The Trickster books were actually my favourite of all Pierce's books, actually. I liked learning about the court intrigue and spy work. It's what got me reading the other Tortall books :-)

I like Aly (and Nawat and the entire story). I've read it several times. Not sure about their marriage (but why not). There's a short story with them that was rather sad, though. Not sure where it was in, Tortall and other Lands maybe.

- ̗̀ saku ̖́- At first I was put off by Aly's overconfident behaviour, which is probably the reason why many readers disliked her. But I grew to like her, and eventually she became my favourite Tammy Pierce shero. I loved how she worked with her brain rather than her muscles and that she didn't turn unto a drooling, stuttering mess with heart-shaped eyes in front of every (or any) pretty boy, but still had to work her way through her own feelings. Aly is really fun and I'd love to read more about her.
