Ballad discussion

I never read lament so I freaking hated Dee in Ballad I didnt care if she had a happy ending I didnt care if she got no ending I felt she didnt deserve one.

I read Ballad waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to soon after reading Lament. I was still hung up on Dee and Luke (who are way better than James and Nuala, I mean what the hell?). So anyway all through Ballad I was looking for signs of Luke returning and Dee getting the happy ending, I thought she deserved.........
Then I thought maybe Dee was going to get with James, and have her happy ending after all but NO.
The guy who wasn't even a main character in the first book, get's his happy-ending but our main character is left out! I never really liked Nuala, because I was still going after Luke and Dee blah, blah, blah so for me she just kind of got in the way. I started to be happy about the whole Nuala, and James thing but what, then he tries to rub it in Dee's face WTF!!!!
Then the big fearie mystery is finnaly resolved, and the book ends. It was unsatisfying and a huge let down, personally I blame this fact on James and Nuala.

I don't think Luke is dead!! In Maggie's next book in the series, Requiem, she says the first two words are: "Luke Dillon." There has to be more to the story! For all our sakes!

Ive read both Lament and Balled...Dee and James should be together.

Since when is Luke dead? I've read both Lament and Ballad and I don't think that he dies in either one of them.

I think that Luke became one of the faeries called by music like Una and Brendon (I can't remember what they're called) at the end of Lament.

I do think that Nuala and James are good together and that Dee is a bit unkind to James in Ballad, though probably not intentionally. Having said that I didn't mind her in Lament and I do hope that Dee gets some sort of ending with Luke.

And what did you think about that unsent text thing where you find out that some random faerie was pretending to be Luke?
