Sorry for the delay, I posted this on my blog but forgot to update here. The short list was announced today. Making the cut are; As many people know the Miles Franklin Award is an annual literary prize for the best Australian ‘published novel or play portraying Australian life in any of its phases’
The 2012 Long list include;

All That I Am by Anna Funder
Foal's Bread by Gillian Mears
Cold Light by Frank Moorhouse
Past the Shallows by Favel Parrett
Hardly a surprise that All That I Am won since has swept the awards this year. It's actually the book on the list I am not interested in reading though
