I read Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates this year. It's fictional, so not a true biography if that is what you're looking for. Oates dwells a lot on Marilyn's menstruation and there's a lot of man-hating going on, but it was still very good. Marilyn was such a bundle of contradictions, and Oates did a beautiful job of mapping out her own version of Marilyn.

Besides her book, one early edition of MS. magazine focused on MM. (I believe that one has become a collector's prize.)
A recent bio on one aspect of Marilyn's life is Joe and Marilyn: Legends in Love by C. David Heymann.
