The Mutant Star Tragedy

Book Description

Being in a world surrounded by vagrants, vigilantes, and demons would be a lot like living in Hell. Though, the outside world matters little to a boy being held in a murderer's basement.
An unnamed 12 year old boy serves as the narrator to the first part of The Mutant Star Tragedy. He and a group of other survivors serve as the prisoners of a deranged policeman that the boy refers to simply as 'The Man'. The Man gives the boy a stack of notebooks that he utilizes as a series of journals to record his experiences in the basement. His experiences involve torture, the rape of his sister, and the murder of his parents. Ashley Heard is a school-crush the boy mentions in his journals. He wonders if she survived the new and dangerous state of the world...
Ashley witnesses her father's murder at the hands of home invaders. Along her journey to flee a city overrun by otherworldly creatures, Ashley meets Juniper.
Though she is a call girl, Juniper Jones is a very special woman. She has the power of empathy; she can feel what others are feeling on an unnatural level. Her ability makes her very good at her job, but it also comes in handy as a survival tool.
In this novel, the violence inherent in all of man-kind multiplies and manifests itself into a physical form of the worst variety. If unchecked, the rage inside every human being spreads until it transforms them into unrecognizable creatures that have more in common with animals than with civilized human beings. Despite their hellish surroundings, three people manage to touch each others lives briefly but for the better, mirroring how real-life strangers can greatly impact the course of everyday lives.
