Ben Guilfoy | 33 comments Way back in the day, this was one of the big crossovers that the book series did. TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager all had a book in the series that sort of incorporated horror aspects into the typically sci-fi Trek universe. The Federation faces invasion by a race of beings who are, basically, monsters. They have the ability to instill fear in others.

Of the four books, I thought the 'Deep Space Nine' entry, 'Time's Enemy' was the best. Long after I'd gotten rid of the other three books, I kept that one and read it a few more times.

Was anyone else a fan of this miniseries? I didn't really care for the 'Voyager' installment, but I thought the other three were pretty dang good.

I haven't read this series yes, but I know it's on my list. I'm not a fan of TOS books though... do you think it's necessary to read?

Ben Guilfoy | 33 comments No, each book does a pretty good job recapping the previous one. And they're all pretty standalone, actually. They just happen to share the same villains basically. The TOS book sets the stage and introduces the concept, but the two that are the most closely related are the TNG and Voyager books.

Kathy | 18 comments I remember the series and really enjoyed the TNG and DS9 ones of the books. Been a long time for since I read them.

David (daviz) | 65 comments Just today I received TOS 'Invasion! First Strike' from a member of BookMooch. I couldn't help but read most of the first chapter almost as soon as I got it out of its envelope!

It seems to start off very promising with a star & its planets swelling up like balloons & losing mass so fast they eventually blow themselves apart - at the speed of light!

A Klingon force of five ships find themselves caught up in the mess but all but one of them survives by holding on to a tiny, tiny amount of mass instead of falling to zero mass & blasting themselves apart like the star & it planets.

Can't wait to get started!
