Matt | 18 comments Has anyone discovered an author that writes similar novels as Stuart Woods? If so, any recommendations?

Michael Redd (mredd) | 2 comments David Baldacci is close - he is a little deeper than Woods, but the Camel Club series and the Maxwell and King series are good reads. Also Harln Coben his Myron Bolitar series.

Matt | 18 comments OK. Thank you! I've tried J.D. Robb, but I'm not sure I'm in to the futuristic part of her books.

I have so many to read at home, I should read those before getting into someone else anyway.

Tracy | 35 comments Matt, I love Stuart Woods and Stone Barrington. I have also come to love Jack Reacher by Lee Child. Another A/A that I enjoy is Harry Bosch by Michael Connelly.

Matt | 18 comments Thanks!! I am currently enjoying David Baldacci's series. I finished the Camel Club series (recommended!) and am in the middle of the King & Maxwell series. Good, too!!
Looking forward to Woods' next book coming out in January!!

I feel James Pattersons Alex Cross books are in the same feel and genre as Stone Barrington.

Dianae | 25 comments But does Alex Cross have a buddy like Dino in the Stone Barrington books? Their tête á têtes were my favorite part of those books.

No I am afraid he does not. But he does have a lot of repeat characters that you grow to love. His momma , his lady friends. Other cops and criminals that come back.

Dianae | 25 comments Ah good. I'll make my way to him eventually. Thanks!

Tracy | 35 comments Jh wrote: "I loved the Spenser Detective series by Robert Parker, now deceased. They go back a ways, the first dozen or so are actual cassette tapes. I figured out a way to play them. Spenser has a pal, Ha..."

I have listened to several of Robert Parker's books and loved every one. I am also into Baldacci's King and Maxwell and also John Puller.

Andrea Marx | 1 comments I started reading a new author EJ Simon. Death Never Sleeps and now Death Logs In. Characters are great. Mystery thriller yet not at all gory. Series but stands alone. Easy read while on plane, weekend. Enjoy and read all of Stuart Woods. Some better than others but it is the style and enjoyment of the writing and the characters I now know and enjoy. I do not think you will be disappointed .

John Heise | 1 comments My favorites are Coben (Myron Bolitar and his buddy, Win) and Connelly’s Harry Bosch. In fact, there are three seasons of Bosch on Amazon (free to prime members) and they did a really good job staying true to the books.
