Kenneth Redner | 15 comments Personally I don’t really like this book. This is because it does not have very much action. It has some action, but it isn’t enough to qualify by my standards. I also think its pretty hard to follow. This was probably caused because it just jumped from pair to pair and it just makes my mind EXPLODE. Plus I think it would be better if the pairs had to travel around the world like in the 39 clues.

Cameron Cafmeyer | 21 comments The book had some cool, interesting parts, but it also had some very confusing parts. Some of the good parts were when the heirs were trying to figure out who kept setting off the bombs in the building. I also liked when the heirs went to the Westing House and were read the will. The parts that were confusing were when the author didn’t say who was talking so it was hard to tell who was saying what. It was also confusing when it came to the bombers identity. I think the bomber was Angela and Turtle was covering for her, but I’m not totally sure. Overall, good book.

Jessie Yaros | 15 comments I thought that The Westing Games was not that good! It was really boring and definitly confusing to me... The only part that I found was interesting was when Mr. Wexler had to leave the party because somthing was going on in the apartment! I would not recemend this book for 5th grade and under, I think its a higher level book.

Justin Hiller | 13 comments The book I thought it was ok. They could have done better though. I wish there could have been a murder cause it was reaily no fun to find out that he just died of netrual couse is. I wish the book was a little bit longer and not so sort chapters.

Avery Usher (AvErYuShEr) | 15 comments I think this book was ok. It was not the worst book I had ever read before, but it was definetely not the best. I think it could've used some more action in it, even though there were bombs. The bombs only lasted a few seconds, and they weren't really deadly. Also, there weren't really any parts that made me mad or sad. And most of the time it was confusing because the author jumlped too quickly to other characters sometimes.

Jared Muszynski | 13 comments I thought that the westing game was a very confusing book. All of the characters were dyeing and they were all moving around to different places and it was hard to keep track of them. Other then thoughts few thing I thought the book was pretty good. What I liked about it was that there was a bunch of explosions going off and a bunch of people dyeing all of the time. What I didn’t like was the fact that at the end of the book no one won the big money they all just got 10,000.

Thats what I think to, I love action so this book is not really for me. And I thought that when the characters were talking it was really hard to follow!

The only parts I found exciting were when the bombs went off.

message 16: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Wolff | 20 comments My thoughts of this book are it is arbitrary. (Look up if you don’t know) They have everyone talk at once, so it is hard to understand who is talking. Also at the end they go 5 years in the future, so likewise it is hard to understand if you don’t see that part. There are 16 characters, with 3 duplicates. There could be too many characters to keep up on everybody. But to the contrary of what you think I said, it was a good book.

I think that i would still recommend it because it wasnt that bad of a book. It was confusing in the begining but it became clear farther in the book.

I have noticed that the chapters where very short, it seemed to want there to be more chapters but the author could not think of anything esle to write so she ended it.

message 25: by Brendan (new)

Brendan Chodyniecki | 15 comments I found The Westing Game very intersting. This is surprising to me, judged by the fact that I don't normally like mysteries. The Westing Game was full of well developed characters, mind bending twists, and a killer plot. The overall story was, I found, well written and thought out. I liked how the author twisted not only my mind, but the characters minds too. Alot of the information hiven to the heirs is eater a rumor of false. Only the suvliminal meanings of things add up in the long run. Only a real slueth could catch on to this one!

i thought it wasnt that bad

message 29: by Nick (new)

Nick Stokes | 15 comments I think that the westing games was an ok book. the begining was very confusing as to who was who was talking. also it was just a lot of talking to each other and not a lot of people trying to figure it out. Although these were bad it did have some good things in it. This was the first mystery story that i could'nt quess who the murder/robber was. I think it ruend it when it turned out that there was no killer after all. this is what i think of the westing games by:Ellen Raskin.

Why would they travel around? That would only make the story more complicated (you oviously dislike the complexity) for no reason. Less is more.

Yeah, they should have had a murderer/robber. She [the author] ruined the ending.

What's wrong with no murderer. The only reason I don't like that is because it makes it almost impossible to solve the mystery beforhand.

When I first read this book, I thought that there needed to be a murderer. However, the more I think about it the more I like that there was no murderer because it is not what I would have expected at all.

A mystery is where you have to figure out who it was. I didn't think it would be Turtle.
