Noughts & Crosses question

This book really made me emotional. Especially when Callum died and his father and sister. But mostly him. I never read any book where the MAIN character gets killed off especially in the first book. Normally they'd get saved last minute. But Noughts and Crosses is a book which will make me cry no matter how many times i read it. It has a powerful msessage that you feel when reading each word. Absolutely love this book.
