Dream Catchers
Basic example (this is real):
I frequently have dreams that I'm flying. In one particular dream that I've had recently, I was able to control air, and that's how I was able to fly. But for some reason, whenever I kept climbing higher and higher up, I would begin to lose control, and start falling. This happened again and again.
Interpretation- If you’re struggling to reach a higher altitude or to maintain your altitude in a dream, this could symbolize that you may be aiming too high at the moment. In this case, you may want to try for a more reachable goal and then gradually increase your goals. Remember, sometimes it takes baby steps to get to the end destination.

OK so I have had (recently) a couple dreams of really weird natural disasters happening right outside my home. One was a bunch of tornadoes and the second was a volcano. Whats going on?
Also in one of them somebody i wish i could have told SO many things dead and all i thought about for the rest of the dream was how much i wished i could have told them how much they meant to me. it sucked more of nightmares then dreams.

Now for the first part, this could either be about feeling trapped, just disasters in general or the specific disasters (tornadoes, volcanoes). I'll give you the interpretation to all, and see if it helps.
Being trapped- Dreaming about being lost is very common and will usually occur when you are having conflict in deciding how to react in a situation in real life. In the dream you are trying to find your way out of an area – such as a forest, city streets, a large building, or other maze-like structure. Another way this dream plays out involves you being trapped, buried alive, caught in a web, or unable to move for some other reason. This is often accompanied by a feeling of terror. This dream usually means that you are trapped in real life – unable to make the right choice.
Tornadoes- To see a tornado in your dream suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive?
To dream that you are in a tornado means that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. Your plans will be filled with much complications and you will be met with a series of disappointments.
To see several tornadoes in your dream represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship.
Volcanoes- To see a volcano in your dream indicates that you are unable to control your emotions, particularly if the volcano is erupting. You are ready to burst. The outcome may be damaging and hurtful, especially to those around you. If the volcano is dormant, then it represents past issues that have been resolved and put to the rest.
About the death- In this dream, you (or a loved one) are ill, injured, or dying. It is a moderately common dream and, not surprisingly, occurs often at the onset of an illness. Aside from becoming ill, this dream can mean that you are emotionally hurt or are afraid of becoming hurt. The dream may also be warning you of an upcoming physical risk to yourself or a loved one. When it is someone else in the dream that dies, it can mean that you feel that part of yourself (that you see represented by that person) is dead. It may also mean that you wish the person would go away, or that you fear losing them.

all true :/ thanks. lots of crappy stuff going on lately.
@Jamie, hang in there girly, it get's better. I personally like this quote, (from Anne Frank) because not only is it really uplifting, but it's also true.
"Riches can all be lost, but that happiness in your own heart can only be veiled, and it will bring you happiness again, as long as you live."
@Matthew, That's really too bad, sometimes they can be rather... interesting!

I well Autumn. just not sure how haha
Matthew! ME TOO! I only remember my nightmares!

I'm not like, a morbidly obese person or anything... I just like food. I'm like, a food truck snob. And I'm not even kidding. When I think "food truck," I assume that there will be tri-tip.
And there was that dream about the waffle house... c:

I only remember one dream completely..."For some reason I do not know,
I was in a parking garage type area.
Cars are everywhere.
In the center, you can look up and see the stars above you.
There is also a concrete pole/pillar with metal rungs on it.
It doesn't look safe.
My friends and I start climbing in this order:
-F, F, ME, F.
The first two reach a ledge at the top and the pillar/pole starts swaying.
I do the logical thing and jump to the ledge.
Girl behind me stays on the rungs.
I do the other drema logical thing and grab a rung as it sways back my way.
It pulls me off the ledge and the rung disappears.
I fall...
to what I believe would be my death since it was very high.
IDK for sure. I woke up an instant before I hit the ground."
Fun dream, huh?
Usually, in my dreams where I fall, I have to close my eyes and come to terms with my death, when something happens. I either gain control again, or some mysterious force slows me right before I hit the ground, so I'm gently settled down. I've only had one dream where I woke up as soon as I hit the ground, but then again, the falling sensation was caused by me actually rolling off my bed, so.
the sound of Autumn wrote: "Usually, in my dreams where I fall, I have to close my eyes and come to terms with my death, when something happens. I either gain control again, or some mysterious force slows me right before I hi..."I hated waking up.
I was in a coldsweat and couldn't go back to sleep for a while.
I was SCARED for once.
For days at a time I had this dream, years ago. Only to find out later it was a wolf story; I've never read it. Or heard of it. Wolves: Being fond of wolves, I always had dreams of them. But not like this, it was all so different; so clear but yet blurry at the same time..
I could sense it, the running wolves, they were looking for someone. Or something. They were in perfect formation, a female big and strong in the front stepping harshly onto the leafy surface below her. The other wolves were as big as her, but she was different, she had a different stare than the others. Her glare at her destinations location was sharp, deadly and firm. Ignoring anything and everything except the path ahead of her. The house came into view, sitting in what looked like the middle of the woods. A lit up house.
The parents rushed, hurrying to save their only baby daughters life. I was the baby. My little tiny and stubby arms reached out to them and whimpered for them to hold me again. My father shushed me with his fingers to his lips. He covered box I lay in with my favorite blue blanket. My mother and father look terrified before closing it. I don't know how, but I held my breath.
There were screams, there were cries, there were rips and there were muffled sounds of what were my parents happiness. In only short ten minutes it was over. I could see them through the crack of the box, my parents killers. Two grown men, one with brown hair and another with black. They were tall, the same height. One began to scan his eyes around and I remember squeezing back into the wall of the box when I saw he was coming towards me. His arm reached out.
A fake baby, he showed it to his friend and they began to laugh loudly and it boomed so much my ears hurt. They slammed the door shut, and somehow the box fell. My tiny little body remained somehow safe and I began to crawl the way they'd came. Crawling through the doggy door and out onto the lawn a woman remained giving orders to men all around the skirts of the trees; they all looked at me. With fear I froze, the deadly woman's head snapped over, picking me up as if I were her own. "We're just going for a short ride." She whispered. Hugging me into her arms. I watched as she changed, it was quicker than scary movies, just a leap and she was one with the pack. Holding me by the shirt with her muzzle she made a wolfish sound before leaping off. "Hold on tight kid." I somehow understood.
Its been almost 15 years, leaving me at about 15 and a half. I've gotten into more trouble over the years, partying with fellow wolves and leaving the normal area. But one night, I'd gone to far. I went into a construction sight.
I heard her voice; The Alpha. I was dead. She was going to kill me for going this far. I heard male voices, walking closer, and closer. I ran.
The bridge stopped, it had been ruined, it looked like it had been cut right down the middle. With my wolf senses at its peek I didn't notice it, and I ran right off the bridge. Lucky for me, there was a long, thick piece of wire for my jaw to grab.
Before pulling myself up, I heard her. Whispering, Cooing. "Come out, Come out wherever you are.." After I was sure she'd left, I pulled myself back and up onto the bridge after many fails. Running, there were so many black and yellow things. Big boulders and such. The last time I'd been human was a mystery, I'd left my human side unknown. I ran straight into a human.
Frightened I took off, running into one of the sheds. I leaped into the biggest shelf made of black cement. Curling up, the lights flickered on and off. A yelp of happiness came as a man opened the door. "I've got ya!" But I had a yell of my own. Staring down at my paws, now turned into vicious claws extending into the air in front of me. In a only cry I could- I yelled "Go!" Shifting into something I'd never been as before. Something dangerous.
- Dream ends.

I had a dream last night. Out of all the things that happened (murder and torture in a post-apocalyptic world) the one that stood out to me most was how I saw myself in the dream. I was obese. Like, really obese.
I've had dreams where teeth ave fallen out, fingernails peeled off, and I've gotten a uni-brow, but never have a seen myself with a lot of fat. Concerned by this, I decided to search interpretations for this dream. This is what I got:
To dream that you are fat signifies a fortunate change in your life. You are experiencing abundance in some area of your life. Alternatively, the dream means that you are being overindulgent. You need to learn moderation. A more literal interpretation of this dream is your fears of gaining weight. You have an skewed perception of your own image which may stem from low self-esteem.

I've never had a fat dream before... I've dreamed of being naked, though. That was some scary stuff. I had a dream once where I was in love with a gorilla. Now, what does that mean?? :D
My dreams have become nothing lately, nothing. I've always loved dreams too, the evil ones, the happy ones, they all seemed to make me feel good. Make me feel like I still am as human as anyone else. But I haven't gotten enough sleep to even start dreaming. Hopefully tonight, I will. Sleeping in, and dreaming for as long as possible.
Would you like me to post lucid-dreaming techniques? It will not only help you remember your dreams, but control them too! I've done it once, it's pretty freaking awesome. I was like, "Imma fly now!" and I started flying.
Quick tip: Select two or three dream exercises - then be loyal to them. You goal is to train your subconscious mind to follow new rules, so it may take a little time for these to become ingrained. Be patient and stay focused on your goal, and you will learn how to lucid dream. The first few can be the hardest but are very rewarding!
1.) Suggestion:
Clear your mind. Relax. Repeat to yourself thoughtfully one of the following:
“Tonight in my dreams, I will realize I am dreaming and become consciously aware.”
Or
“Tonight in my dreams, when I see something strange, I will realize I am dreaming and become consciously aware.”
Or fill in the blank with a dreamsign which is both common and unusual in your dreams (for example, if your dead Aunt Ruth frequently appears in your dreams):
“Tonight in my dreams, when I see ___________ (my deceased Aunt Ruth), I will realize I am dreaming and become consciously aware.”
Imagine yourself happily writing down your lucid dream in the morning!
2.) Waggoner’s Modified Castaneda Technique: Finding your Hands
Using the Carlos Castaneda approach consistently each night before sleep is how I had my first lucid dream. I believe it works by establishing a simple stimulus-response associational link. Practicing repeatedly develops the association between the stimulus (the sight of your hands) and the response (“This is a dream!”).
1) Sit in your bed, and become mentally settled.
2) Stare softly at the palm of your hands, and tell yourself in a caring manner that, "Tonight while I am dreaming, I will see my hands and realize that I am dreaming."
3) Continue to softly look at your hands and mentally repeat the affirmation, "Tonight while I am dreaming, I will see my hands and realize that I am dreaming."
4) Allow your eyes to cross, and unfocus; remain at peace and continue to repeat slowly.
5) After about five minutes or once you feel too sleepy, quietly end the practice.
6) When you wake up in the middle of the night, gently recall your intention to see your hands and realize that you are dreaming. Try to remember your last dream; did you see your hands?
7) At some point in a dream, suddenly your hands will pop up in front of you and you will instantly make the connection, "This is a dream!" Try to stay calm and explore the dream environment. Later, when you wake from your lucid dream, take a moment and write it down in your dream journal -- write the entire dream; how you realized you were dreaming; what you did while aware that you were dreaming, etc. Congratulations!
3) Stephen LaBerge’s MILD Technique
The following is my interpretation of LaBerge’s visualized role-playing technique:
1) Get into the practice of memorizing your last dream in detail, when you spontaneously wake up at night. Simply lie in bed, and recall the last dream in detail.
2) Then LaBerge suggests that you take your recalled dream, and clearly imagine that you have become lucid at an appropriate point. Visualize yourself becoming aware in the remembered dream.
3) Next, intend to become lucid in the next dream by suggesting, "Next time I’m dreaming, I want to recognize I’m dreaming."
4) Do the above until you feel determined. Expect to become lucid and aware in your next dream as you fall back asleep.
LaBerge also recommended that lucid dreamers conduct a "reality check" to verify that they were dreaming. A "reality check" could be something as simple as levitating or flying -- if you can do these actions in the dream state, then obviously it is a dream! ( Personal note: I often pinch my nose and try to breathe- if I keep breathing, it's a dream.)
4.) Paul Tholey’s – A Critical Question? Or a Lucid Mindset
In 1959, Paul Tholey developed an idea to achieve critical awareness in dreams, writing: “If one develops a critical frame of mind towards the state of consciousness during the waking state, by asking oneself whether one is dreaming or awake, this attitude will be transferred to the dreaming state. It is then possible through the occurrence of unusual experiences to recognize that one is dreaming.”
Throughout the day when confronted with an odd event, ask yourself, “Am I dreaming or not?” Then consider, “How do I know?”
Some have suggested putting a red ‘C’ on your hand with a marker, and then each time you see it, ask yourself, “Am I dreaming?” You could then do a reality check, like try and levitate. Eventually, this may transfer over to your dream state, and when you wonder “Am I dreaming?” and do a reality check, you will find yourself levitating, and realize, “This is a dream!”.
5.) Nap to Lucidity Technique
Independently noticed by many lucid dreamers (and confirmed by the Lucidity Institute), the Nap to Lucidity Technique significantly increases the probability of a lucid dream.
A) Wake about 90 minutes before your normal waking time.
B) Spend the next 90 minutes reading or thinking about lucid dreaming, then return to sleep with the intent to become lucid.
Using this technique, the number of lucid dreams skyrocketed in the final sleep period, when compared to baseline records. ( Lynne Levitan, Nightlight, Vol 3, # 1, “Get Up Early, Take a Nap, Be Lucid”)

I had a dream that my cross country coach and my mom kept on writing '33' on my geography homework. They were both completely insane too. And I had a hot neighbor that in a way thought he was Rue, and I was Katniss. And he would die if I didn't whistle back, and so he disappeared in the forest after a few rounds of successful whistling transfers and I couldn't whistle back because my mom was making me stay inside. And I was really distraught. It was STRANGE. less gory than most of my dreams, but whatevs.
The dream was fuzzy but I knew it was him - I can remember his face so clearly now - they say when you see someone in a dream you want something from them. And I got what I've wanted for months.. To just talk to him. I don't like him anymore.. I can't. My feelings ruined a friendship, just like the one before. The pain hadn't stung so bad as it does now. He had on his favorite green plaid shirt and he was talking to me about Madisyn. The world was revolving around him- almost literally. Everything else was blurry. It was almost like he was trying to tell me something. But I can't remember the words he spoke. And it kills me. Because I just miss him so much.
@Angel, Maybe that's a sign that you should go and talk to him again Angel. Your subconscious is telling you that you miss him and that you want to talk to him again, why don't you listen? Make yourself happy.
@Cheyla, You're not the only one. That shit gets weird sometimes. o.O
@Cheyla, You're not the only one. That shit gets weird sometimes. o.O
Because Ri, we had one class together. And the day I put up the courage to sit next to him. I looked back and he was gone.And I get those from time to time.. So weird. ;-;
Well, if he doesn't want to be around you, he's obviously gone insane. I feel sorry for the pore bloke.
I had a dream that a few GR people who shall remain nameless (:D) and I actually went to school together. High-fives, laughter, the works...Then my f-ing subconscious remembered:
"Wait, this isn't real! They are in different states or countries! TERMINATE!"
And then the vision i had turned to a photograph that burned up leaving me with an inky black void I couldn't comprehend...
I cannot dream of people I do not know...how can I give a person a face if I have not seen even the glimpse of it?
That should answer your question.
If it does not, then only those who I dreamed of will know they were there.
Oh, yes, that includes Matt btw. :P

That made no sense to me whatsoever, so I assume I wasn't in your dream. So I haven't crawled into your subconscious... yet. *cue the dramatic music*

Yep. But no dress, sadly. :P
It was depressing because it started out AMAZING!
I keep having dreams of slaying something... Such as monsters, or that I need to save someone. It includes waters, and pearls.. Its really weird. When I wake up, its really fuzzy. I remember the dream perfectly when I'm dreaming it, but when I wake up.. Not so much.
No matter how late I stay up, I always wake up at 5:00 shortly later I hear a short thud from somewhere inside my house. My dreams are just cut: like someone doesn't want me to see it all so clear. And like I said, it feels as if I have to kill something. I have the feeling that I will someday have dejavu of the dreams. So strange.
I know what you mean. Did you know that if you wake up abruptly, you're much more likely to remember your dream? Happens to me all the time, it's pretty interesting.
Random factoid:Your mind is evil.
It can plant memories that aren't real and never happened in your brain.
Experiments have been done where they put people at a picnic and then later showed them photographs of things that happened and almost everyone seemed to somehow remember it happening with perfect clarity...
the mind is an effed up place.
Yeeup. People are also the best at lying to themselves too. Believe that any memory was merely a dream hard enough, and after some time, you'll fully believe it. Sometimes we don't even do it on purpose.
o__o I had a weird dream last night about me being in a bookstore, and a boy was being chased. So being me; I couldn't stand by. I jumped into the action, and they were trying to kill me. So the boy saved me - he was pretty cute - and we escaped eventually. Later, he told me his secret. He was a vampire, he was dying, he needed blood. Right before I woke up I offered him my wrist.
Um, okay. Read Twilight recently? Or House of Night or something similar? :PThere's a saying that it's important what you dream in your first night in a new home. So can anybody tell me what my dream meant? I was somewhere I didn't know, running through a city with a group of people (sadly, I don't remember who they were) and we were saving the world. Don't ask me how, because I don't remember. But we did it. xD

So, what'd you dream last night? This is just a place to put down any of your dreams that you've had recently, or even a little while ago. If you ask, I'll even research an interpretation- basically meaning that I'll tell you what your dream symbolized, and how it relates to you in the real world!
And please, don't be shy, everyone has weird, and maybe even embarrassing, dreams sometimes, you're not the only one!
