I hate the ads on Goodreads! Not to mention ALL ADS!!! They're so annoying. I like a website that has no ads so you can focus on the content.

I know. How can I focus on a game when I see an add for allergy medicine. goodreads is even worse, sometimes the ads block the text!

I hate when they keep changing like a slideshow!

I don't like the moving or audio ads, but I don't really care about the GR ones, especially 'cause they make GR possible.

Eh...

I don't have many issues with GR ads, like Robin said, they make GR possible.

OK, so my initial reaction to seeing this was completely shocked and appalled. See, I'm pretty sure he created, oh, four fake GoodReads accounts JUST to review his own book. Which is obviously wrong. However, I've seen him interact with other people, and he seems like a pretty cool guy. He expresses appreciation when people write reviews, even if the reviews aren't positive, and accepts criticism gracefully. The advertisement was definitely a bit strange (and I've seen a few other equally strange ones that he's put up), so hopefully he's moved on to more effective ways of marketing. I respect the fact that he had enough courage to publish his book, and that he's looking at this as a learning experience, so I wish him all the best. (hide spoiler)]
